About: I’ve cared for cats, dogs, and chickens my whole life and currently share my home with three cats, so multi-pet households and juggling different feeding routines are second nature to me. There could be exceptions that come up, but I’ll always confirm timing in advance and stick closely to your pet’s usual feeding and walk schedule. Since I care for pets in your home, I treat your space with respect and follow your instructions to the letter. I keep doors and gates secured, always leash dogs before heading out, and stay alert to each pet’s comfort and body language. I lock up when I leave and send photo updates so you know everyone’s safe and happy.

About: I’ve spent the past 3 years volunteering with shelter dogs that were reactive, nervous, high energy, sensitive, untrained, and everything in between. My sister and I would take shelter dogs out for the day and bring them to the beach, on long walks, car rides, basically just let them have a full day outside of the shelter. That experience taught me a completely different level of dog care than I was used to from simply caring for my grandmother’s dog, Lulu. I learned how to recognize when a dog is uncomfortable, when to give them space, and how to work with their individual boundaries instead. Shelter dogs taught me that no two dogs are the same, and caring for them isn’t something to take lightly. I’ve also volunteered at the Staten Island Zoo for 2 years and have had animals around me my entire life. My pets back home in New York include my 8 year old cat Nemo, a blue tongued skink, bearded dragon, gecko, gerbils, tortoise, pixie frog, and more. My sister and I grew up going to animal expos, so I’ve had experience being around and caring for many different kinds of animals. Because of that, I’m very comfortable around animals, but I also know that being comfortable doesn’t mean ignoring their boundaries. I want to know their routine, personality, triggers, habits, favorite things, and anything else that helps them feel safe and comfortable. The more I know about your pet, the better I can care for them! I’m a Virginia Tech student with a pretty open class schedule. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I only have class from 12:20–2:15 PM. Tuesdays are my busiest day, with classes from 9:30–12:15 PM, and on Thursdays I only have class from 11:00 AM–12:15 PM. Because of this, your pet would rarely be alone for long stretches; the longest would be around 3 hours on Tuesdays. Outside of class, I’m home and have plenty of time for walks, potty breaks, playtime, and keeping them company. I live at The Hub, which is a pet friendly community with its own dog park and plenty of outdoor spaces for walks and potty breaks. I’d only use the dog park if it’s empty. I’m also happy to skip it completely if that’s what you prefer! I’d follow whatever routine your dog is already used to and keep things as normal and comfortable for them as possible while they’re with me!

About: Over the past 16 years, I've cared for just about any animal you can imagine! A flying squirrel, a 15-foot python, dogs, cats, horses and more. I have my own pup of seven years and we absolutely love welcoming friends into our home. We live on a .4 acre lot in central Christiansburg and I have an incredibly flexible schedule so we're up for anything! Let me put your mind at ease as being away from your beloved pets is hard enough. I'll send multiple updates throughout the day and lots of pictures. Happy to care for any and all animals. I'm working full-time in ministry so I have lots of time throughout the day to care for your loved one and will be gone no more than a few hours per evening for bible studies and groups. I take my dog, Tonka, out 5-6 times per day minimum and we love to go on walks and be outdoors. I have a large field directly behind my home and live in a very pet-friendly area tucked off the main road so your pup will enjoy lots of safe and supervised outside time! I allow animals on the furniture and keep all choking hazards up high. My dog has a knack for finding even the smallest things to mess with so I have good practice with keeping a safe home.

About: I’m an experienced cat sitter and foster caregiver with a passion for helping pets feel safe, happy, and loved. I currently foster two cats and have two of my own, and over the years I’ve cared for and socialized more than 40 cats and kittens. I’ve currently work for a non-profit rescue called Forgotten Animal Rescue and work closely with local shelters on TNR programs and adoptions, gaining hands-on experience with shy or nervous cats and helping them become comfortable around humans. I prioritize a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet I care for. In my home or a client’s home, I make sure the space is secure, clean, and free from hazards, with plenty of cozy spots for pets to relax. About: I've been around dogs, cats and horses my entire life. I currently have a Blue Heeler, Easton, who is a ball full of energy so I know how important consistent care is for any animal. I am a veterinary assistant at a mixed animal clinic so I am very familiar and comfortable with caring for animals of all sizes! I know how important consistent care is for your pets and I treat every animal I care for like they’re my own. I can provide long-term care if you’ll be gone for a longer period of time or I can be more flexible and provide drop-ins, feedings, walks and much more- it's entirely based on what you need! If your pet should come to my house, I have a wonderful fenced in yard that is great for chase and playing fetch. My dog has been socialized since he was a pup and loves having another playmate! His favorite game is chase and fetch and he's always willing to share his toys with new friends.
