I was nervous leaving Archie with a new sitter at first, but she took great care of Archie. Jerica works from home. She has a yard and an adorable corgi so our beagle had someone to play with. “Lovely people, good care. Both Rachid and Ruth are very pleasant to connect with and they were great about ensuring they knew the lay of the land for the sit. Ruth was the one did the sit, staying overnight and working from the house during the day. When she came to drop off the key, Roo came running into to the room to say hello, followed soon by Zoe so Ruth and cats had obviously connected (Leo is more independent, so his absence is not an indicator). Ruth accommodated a somewhat complicated sit. Roo, who was just joining the family, was in the living room apart from the other two cats. This meant working during the day while hanging out with Roo and also hanging out with the other cats in the evening and sleeping with them. She dealt with a number of dead rats, courtesy of lethal Leo who often does nightly neighborhood hunts. Ruth also sent pics and let us know what was going on (e.g. racoon in the yard) Everything was clean and tidy on return. Would definitely work with Ruth and Rachid again.”
About: I grew up helping care for our family cat for about 10 years, and I still care for my mother’s cat when she travels. I provide clear updates and photos so you know how your cat is eating, behaving, and adjusting while you are away. I would happily have a cat of my own, especially a Sphynx, but my German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois have other opinions. Caring for other people’s cats gives me the opportunity to enjoy their company while providing the reliable, attentive care I would want for my own pet.

Sauron is very shy and took some time to warm up, but Brenda followed our instructions to separate them at mealtime and made sure he felt safe enough to actually eat (he finished 80% of his dinner on the last visit!). She even took the time to search for him when he was hiding under the reclining chair. She kept us updated with detailed cards, photos, and videos every visit, stayed 30+ minutes each time, cleaned all the litter boxes, and made sure even our more skittish boy felt comfortable. Smaug, our social one, was well entertained with treats. We could tell Brenda genuinely cared about both of them. We’ll definitely be booking her again!”

About: I grew up with pets, from large to small. My sibling and friends always rely on me fostering their dogs and cats. I work from home and won’t leave your pets alone. My husband and I work full time from home, so your pets will always be attended to. They will pretty much hang out with us while we go about our day. My husband starts walking all of the dogs at around 8am. I will open my fenced yard at midday for a midday pee break. My husband will come back at around 6:30pm to give all of the dogs another walk. We usually feed the dogs their morning and evening meals after they come back from their walks. We will open the yard again before bed for a late night pee break.
About: I consider myself to be a loving and caring person, saving the most room in my heart for dogs and other furry friends. Dogs have always been part of the family - from my grandparents’ tradition of always having a little white dog to caring for large rescue dogs with difficult pasts. This was most apparent in my relationship with my own dog, Fille, who passed in June 2025. During our last year together, I got first-hand experience with not only senior care but disabled dog care; Fille was living with partial paralysis in her hind legs, and so I learned how to best support her mobility on walks and take care of pain management, physical therapy, and other special needs as they arose. I would love to treat your dog with the same compassion and love and look forward to many future walks and visits! I work from home with a flexible schedule, so I can care for pets on any schedule. I do sometimes travel for work, but my availability will surely be updated with plenty of advance notice to accommodate any pet parent’s needs! Pets would be allowed full range of my home, and I ensure that any potential hazards (cords, garbage, etc.) are properly stowed away and cannot be accessed by any four-legged friends. If desired, I have space to accommodate a kennel. Living very close to a big park, I’m an avid explorer of the grounds and loved to take breaks out there with my furry friend, Fille. My apartment building has a shared entrance, but I have a good rapport with my neighbors and can take any precautions if requested. Oliver is a 2-year-old mini poodle who we rescued just over a year ago. PLEASE NOTE: To make sure your pup has a comfortable stay, we require a meet-and-greet playdate prior to booking. We want to make sure that we are a good fit for your dog's needs! While we love all our furry friends, due to allergies in our family we are only able to take low-shedding, hypoallergenic dogs right now. One of us works from home, so your pup will get attention and care throughout the day. We like to start and end our days with a long walk in Volunteer Park. Oliver's other favorite activities include sleeping on the couch next to me while I work or perched on the back of couch, where he can look out the window and get a great view of all the neighborhood happenings. Your pup would be cordially invited to do the same! We use positive reinforcement training with Oliver and bring treats on all our walks to reward good behavior. If there are specific behaviors you want us to upkeep during your pup's stay, please don't hesitate to let us know. About: My husband and I live in North Capitol Hill with our Malinois and German Shepherd. As the owner of a dog I trust with very few people, I understand how stressful it can be to hand someone else the leash or access to your home. My strongest experience is with large, intelligent, high-energy dogs. I have raised both of my dogs from puppyhood: a German Shepherd and an 85-pound rescue Belgian Malinois with anxiety and reactivity. I regularly walk both dogs together, managing nearly 200 pounds of energy, strength, and occasional squirrel chasing. On walks, I am fully present and not distracted by my phone. I continually monitor for approaching dogs, traffic, cyclists, tight spaces, environmental triggers, and safe alternate routes. I understand that responsible handling often means preventing a difficult situation instead of waiting until one has already developed. That same awareness carries into the home. I am used to dogs who can open doors, get past barriers, jump onto counters, move large objects such as trash cans, and reach hazards that many people would never anticipate. I carefully check for medications, food, trash, unsecured doors, and anything else a curious or determined pet might access. With smart dogs, the smallest overlooked detail can quickly become a much larger problem. My experience also includes: • Puppies, including house-training routines, frequent potty breaks, consistency, and managing chewing or mischievous behavior • Senior dogs who may require a slower pace, extra patience, mobility accommodations, or closer observation • Anxious and reactive dogs who benefit from structure, space, calm communication, and predictable routines • Cats, including feeding, litter-box care, play, companionship, and following each cat’s preferred level of interaction I do not assume that experience with my own pets means I automatically understand yours. Every animal has different routines, triggers, boundaries, medical needs, and quirks. I welcome detailed instructions and honest information about behavior, anxiety, reactivity, past incidents, or anything I should avoid. That information does not intimidate me. It allows me to provide safer and more confident care. My schedule is flexible because I do not work a traditional nine-to-five job. I am currently on summer break while finishing my degree in interior design, and I can accommodate weekday and weekend walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and recurring care depending on location and timing. When school resumes, most of my time will be spent working independently on my capstone project, with only a few scheduled classes each week. I do not take dogs off leash unless we are in a fully enclosed area and the owner has specifically approved it. Trust also means communication. I provide clear updates and will contact you if I notice anything unusual, including changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or bathroom habits. I would rather ask a question than make an assumption. I also have a large SUV and reliable transportation. If urgent veterinary care is ever necessary, I can safely transport dogs of various sizes, follow the owner’s emergency instructions, and keep them informed throughout.

About: I have had dogs since I was a kid, I can navigate puppy-hood to senior care. I have experience with big and small, separation anxiety, on and off leash behavior issues. As for cats, I didn't find my feline affinity until a bit later in life. I had my own cat (miss him so!) and I have volunteered at PAWS Cat City for more than a decade where I assist with adoptions, cleaning, cat socialization and care. I even volunteer and help out with the care of local mini horses. Can you believe there are mini horses in the city?!? I have finite bandwidth but I will communicate clearly to be sure that I am a right fit for your pet. I am eager to help pet parents and provide quality care to their furkids. I live in Madison Valley and have a single family home with a completely fenced in back yard with lots of terrain and territory to explore.
About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I enjoy building trust with each dog and creating a calm, positive environment where they feel safe and happy.
