About: I’ve been a mom to small dogs most my adult life. I currently have a chill 7 lb shih tzu mix that would love company on our two daily walks. I work part-time and am never away for more than 4 hours. (Often my college age son is home when I’m out) I’ve taken care of very young pups as well as older dogs requiring medications and special diets. I’m responsible and loving, doing my best to keep pups content while their people are away. I’m communicative and responsive and provide daily pupdates. I work two to three days a week for no more than 4 hours, so I’m home a lot. I have a 6 year-old shih tzu mix that I walk twice a day so I have a good routine established. My college age son lives with me and is super helpful and responsible. Generally if I’m out, he’s home to give extra potty breaks and belly rubs. My back yard is quite big and securely fenced-lots of room for sniffing! My house is cozy and comfortable-I’m happy to have pups on my lap on the couch and in my bed for the night.

About: I've been sporadically dog sitting for a couple years. I grew up with my family doing a lot of foster care for dogs so I ended up meeting a lot of different personalities. My parents are on their third rescue dog from a shelter. I live near a couple parks and a dog park. My neighborhood is a residential area so it's pretty quiet both during the day and night. I currently work from home, so no dogs will be left unattended. The yard is fenced in the front and back. I live with my male partner with no children. Let me know if your dog's temperament with other dogs and people. I look forward to meeting your dog! I work remotely full-time. I can provide breaks through out the day and don't have to do a lot of meetings or calls. I will usually try to do two longer walks, a midday and evening walk. I helped build a dog daycare here in Seattle, so I’ve spent years learning how dogs actually behave—who wants to play, who needs a break, and how to make sure everyone stays safe and happy. At home, we keep that same vibe—but way more personal. Our dog Bud (2 years old) is the host. About: I've spent all my life around dogs and learned from an early age the importance of boundaries – for humans and pets – and how to adjust my energy to best suit the dog I'm working with. Most dogs with behavioral struggles just need some structure, support, and patience, and I'm happy to provide all to your pets! I've lived with several breeds in the past (Papillon, Pomeranian mix, Labrador, Boston Terrier, and other mixed breeds), and have learned the grooming needs of their different coats, so I'm always willing to take on some brushing and paw trimming when needed! I've spent much of my teen years caring for senior and disabled dogs, including partial blindness and deafness, administering medication (pills and eye drops), mobility restrictions, and anxiety. If you have a smart dog who likes to get up to some trouble, trust that I know just what you're going through! I'm prepared to work with dogs who need some extra mental stimulation. As a former Papillon owner, I know small dogs tend to pack a big personality, but I'm up for the challenge! I work for college art departments and some art studios around Seattle about 2-5 times a month, but I'm otherwise free during weekdays and weekends! I take public transit, so any transportation by me would be by walking or bus/lightrail, and I will always let you know in advance if I plan to take public transit. I am disabled and use a cane or hip brace to assist in long walks or uneven terrain. I am perfectly comfortable with walking dogs around the neighborhood or to dog parks, but I am not able to run with them. I always try my best to respect the habits and preferences of the family while in their home, as consistency and respect is key to building a healthy relationship with animals. Some additional information that I always find helpful is what commands the dog knows, any medical issues to look out for, behaviors that you want to be reinforced or discouraged, preferred methods of rewarding behavior, and what their personal routines are (evening naps in certain places, preferences for sleep and dinner time, etc.). When it comes to puppies, it's very important they continue to have the same expectations and boundaries as they have with their owners, so I will do my best to continue with their usual routines while you are away. When it comes to senior dogs, they often rely heavily on routine and consistency for navigation and comfort due to hearing and eyesight issues, and I always want to do my best to make sure they are as comfortable as possible!

Pet care is a significant part of my life, and I have set aside time in my schedule to provide attentive and compassionate care on weekends, Mondays, and Tuesdays. I am available Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For an additional fee, I am also available to work on Wednesdays through Fridays starting after 9:00 a.m. I offer flexibility on weekends if extra care is needed, as well as overnight stays and holiday care upon request. By focusing my care on these specific days, I can give each animal my full attention, patience, and love, ensuring a positive and supportive experience every time we are together. Every pet deserves to feel safe, respected, and comfortable in their environment. Whether I'm caring for pets in my own home or in a client's home, I prioritize creating a calm, structured, and positive space tailored to each animal’s needs. In my home, pets enjoy enrichment activities such as lick mats, playtime, and plenty of cuddles throughout the day. I have a fully fenced backyard with 6+ foot tall fences for safe outdoor play and private areas where dogs can rest undisturbed if they need a break from other animals. Every animal is welcome on the couch for snuggles and is encouraged to feel at home. I utilize gentle, positive reinforcement and maintain clear, consistent routines to help pets feel secure. For animals with fear, anxiety, or a history of trauma, I prioritize slow introductions, patience, and fear-free handling to build trust at their own pace. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and routines, ensuring that pets' surroundings remain familiar and stress-free. I follow instructions regarding feeding, medication, exercise, and behavior protocols closely, maintaining consistency and safety. I am also attentive to environmental safety—checking gates, securing leashes, and removing hazards—and I communicate regularly with pet parents to provide peace of mind. My goal is always to provide gentle, reliable care that fosters trust and confidence in both pets and their humans.

“Alora gave me a scare and stole chicken bones from the trash right before we were going to drop her off with Kirsten! We double and triple checked Alora wasnt going to need a vet visit, and Kirsten kindly accommodated a slightly later dropoff & some fasting + bland food requests the next day from the vet. That's thankfully as complicated as it got and Alora's stay was uneventful, but Kirsten kept this pet parent happy that Alora was in good hands and I was across the country for a few days 🙂 can't thank her enough.”

When I normally leave Edie at her doggy daycare to travel, she barely eats and seems anxious when I come to pick her up. Not the case this time! Edie ate all the food I had packed for her along with all the treats! She loved running around and puppy style wrestling with Hazel! Jana gave me updates twice a day with pictures and videos of the ladies playing. I truly do believe that Edie had a dog vacay with Hazel and Jana!”

“Mahlan was a great sitter for my dog, Raya. Consistently sent photos and videos of her, and also keeping me updated with her daily activities. Raya can be a little challenging at times, but I definitely felt comfortable that Mahlan would be able to handle her. “I highly recommend Elle for all your dog sitting needs. She was warm, communicative, and most importantly, took great care of our two dogs. She seems to truly love and understand our dogs and is very patient and affectionate toward them. One of them is quite young (just over a year) and high energy and I felt confident that Elle would be able to manage him and make sure he got what he needed and he even made new pup friends while he was there, which is great for his socialization! Our other dog is older and much mellower and was on several medications, and Elle made sure he got them all when needed. I’ve worked with several dog sitters over the years both on and off Rover and I can say that Elle is one who I have great confidence in to handle any situation! Highly recommend!”
