“Kimberly and Tim were so good with my Ziva when I had to go out of town for a few days. Ziva seemed to really enjoy her time there and she was well cared for. Also they let her sleep with them like she's used to with me. I'll totally use their services again if I need to!”

I loved getting the updates and pictures. I will definitely have Piper stay with them again! Thank you so much for caring for my dog!”

About: I’ve always had a love for animals! When I was younger we always had animals, from horses, hamsters, cats, dogs & even fish. I now have 1 Great Dane, 3 French bulldogs & 2 hairless cats! I would love to take care of your furry friend(s) while you’re at work or away from home whether it’s taking them for walks, doggie day care or even sleepovers! I am flexible with days & weekends, whatever hours you need. I am just looking for something that helps keep me busy in a small town and also something that I love doing! Contact me to take care of your furry friend, dogs need a little vacation too! I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I’m a huge animal lover and already have a daily routine centered around caring for my own pets. On my days off, I have plenty of time for walks, playtime, cuddles, and giving your furry family members the attention they deserve. I’m happy to discuss scheduling and accommodate your pet’s needs whenever possible! As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities, including large breeds. I always follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any specific routines you have in place. I provide a loving, clean, and comfortable environment with plenty of attention, affection, and supervision. I treat every pet like they’re one of my own!

“Annika and Nathan C were incredible. I was an idiot and booked a hotel that didn’t allow pets during a cross country move from the state of Mississippi. These two answered my last minute request, were instantly comfortable with my high energy cats, and saved me from a ton of stress. They sent pictures throughout the stay and even hand delivered them to me the next morning. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.”

About: Having grown up with dogs, I understand how important they are as family members. As a graduate student living away from home, I especially miss spending time with my family's dogs. I’ve also cared for my friends’ dogs, so I know every pet has their own personality and routine. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, I'll make sure they get all the walks, playtime, cuddles, love, and attention they need while following their regular routine to help them feel safe, comfortable, and happy! As a graduate student, I have class Tuesday and Thursday during the middle of the day and Monday evenings, so I am unavailable during those times. I also am an TA for a lab that runs 1pm-8pm Tuesday and Wednesday. Outside of class and lab, my weekday schedule is flexible. I have the most availability on weekends, and my evenings are almost always free for walks, drop-in visits, or overnight care. I care for every pet as if they were my own, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in yours. I live in a cozy apartment, but I’m surrounded by many dog-friendly areas and parks, which makes it easy to provide plenty of walks, exercise, and outdoor time. I always make sure pets receive the love, attention, playtime, and cuddles they need while following their normal routines to help them feel comfortable and secure. I also love sending updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away!

About: I lived on a farm and had all types of animals. I love dogs. Cats are fine, but I love dogs. My wife and I also had parakeets, finches, and cockatiels for a number of years. Since I'm retired, I'm pretty flexible. I like to walk, so taking your dog for a walk would be something I would very much enjoy. When the weather is nice, I enjoy going to dog parks with the dogs. Tell me what you want to do, and I will do it. If there are special needs, i would prefer them in writing. If I think I would not be a good fit, I will tell you. I would expect the same from the client.

“Mikala was amazing. We pre-met to see if the dogs would be a good fit for her to board and it went well. During the stay I got all kinds of updates and pictures. They were spoiled with dog park runs every day! And all the love and tuck ins for bed time that our spoiled girl gets at home. Would most definitely recommend and use again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Vance home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Vance.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Vance sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in ND ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
