“One of my cats got injured right before a trip out of town, and Emma boarded him at her house while we were away. She gave him his medicine twice a day and sent pictures and information every day. She spent time cuddling him and he even got to make a little doggy friend. I wasn't sure how my cat would do around the other animals, so Emma was very thoughtful about how and who she introduced him to, and made sure he had his own private space so he could feel comfortable. She even got him some treats :)”

About: I have cared for several work friend's pets, including someone who had 7 medium-large dogs with a laundry list of special accommodations and medications needed I am an Army Veteran going to college, this leaves my afternoons and weekends completely free. I can alter the rest of my schedule to accommodate your pet I have a dog and cat of my own, so I have experience with the difference in the needs and behaviors of the two most common household pets. I care for their physical as well as their mental health to the best of my ability. I strive to care for all animals the same way.

I will follow specific instructions tailored to your pet, including feeding times, walks, medications, rules in the home, etc. I love going on walks, and stopping by for potty breaks as well, and will tailor the experience to your pet and what they need.

About: Hello! I love all types of pets and currently have two dogs of my own. I am a student at Virginia-Maryland college of veterinary medicine trying to earn some extra money by doing what I love, playing with pets. I have experience with all types of pets at varying sizes and personalities. During my undergraduate career, I raised two Seeing Eye Dogs and helped other raisers with training. During this time, I worked at a veterinary hospital, participated in animal specific events like vaccination clinics, and groomed. From healthy puppies and kittens to seniors who need medication, I have seen it all and am prepared to help with whatever your pet needs. I hope I can meet your fur babies and shower them with love while your away. As someone who owns two dogs, pet care is a priority in my life. Both of my pups get plenty of one-on-one time as well as long walks and enrichment in the house. During the day, the pups are crated while I am at school, but if my boyfriend is off of work they get to run around and play. As soon as I get home the dogs get taken out and fed. Along with daily care, I take care of all of their grooming and medical needs as well. I currently live in apartment complex which has a dog play area for your furry friends to get plenty of exercise. There is also a trail connected to the complex which will be utilized for long walks and plenty of sniffing opportunities. Both of my pups are very friendly and would be happy to be your pet’s playmate during their stay.

About: I am a new sitter on Rover, but don’t let that put you off. :) My family has never known a time where we didn’t have pets! When I was five years old, my parents entrusted to me a sweet black kitty for whom I was solely responsible for. Not only did this experience affirm my love for animals, but it also jumpstarted me into a world of responsibility! Since then, we have rescued dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, happily welcoming “bully” breeds and giving them all the love and care they deserve! I’ve cared for elderly dogs and cats with and without disabilities, as well as those who need certain medications or injections. Further, big breeds do not intimidate me- I love them! Perhaps most importantly, I will love and care for your pet as if it were my own! ❤️ I am currently a graduate student at Virginia Tech, and as such, my weekdays are fairly busy until the evenings. If you need overnight care on the weekdays, let me know and we can work something out! I typically have a couple meetings in the mornings that I can conduct on zoom, but I do have in person class from 2-5 that I will need to leave your home for. Fridays and weekends, however, are wide open! I have two sweet, playful cats currently and live in an apartment, so it is likely that care will be provided in your house! I often find this is better anyway, as your pet is already comfortable in their home and less likely to feel stress with change.

About: My love for animals began at 8 years old with my two aquatic dwarf frogs named Rocky and Elvis and my hamster, Josie. In college, I fostered sick kittens from a local shelter. My first few years of living on my own allowed me to adopt my two cats, Piper and Blue. But it wasn’t until I moved into my first house with a yard that I knew I could provide a loving home for dogs, as well. I love all shapes and sizes, but big dogs have my heart. Currently my parents own an English Lab and a Chow Chow/ German Shepherd mix. Our first dog, Molly, inspired the paw tattoo on my inner wrist. I miss her every day. As for my cats: I had a roommate with a Boykin, and they hang out with an Australian Shepherd often. My cats would love to share their home with any furry friend! I am off during the summers because I teach, so I am pretty wide open with my availability for July. I am available for meet and greets and can meet at a public location, but in some circumstances I will be able to accommodate meet and greets at my home, so you can see where your sweet pet will be staying. I am comfortable hosting two dogs at once for now (this may change in the future). My cats stay in a separate room, but I do encourage clients to be up front about how their dogs feel about cats so I can prepare accordingly. When you bring your pet for their stay, please either pre portion their meals in separate bags, or have specific instructions for me (i.e. one cup of kibble, etc.). Please specify what treats (if any) they are allowed to have. I have the supplies that you will need so that you can confidently drop off your fur baby knowing that they will be taken care of and entertained during their stay. They’ll just need their harness (if used), as well as any toys from home they they can’t part with! I am on top of the weather and the heat fronts and have been enjoying early morning or late evening walks, always checking the temperature of the pavement first. While most dogs LOVE to fetch for hours in my backyard, their safety is my top priority and breaks will be well supplied throughout the day. Under no circumstance will your dog be allowed outside without me right there accompanying them. I am 5 minutes away from my personal and emergency vet, DeRolf. I am off all summer- I am available at all times every day of the week. I teach, so I need something to keep me busy this summer. I have a large, fenced in yard that dogs love to run and play fetch in. My home is comfy and dogs are allowed on / in any space in my home (we share furniture in these parts). I am very responsible and have pet sat in others homes multiple times. I have always appreciated the opportunity others have given me to make friends with their pet and care for them like they are my own.

About: Had a boxer for 11 years in my family and for the last 5 I was his caregiver. His name was Rocky and cancer took him unfortunately. Love all animals and will take care of yours as mine. They are family. Currently have a pretty open schedule so feel free to reach out. Im sure with enough time we can make it happen. From Monday to Sunday I can do 8am to 8pm I take care of my cats as owners of the house and family. I provide with my family liked to call "extreme and detailed pet care". They say I do too much, I say I do the bare minimum.

About: I'm that person where if you mention you have a dog, I want to meet them! I've been dogsitting since I can remember. With my current job, if my coworkers need a dogsitter, I'm there. They rely on me to walk, feed, and care for their pups as if it was my own. I currently work a job where I only work 3-4 days a week and have every weekend off. I'm unavailable on the days I work due to 12 hour shifts, but on my off days I'm available whenever! :) I have a friendly golden retriever pup who can give your furry friend company. I also have a crate upon your request and lots of toys!!

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life. I also currently work at the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center, so caring for animals is a daily thing for me while also caring for my own. The biggest dog I have experience with is a Great Dane while the smallest is a Yorkshire Terrier. I currently work at the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center part-time, so Rover will be more of a secondary income for me. I work with dogs, cats, and rabbits daily but also have experience with pets including hamsters and fish. My dogs are let outside at least 6 times a day. Those times definitely being morning, noon, evening, and night and some times in between. They are crated while I’m not home but while I am with them they freely roam. They even sleep with me.
