“It means soo much to have a safe space for my dog, my baby, to stay and play with humans and other dogs. Thanks Tanita and Terrence for such great and attentive service!”

“Toby just completed his second day care stay with Lilian, and I couldn't be happier. This is a new experience for him, but he's settling in, and I love that he's getting an opportunity to socialize with other dogs. Lilian is very kind and communicative, and genuinely cares about the dogs in her care. We will keep coming back!”

About: Will not be accepting anything after August 28th, 2026. I am a sophomore in college majoring in comp sci. My parents are a Military Navy Retired and veteran husband and wife. With my family of 6, we have rescued and loved dogs of different breeds, 1 cat, and 1 rabbit (Golden Retriever, labs, miniature pincher, and a few mixed breeds). My dad grew up with a Great Dane! I have had dogs in my family since I can remember. I adore all animals including dogs, cats, and insects. I daydream of living on a farm with my many animals and horse one day. Me and my parents will be taking care of your babies. Our hearts currently belongs to a miniature golden doodle named Anya! We want to provide your fur baby with the best stay and care so please inform us of their normal feeding/sleeping/activity routine. Any special care instructions, medical instructions, or special requests. Any triggers, aggressive, erratic, or emotional behaviors or responses. Any items you are working on or training at home so we can continue the routine. We have a spacious home, yard, and deck and look forward to welcoming and taking care of your family member as if our own! This means we will try not to send them home too spoiled but can’t make any promises… they will surely be loved and get lots of attention!
“Saniyya was responsive and flexible! I was a little late picking up & she was helpful. Appreciate her help & would use again! Day care end time posted was a little off ( actually at 540p not 6p) but overall satisfied! Thank you Saniyya”

About: We treat your pup like family—just like our own! We understand how important it is to know your dog is in the best hands. With a safe, comfortable home and a fully fenced yard with plenty of shade, your dog will have space to play, relax, and feel right at home. Our love for dogs means we provide personalized care, ensuring a happy, stress-free experience for both you and your furry friend! Pet care is at the heart of our daily routine! Our family of dedicated dog carers includes full-time and part-time workers, ensuring that someone is always home to give your pup the attention and care they deserve. Whether it’s playtime in our fenced yard, cozy relaxation indoors, or supervised socialization, your dog will always have loving companionship and a safe, comfortable environment throughout the day. In our home, we follow a loving and consistent routine to ensure every pup feels safe, happy, and well-cared for. Each day includes morning walks—rain or shine—followed by feeding and plenty of outdoor playtime in our fenced yard. If it’s raining, we bring the fun inside with an assortment of safe dog toys and interactive play. In the afternoon, we head out for another walk, and if applicable, a trip to the doggy park for extra social time. Treat time is always a highlight, and in the evening, we wind down with a final walk before tucking your pup into bed with soothing music for a peaceful night’s sleep. If your dog is more of a lounger and loves to relax while watching TV, we’re happy to accommodate their favorite pastimes, too! Your dog becomes part of our routine—and part of our family.
“Ms.. Dana has been amazing since the beginning. Our meet and greet was scheduled promptly and upon arrival she had a welcome poster with our pup’s name on it. We toured her home and our pup loved it all. He played a little in her yard and home as we talked. I had many questions about her process and she was very patient answering them without hesitation, easing any concern I had. Our first time dropping our pup off, Ms. Dana was sure to send videos, pictures and messages throughout the day. I love this part because it showed our pup happy and energetic as he normally is. It was funny to me because when I thought of me pup a video or picture would pop up from her, coincidentally. When we picked him up she gave a report about how he did, which was super helpful for me. Another time we used her she had another dog there. I was curious how our pup would connect with the other one and it turned out that he did great. Each visit, I leave little instructions with his food and treats and she’s followed them without a problem. We’ve also brought a toy or two with our pups name on it and have always gotten those items back. Because things have gone so well with daycare, we’re trying out boarding with her. I’m certain things will go well as every interaction with Ms. Dana for us and for our pup has been great! I would highly recommend using ms. Dana if you need someone. She loves dogs, cares for them well, has a great space for them to play etc. We will be using her until our pup grows out of her weight range.”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
