I've been doing this the since moving back to Wisconsin in April 2024. I love taking care of pets like their my own. Once I have a fenced in yard, I will welcome another dachshund into my life, but until then I fill my cup with caring for other's doggos & kitty cats. I'm excited to meet you! Extra treats for pugs & extra belly rubs for the heavy weights that can fetch & return! I work from home & the days I'm traveling for work will be unavailable to book. We'll spend all day together! I've got a spacious yard, large back deck that gets direct sun light for the one's that like to bake, & if they get along with other dogs, sometimes I walk over to my sisters with them to meet my favorite pug, Potato! I live in a duplex on the bottom floor so it's easy in & out, no stairs. My yard is massive with lots of plants & trees to sniff around. I'll always take my fur friends outside on a leash. About: I have always had a dog growing up, so I learned from a very young age how to care for a pet. Friends and family have trusted me to take care of their dogs since I was around 12 years old. This includes stopping in the house to take them to the bathroom and feeding them, as well as giving medication if needed. Lots of snuggles and playtime too of course! I have taken care of dogs in the client's home for up to a week and cared for them at my home as well. No need to worry about any complex feeding schedules. I can manage it all. I am very comfortable with any age, breed, and sized dog! I have a one-year-old pup, so I am very familiar with training and puppy classes. I have volunteered at the humane society and when I was in high school, I job shadowed at a veterinary clinic. I currently work as a substitute teacher so my schedule is extremely flexible! I have a walking path across the street from my home and am walking distance to nature hill for some extra exercise. I always have water, waste bags and small treats with me when going on walks. (My dogs personal favorites are cheerios). I am comfortable walking with any leash, collar or harness. I have two kennels in my living room if your dog needs to be crated. At least one crate is big enough to fit a large or XL dog. I have a baby gate in front of my stairs, and the basement door is always shut. Lastly I do have experience fostering so I have had lots of experience with different personalities and types of dogs! I do have one dog at home who loves other dogs and loves to play as well as a cat who is dog friendly (for shorter stays she can be kept in a spare bedroom)My days off of work are fully open and I do not book more than 1 dog at a time, so your dog will have all my attention. I will send lots of pictures and updates as I understand it can be anxiety provoking to trust your dog with someone new! I do work full time, but only 3 days a week. This schedule varies week to week so while I don’t have a consistent schedule, my days off work can be fully devoted to you and your pet! On days I do work I am available for early morning or late evening drop ins The back part of my yard is fenced in so your dog will have lots of room to run around and explore. There’s also plenty of shade to keep them cool! I do live by a park and a small walking trail so I there are lots of ways for us to get our exercise in! If I am walking a dog in your home, I am flexible and accommodating and am comfortable using whatever methods/tools you prefer to keep your dog safe.
About: I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and have experience in pet sitting and the veterinary field for the past 20 years. I owned a pet sitting business for 5 years (2008 - 2012) and experience in general practice, emergency, specialty, and shelter medicine. Having a medical background allows me to pick up on medical issues and emergencies in a timely fashion, allowing for treatment if necessary. I am also able to administer medications as needed. I treat others' dogs the same way I treat my own pets and keep daily routines as close to their normal as much as possible. I work full time at a clinic and part time at the local humane society. I am available limited days during the week for walks and drop in services. Please see the calendar for up to date availability! I discuss your pets routine with you so I can keep it the same as possible during my visits. This helps keep your pet's schedule uninterrupted and allows for calmer and happier experiences!
About: Since my family got a chihuahua in 2011, I have loved dogs! And in 2021, my family got 2 new puppies! I only have owned small dogs but I volunteer at the Humane Society and have worked with dozens of dogs with different sizes and temperemants! Thursdays and Fridays are my most available days, but let me know what you need and I will find time! I am an online student so I don't have many time constraints! I can give your dog exercise and some extra loving when you don't have the time or energy. Enrichment time is important for all dogs, no matter the size or age!

Mercy loved it and we appreciated seeing how much thought was put into the spaces the dogs would be. They were also very accommodating with our requests.
