“Ailani is fantastic. I could find no one. I had a Dr. appt out of town and did not want Kiera alone for the whole day. This girl drove all the way from Pontiac to help me! Most importantly Kiera absolutely loved her and she kept me updated with photos. We can not wait to have her back!”

About: I was always the go to person for pet sitting in my family. Growing up, we always had at least one dog in the house. And I was fortunate enough to have had one for 16 years. Her name was Bear. She was the best family dog anyone could ask for and I miss her very much. She is the reason I love taking care of animals so much. Recently, I have become very fond of cats and live with 2 of them. They have stolen my heart and take care of them every day. I also have two reptiles which are my whole world. No matter what animal, I would love to take care of them. I’m the sitter for you! I am in between jobs at the moment so my schedule is very flexible right now. I am very open and honest so I’m very willing to for the schedule that’s best for you and your pet! I am not offering services in my home. As much as I would love to, I rent and cannot have a lot of animals staying with me. I’m sorry for the inconvenience!

“After a previous bad experience with a pet sitter, we are picky about who we ask to care for our fur babies. Nothing to fear with Alayna, who has been one of the best pet sitters we’ve ever had!! She’s been communicative with us, sends updates and photos every day, and I can tell my pets absolutely love her (even my independent old dog has warmed up to her!). We are so thrilled to have connected with someone who clearly takes pride in her work in caring for pets. Will definitely be using her for all our sitting needs.”

About: My pet care experience consists of having a dog throughout my childhood and adult years. I've always loved the companionship of owning a dog and also visiting or babysitting families and friends' dogs/cats. With having a dog comes a lot of responsibility and attention whether that's feeding, letting outside, physical activity, and training. I'm experienced in all of those qualities. The pet care that I will be using through the new dogs and cats I meet are the basics of giving treats, going for walks, and playing fetch or ball. Those basics are important and useful for dog caregivers because any dog would love the attention and care that you are giving them unconditionally. I'm also experienced in grooming with bathing the pet if needed. Whether that's outside with a hose and soap or inside in a bathtub. Dogs are my best friends and should be treated with love and companionship therefore I would treat the dog and make sure they are happy and comfortable but also safe and calm at all times. My schedule is very flexible and in the case of babysitting or walking a dog, I will be attentive and responsible. Since I currently have a dog at home I take her outside frequently, stay outside with her and walk around the backyard or throw a toy and play fetch or even just sit in the grass and give her belly rubs. My daily routine consists of letting my dog outside and hanging out with her off and on while also letting her have time to rest and chill by herself. My weekly routine is the same as my daily routine aside from additional car rides, pup cups, or cousin visits with other dogs. The safety, trust & Environment of the care for the pet in my home and or my client's home will consist of making sure all doors are shut when entering and exiting the home or garage. Also making sure the dog is on a leash and well equipped when walking through a neighborhood. I also have a fenced-in yard so I'm experienced with fences and the proper precautions if needed. I can easily create your dog too if needed. Also water supply and refilling the water bowl as needed and giving supplements or medicine also. Also will have the clients contact information in case of emergency.

“Mac is amazing! She took wonderful care of our three cats in our home for a week. She sent us photos every day, kept us updated, and was always so positive and communicative. We had complete peace of mind knowing our cats were well cared for. When we returned home, the house was spotless! We couldn't have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely book with Mac again. Highly recommend!”
About: Your pet will be treated like family with plenty of love, attention, playtime, and personalized care while you're away. I provide safe, attentive, and reliable care so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are in good hands. Pet care fits very well into my routine because I have a flexible schedule and work in the gig economy. That allows me to plan my day around the pets I'm caring for, whether that means walks, drop in visits, feeding, playtime, or giving them extra attention and companionship. I enjoy spending time with animals, and I make it a priority to provide reliable, consistent care while keeping owners updated along the way. Because I'll be caring for pets in their own home, my priority is keeping them comfortable by maintaining their normal routine. I'll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and any special care they need. I also make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while respecting your home and keeping everything clean and secure. I'll provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you're away.
About: I use to work with kids so nothing suprises me and I'm very good under pressure. I always find another way. I love all animals I'll even watch your other pets. I have taken care of dogs, cats, bunnies, fish, birds, and etc just ask. I'm always willing to learn. I will also work with dogs of all kinds even special needs of any kind or just special stuff needed to be done with them. A month and a half after getting my puppy she jumped out of my sister arms so I had a energized mini aussie on my hands that had to wear a splint for her broken leg. I'm ready for any challenge I work 38/40 hour weeks so I would pet sit before my shifts; after my shifts. If in Pontiac I would also do it during my hour lunch if needed It’s been years since I was an “official” pet sitter but really whatever the animal needs I am willing to do. Every animal needs slightly different care

“Outstanding sitter! She took exceptional care of our dogs and treated them like her own. We were especially grateful for how calmly and confidently she handled Pearl during a low blood sugar episode — it gave us total peace of mind while we were away. She went above and beyond in every way. We came home to happy pups and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been taking care/training dogs for 6+ years. I have worked with a professional dog trainer for about three years; training, boarding, walking, socializing, and generally taking care of them. I love training dogs cool tricks and basic obedience! I am currently enrolled full time in college, but am flexible in the early mornings, afternoons, and evenings seven days a week! Just let me know! I am experienced with taking care of/training multiple dogs, but would prefer working with one dog at a time (if you have multiple) until the dogs are at a comfortable level of training. This really varies on the animals, but I work with all situations.
About: **Please note: only one dog at a time will be boarded. Puppies must be at least 6 months old, with all vaccines and fully potty trained** I’ve always had a passion for dogs and found that spending time with them gives me the most joy. Please note: Puppies must be at least 6 months and completely potty trained and have all their vaccinations before I’m able to board them. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Verona walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Verona maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Verona choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Verona. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
