“Matthew provided excellent care for our dog Basil and frequent updates while we were out of town. When Basil got sick unexpectedly, he took him to the vet twice, made homemade chicken and rice, and helped administer medicine. This was a huge relief to us and his care was above and beyond! “Lorelei is such a great host! I have boarded my puppy with her about 5 or 7 times over the course of December 2015 and January 2016 and I can only say great things about her. Her apt is very welcoming to dogs as she always has fellow playmates around and has a patio area where they can eliminate. One time, my puppy jumped off the furniture wrong and had hurt himself. She called me immediately and also did the courtesy of contacting DogVacay’s own vet for advice. My experience of Lorelei is that she is very attentive to the dogs and cares for them as if they are her own. As a bonus, Lorelei also wrote me thank you cards! I have booked with someone else when she wasn’t available and now I have learned that if you’re going to book on DogVacay, choose Lorelei!”
“Peter was great with our dog. He sent pictures each day and told us how everything was going. Our dog got along with his dogs. We will use him again when we need him to care for our dog.”

“Amanda watched our working line GSD for over a week while we were in Hawaii and she has watched him in the past for doggy daycare. She is the real deal and it made all the difference knowing he was safe and well cared for while we were gone. You can tell she has a ton of experience with dogs and other animals. She loves them yes but also understands how to keep them safe and set reasonable boundaries. Her property is ideal for dogs too with a big fenced yard and kennels. 10/10 recommend!”

“James was kind, clear and promptly communicative. We were nervous leaving our 5 year old dog with someone for the first time for so long, but it was a great experience! Thanks James!”

“This was our first time leaving our beloved dog with Rafael and it will not be the last. She asked questions if she felt she needed to and Atlas had so much fun he's just slept since he got home (for an Irish Setter, this is a big deal! They're always going! ). We will 100% be working with Cara again, and Atlas cannot wait to go play with both of the Junipers again.”

“Emma was one of the sweetest people I’ve met on Rover. She is very kind hearted and loved to spend time with my dogs. I could definitely trust her being in my home, and I plan to continue her services in the future. Highly recommend Emma !!!”

“Deanna was great! She really does love cats, she spent time playing with our fur kids in addition to the normal feeding and litter cleanup. “Andrea and Bryce have been the kindest and most accommodating sitters. Their dog has been very sweet and friendly with my puppy and they were fast friends in no time! They took lots of photos and sent updates throughout the day which really eased my mind and confirmed my pup was in the best of hands. I’m new to the area, and even when they weren’t able to sit for my pup due to schedule conflicts, they recommended another trusted sitter and went above and beyond in helping me out. I feel so fortunate to have found a safe and loving family to take care of my puppy, and I can’t rec them enough!”

“So glad I was able to find Amanda for my pup! I appreciate how patient she is with him being so young/small and new to being around other pups. I also appreciate her knowledge and willingness to answer all of my questions. ?”

“Zara had a wonderful first time visit with Stacey and River & Birdie. Stacey made her feel comfortable around the bigger dogs and she loved the one-on-one attention from Stacey. My pup was happy and tired when I picked her up. I will definitely book with her again.”

“Thanks to Cara we had a wonderful first-time experience on Rover. Yoshi did his first Rover doggy day care and he had a blast. Cara took great care of him and her little girls took to Yoshi. He came home and promptly passed out. Expecting a lot more play dates in the near future. It's awesome to find another Corgi Mom. Thank you, Cara, for welcoming Yoshi into your home. We loved the photos you sent to us throughout the day and hope to add more memories.”

“Lauren was great! She was flexible on the drop off and pick up, and we were able to enjoy our day without worries. She sent a few pictures throughout the day and let us know the dogs were doing well.”

“We are very pleased with Cathleen and how well she cared for Lucy. We had a meet & greet first and then scheduled Lucy’s first visit for today. All I can say is that it’s a good life for a dog if they spend the day with Cathleen! Walks, beach, and naps!”

“We are so grateful to have found Felix! We asked him to help get our high-energy puppy used to in-home daycare, and he has gone above and beyond from day one. Before starting, Felix provided a detailed, thoughtful plan of how he intended to introduce Loki to his routine, which immediately put our minds at ease. After each session, he follows up with thorough feedback on how it went. He even takes the extra time to share practical tips and exercises we can practice at home to help Loki feel more comfortable in new environments. Loki is a work in progress, but Felix has been incredibly patient and genuinely willing to work with him to help him get the support he needs. We couldn't ask for a more attentive or dedicated dog sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets and house sitting since I was a kid, with over 15 years of hands-on experience including formal pet care and training. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and if I hadn’t ended up in tech, I probably would’ve become a vet! I work from home full-time, so your pet will get plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I also have a fully fenced backyard, which is perfect for safe playtime during boarding stays. I have experience with pets of all ages and needs — from energetic puppies to senior dogs who just want a calm, cozy environment. I live with my fiancé and our 2-year-old mini doodle, Bear. He’s about 15 lbs of pure sweetness and loves other dogs, but he’s also very good at giving space to pups who prefer a quieter vibe. If you’re considering boarding, I always want to make sure you’re fully comfortable with him sharing the home. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority! Work from home, daily care with a wide open schedule! Always happy to go on daily walks and keep your pet company throughout the day. I have a fully fenced yard and a sweet little doodle to keep your pet company. I also work from my computer, so quick to respond to messages and happy to send photos of your pet’s visit!

About: Hi my name is Emma, I live in Bremerton near the shipyard with my husband and our dog Bella. We have decided to open a dog daycare in our home after years of providing care for animals. I love animals and have been taking care of them my entire life. I have experience with dogs, cats, birds (including chickens), fish, and even horses. We have a fully fenced backyard complete with a doggy pool. I think it’s the perfect setting for dogs to socialize and play. I will of course keep an eye on them to break up any issues that might arise. We will have kennels available if necessary but for the majority of the time your dog will be able to explore and play. All dogs must be up to date on shots and be neutered/spayed. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I am home most of the time so my schedule is very flexible so I am available at most times. Also my dog could really use some friends to play with too. I have a fully fenced backyard with plans for fencing the front yard in the future too. I will have kennels available if separation is required. I will be keeping an eye on them too to prevent any potential issues.

She agreed to take care of our girls and came as requested. She was communicative during each walk and sent great pictures. We hope she'll agree to more walks in the future!”

About: Hi! I’ve been around animals my entire life, and caring for them has always been part of my everyday world. From a young age, my life has revolved around animals and helping them become the best versions of themselves. Some of my earliest experiences were with cats, including a feral rescue named Misty I bonded with closely as a child. I tend to connect well with animals that are more troubled, reactive, or unsure, and I’m often able to bring out their calmer, more trusting side. Later on in my life, my experience expanded significantly through raising and caring for Golden Retrievers. Growing up around breeding and long-term dog care taught me responsibility, consistency, and how much attention animals need at different stages of life. I’ve been involved in raising dogs from newborns to adulthood, and many of the dogs I’ve helped raise have gone on to become unforgettable adventure companions for their families. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve gained extensive experience working with animals through long-term, hands-on care. My background as a Golden Retriever breeder has given me perspective on how different animals can be, even within the same breed. Every animal has unique preferences, behaviors, and ways of communicating, and learning to recognize those differences has been a major part of my experience. I’m comfortable managing multiple animals at once and handling a range of needs without becoming overwhelmed. I’m most accustomed to larger dogs, but my experience raising puppies has given me the delicacy and awareness needed to care for smaller animals as well. I’m especially familiar with puppies under six months old, including their unpredictable behavior and the extra attention they require. I’ve also worked with dogs that can be semi-reactive in certain situations. While I’m not willing to take on dogs that are broadly aggressive, I retain the right to assess the dog before accepting. I’m most comfortable with working with dogs that are borderline reactive but not reactive-aggressive. I can recognize signs of stress or reactivity, and can manage dogs that are generally well-functioning but may need thoughtful handling in specific situations. I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for drop-ins and walks throughout the day, generally between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, unless I’m staying at a client’s home for house sitting. Animal care already shapes my daily routine, and I’m used to structuring my day around feeding schedules, exercise, outdoor exposure, and rest. I’m comfortable juggling different routines and planning time and resources around an animal’s specific needs. I’m very conscientious about safety and environmental risks. I pay close attention to doors, gates, toxic plants, household hazards, interactions with unfamiliar animals, and changes in an animal’s behavior. I rely on observation and experience to distinguish between normal behavior and something that may need attention. If something seems off, I communicate clearly and directly, providing context and details without being alarmist. I also enjoy sharing updates and photos so owners feel informed and connected while they’re away. I have experience filming and taking photos of animals especially dogs and cats that don’t sit still - so you’re bound to get a good photo or two of them.
“Lisa continues to be a great caregiver for our dog! We have used her services on several occasions and will continue to for the future. She has great communication and you can tell she really cares!”

About: I’ve grown up with pets my entire life, and am currently a dog mom to my wonderful fur baby. Throughout the years I have been entrusted to go to peoples houses and care for their dogs, take care of dogs in my own home, and have even been entrusted to care for newborn puppies until they were old enough to go to their homes. I have a special place in my heart for dogs, and I absolutely love any opportunity to meet all kinds of new furry friends and personalities!
“Elizabeth has been great for walking our dog when we have long work days. She’s very communicative and shares adorable pictures. Our dog seems to really enjoy her walks with Elizabeth. Highly recommend!”

About: Lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience! I grew up with multiple dogs and have spent years walking and caring for pets, including overnight stays. I’m comfortable with different routines, energy levels, and personalities—and I always make sure every dog feels safe, happy, and cared for. Mondays–Wednesdays are my off days and my most flexible time. I work Thursday–Sunday afternoons starting around 2, and my mornings are usually reserved for staying active—walks, workouts, or anything that gets me moving. I don’t have pets currently, but I’ve grown up caring for family and friends’ dogs and I’m comfortable with most breeds, prioritizing calm, safe, attentive care.
About: I have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages—everything from newborn puppies and kittens to sweet senior pets. I'm comfortable with puppy training basics like potty breaks, crate training, and building a routine, and I know how to support older pets with a calm and patient approach. I also love staying active, so I enjoy taking dogs on long walks or hikes to keep them happy and healthy. I offer house sitting too, making sure your pets feel safe and loved, and your home is treated with respect while you're away. As an online student, I have a flexible schedule that lets me balance my studies with pet care. I can easily accommodate regular walks, feeding times, or house sitting, ensuring your pets receive the attention they deserve :) When I care for pets in your home, safety and comfort come first. I make sure to follow any routines or specific instructions you’ve provided, so your pets feel relaxed and secure. I always ensure the environment is safe, clean, and pet-friendly. Most importantly, I give your pets the attention they need, keeping them happy and comfortable while you're away. You can trust that I’ll treat your home and pets with the same care and respect I’d give my own.

Following the routine and rules of the home including boundaries both for the animals and myself very important to me. Willing to clean dog mess if supplies are available.
“We used Zi for a few days to walk our German Shepherd puppy. She was prompt and gave a great report for our pup. Overall we are happy with the walks and our dog look like she enjoyed them as well.”

About: We are a husband and wife duo who both grew up with animals and have been fostering and watching dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes. We truly believe our fur babies deserve the best! We have 2 dogs and 3 cats currently, all of which are used to being around other dogs/cats. We want to help you feel good about leaving them so lets us know what we can do to help! Please note that Jerry primarily does drop in visits and we both help with boarding. If you have questions on care, just let us know! I work from home and my husband is a stay at home dad to our two young children so we can provide whatever care is needed, including frequent bathroom breaks, medicines, etc and lots of love! We have a large back yard that is fully fenced in. Our 25 pound terrier loves to play so your fur baby will have friends! I can also provide a separate room or crate for your baby if needed.
About: I have been taking care of dogs from a very young age, and I have been a professional sitter and boarder for a little over 3 years now. I recently moved to the area and am looking to rebuild my clientele. I am an animal advocate who has spent a lot of time volunteering with different agencies to help find forever homes for abandoned fur babies, and working for programs that went out and helped the homeless get the right care for their pets. I have experience with hyper pets, shy pets, large and small. I love them all the same. Let me spoil your babies while you’re away, and take comfort in knowing that they are safe and loved with me. I am currently an online student and doing a part time work from home job, so I will be home and available for them all day besides appointments or errands I have a large fenced yard that I make sure to walk the perimeter of to make sure there are no escape points. I also have a huge deck for them to lounge on and they have free roam of my home. I do have a toddler in the home, she is very shy with animals and has grown up learning the importance of being gentle and nonintrusive with them.
About: I've had animals a part of my family since I was born. Growing up it was my responsibility to take care of them - feeding, watering, walking, and cleaning up after their messes. I often looked after our neighbors' pets as well. I have experience with large and small dogs, various temperaments of cats, pets in their "baby" phase as well as older pets who need extra care and love. I am good with all breeds of dogs and cats. I like to give each pet time to get comfortable with me before entering into their space. I consider each pet I meet a new friend to bond with over play, walks, and snuggles. :) I am regularly a house cleaner who runs her own business in the local area, so this gives me the opportunity to be available to pet owners and their pet's needs. I currently care for 4 different family's pets throughout the year and have rarely come into a scheduling conflict. I like to give people the freedom they need in their life while not having to worry about their pet's needs. I do not currently have the space to care for other people's pets in my home but am willing to stay in their home overnight to accommodate their needs. I like to have the pet owners make a list of things I should know about their pets. This could be special needs, dos and don'ts, typical schedule for feeding, bedtime, etc., pet's favorite spot to lay or toy to play with. That way the pet(s) can stay closer to what they know for lower stress.
About: I’ve had animals my whole life! I’ve grown up with cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and even a pet rat! I love animals and want to spend time with them as much as possible! I believe animals are definitely humans best friend and should be treated accordingly! My experience over the years has taught me how to care for and respect an animal. I also have experience with giving oral medication and providing updates to owners about how their pets are doing while in my care. I’m currently a caregiver and have a very flexible schedule to accommodate drop ins, or overnights. My current schedule allows me to be super flexible as well. Caring for someone animal is like having another one myself. I do like detailed information about what a dog or cat likes and dislikes. I also want to make sure that the animal feels comfortable with me being around and that the owner feels good about leaving them in my capable hands!
“I went out of town for 6 days and Craig was able to walk, feed, and provide companionship for my dog. He was well liked by Obi and when I arrived back he was happy to show me Craig with his tail wagging. Craig provided exactly what Obi needed.”

“I left my 100 lb old arthritic dog with Andrea for a week, and she did an amazing job. She was extremely attentive and understanding about my dog's needs, and everyone in her household went out of their way to accommodate my dog and make her feel welcome. She sent daily photo updates and reached out immediately with any questions or concerns.”

“Sarah was great! Little Harvey had a great time playing with Sarah’s dogs and she made sure he had nap times as he is still a puppy. She sent updates and photos which made me happy.”

“Cynthia was really communicative and flexible with my schedule. She also provided a great place for my curious dog to explore and play, so he seemed really happy with his stay.”

“Neci and her spouse are very knowledgable and kind, and well prepared to handle your pup! Our puppy came back home happy and tired after getting to socialize and play with the other dogs and kiddos in their house!”

“Our pup had a nice visit with Sarah and Odin. We were impressed with Sarah’s calm and kind demeanor. She communicated well and is being great about working with us to prep our puppy for a longer stay in July.”

“Brianna was fantastic with Dune. She kept me updated with frequent pictures and videos. He was playing, napping, and didn’t appear stressed or anxious at all. Overall, she did an excellent job! Thank you.”
