Taylor does an excellent job taking care of our pets. Even if it’s been awhile since we’ve last needed her services, she remembers where everything is and our pets, especially our German Shepard, love when she arrives.

Lyn was terrific. My kitty's just adored her. She showed up every day on time, sent me pictures and gave me great comfort knowing that my animals were being cared for on my business trip. I highly recommend both lynn and Rover.

Great job of caring for my barn cats. The pictures gave me great confidence that they were being fed while I was focused on enjoying my family.

Avaiyah did a great job with our spunky and overly friendly dog when we went on a very last minute trip to see family. We had never done anything like Rover before and have only ever used the same boarder, so we were hesitant to try it out, but she made it so easy and we will definitely be using her again!

About: I have taken care of dogs, cats and a few family birds of all kinds and ages since I was 10. Friends and family have relied on me to pet sit, walk, play, feed (administer suppplemts and medications as needed) and occasionally bathe their pets. Well versed in taking care of older pets (such as my own) and various pet sits for other pet parents. I'm currently working full time days; remotely, leaving my availability for pet care and pet sitting open for each! I love being active outdoors on my days off and on my breaks from work; usually walking and enjoying the weather. When taking the pets on walks, I always make sure they are leashed; they have food and water, bathroom breaks and enjoy their time spent with me by actively engaging in play time with them. Will also bathe animals if it is requested by their owner.

Kasandra was great to depend on to look over my dogs. Especially when it was a last minute booking. On top of looking after them, she was able to do some miscellaneous things that came about due to certain circumstances. It really give you a peace of mind when you can rely on someone to look after your fur babies. Thanks Kasandra!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, so being around pups feels like home to me. I love getting outside, watching movies and lounging, and walks! My goal is for every dog to feel safe, happy, and cared for. I am off in the summer so I am able to spend most of the day with the pups! I just graduated from my masters and begin my full time job in September! I only do in-home pet sitting because dogs are way more relaxed and happy in the spaces they already know and love. When I stay in a client’s home, I treat it with respect, follow the routines they already have, and make sure their pups feel safe, cozy, and cared for. I build trust by keeping communication open, asking questions if I need to, and making sure caregivers feel supported knowing their animals are in good hands. I joined this app because I genuinely just love dogs and wanted a way to spoil and hang with pupperz while their caregivers are away!

About: HELLO! I have been taking care of all kinds of dogs from pups to senior pets who have special needs. I have done stuff like this ever since I was in middle school. I am very flexible with my time. I do have a cat allergy but that won’t stop me from that either! I’m always here to help you’re best friend 😊 Im very flexible with my schedule for a couple months! I can do early mornings to late nights. I’m always able to help with anything! I’m very detail oriented and need straightforward instructions in order to properly care for a pet. The more straightforward the instructions the better! I treat any pet as if they were my own. Maybe a chance to spoil with my special frozen pet friendly watermelon slush for the hot summer days? Or a little trip to get a pup cup? My dogs are spoiled and I miss them so much so this would be a win-win for the both of us 🤣

About: I've intermittently assisted my sister at her pet grooming business over the past 10+years. This time is also when I started watching dogs for some of her clients and I then found clients of my own through word of mouth. I've stayed in people's homes with their pets, I've had pets stay at my home. I have experience with puppies to senior dogs, kittens to senior cats. I have experience with toy breeds to Giant breeds. Domestic felines to hybrid. I grew up on a farm and have been around animals my entire life livestock, wildlife and pets, I have a deep love and respect for them. I've always had a pet dog/cat or both.. currently both. My schedule is currently very open daily, weekly, weekends very flexible. I intend to prioritize pet care in hopes of building a good business base for the near future. Pets in my care get all the love and attention. Vet name and number, emergency contact, medications list needed... I have out door tie outs, a zip line tie out, out door kennel, 2 indoor kennels, I'll let your pet sleep in my bed if it's sad. I want the pets to always be as comfortable and stress free as possible, so whatever that looks like for them is what I'll provide.

About: I work remotely in marketing full time. We’re very grateful to have a nice home with a wonderful, large, fenced-in backyard that allows the dogs to go potty in and explore (bark!). My availability and hours are very flexible and the dogs are rarely left alone or kenneled, they are free to roam the house, I just close doors as necessary. I have never owned a dog of my own, I just grew up around dogs and cats. Mainly and most recently, it was a sisters two dogs our family spent the most time around: Gibbs (15 lb., 13 yr old, male Jack Russell Terrier & Beagle mix) and Zero (65 lb., 5 yr old, male Standard Poodle). I would basically Rover for her and her husband, which including giving the senior, anxiety-ridden dog meds (he didn’t enjoy, he would spit them up). We enjoyed being outdoors and evening walks around the neighborhood and having them a part of our family. They have then since moved to the West coast with their dogs. I work remotely and am blessed with the work-life balance it offers. I have an energetic elementary school-aged daughter. She's an empath and truly cares for all animals wellbeing! She's deeply concerned about any discomfort or distress. We have a dog-friendly orange cat named Buddy (4). He's fed first thing in the AM and enjoys chin scratches. He stays nearby me in my office or does his own thing. My daughter buses to and from school and I take a hour lunch at noon, then am done at 5 PM and we go about our evening routine. Dogs go out every few hours (sliding patio door) to the fenced in yard or when they signal me. Right in the morning and before bed. I try to get as much activity in for us as possible, especially on decent weather days. We utilize a nearby parks, dog park and walking trails in our community. Having the dogs here really motivate me to go for more walks, the dogs love them and I appreciate the eager walking company. I also live with my younger sister (23). She works full time 2 jobs as a CNA/retail, isn't home much but does help me care for the dogs, such as a short walk around the block. Our home is a 4 bed, 3 level split with a finished basement. It has a large secure, fully-fenced in yard and the property has 11 trees. Garage is attached. We all sleep in the upstairs bedrooms which is also where my office is. I have 2 litter boxes for my cat, one in garage that he prefers. The other is in the basement bathroom, where I can keep the door shut (Ive caught sisters dog eating litter covered turds). Our neighborhood is very safe and quiet. I have a reflective sash I wear out at night (this summer I was nearly ran over by an SUV when it was dark). The dogs usually sleep on the floor in my room and it's OK if they sleep on the bed, I am not concerned about fur. If the dog stinks, I can give them a bath either downstairs in the wash tub or upstairs in the bathtub. If they stay longer and start to stink, I will bathe them, because everyone feels better after a bath.

About: I have been around animals for as long as I can remember. I have the biggest soft spot for them, and I have two dogs of my own. I have had my own dog since I was about 19, but have had outdoor farm dogs for as long as I can remember. I have been around dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and other small animals for as long as I can remember. I am patient, detail orientated and I truly just love spending time with animals. Big or small, I love them all! I do work during the day, but I have the ability to pop out if/when I need to. I am free evenings and weekends. My schedule can be flexible if needed. I have a dog friendly home. To me this means there’s nothing but toys on the ground. Garbages are hidden and I am very aware of what is around my animals. I also have a dog park in front of my apartment!

Need more activities to do on my days off. I usually will have 3 days off. I have my dog with me and know how important he is. He is home. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
