About: I have had cats on and off throughout my life and have taken care of neighbors’, friends’, and family members’ cats since I was 10. I currently have two handsome long-haired boys who both receive medications for different issues, including injections for one of them. They’re also trained to sit, give paw, and allow me to examine their ears and teeth. I love cats and am experienced in building relationships with them and looking for signs of injury, pain, or illness with cats I know. I also walk one of our cats on a leash regularly and am used to carrying him in a cat backpack. If you’re looking for someone who will understand your cat’s idiosyncrasies and give them all the care and attention they want, I’m your person.
“My husband and I had planned and booked a 2 week bucket list trip to Peru and were set to leave in 7 weeks. We had arranged our normal pet sitter that we’ve used for years to come and take care of our (almost) 15 year old cat, Mr. Christmas. It was around that time that Mr. Christmas stopped eating. Mr. Christmas had no real health conditions, no meds…and he was declining fast. After extensive testing, imaging, and seeing a specialist, he was diagnosed with either IBD or cancer and was going to need a lot of follow up. He was on multiple oral medications and he still wasn’t eating great. I couldn’t leave him in the house with someone who can only come see him once a day. He needed more support and our normal pet sitter couldn’t provide that for him. I was fully prepared to cancel the trip, but thought I’d go on Rover to see if anyone could match what we were looking for and if anyone would be willing to do what we were asking. We needed three, hour-long visits daily, forcing food at him, weighing him, and administering multiple daily medications. I found Melanie explaining what I was looking for, and I was really impressed that she was up early at 4:30am to message me. Melanie communicated with me each week leading up to our trip. We initially didn’t have a diagnosis and I needed vet clearance to leave him. Melanie asked many questions, and when we finally were told that he was stable enough to leave, she came over to our house with a list of questions to go over with us. He’s got a bit…a lot…of an attitude. She made sure that she didn’t approach him and waited for him to come to her. She was so thoughtful about every detail of their interaction in front of us. My husband and I both felt that even though she is a stranger to us, there was something calming about her and she was very professional. We knew Mr. Christmas would be okay, but I wasn’t expecting him to thrive the way that he did. Melanie never missed a visit. She never asked for anything from me. She communicated with me daily throughout the two weeks. She braved picking him up to put him on the scale multiple times. Mr. Christmas gained weight with Melanie. He wasn’t gaining weight with me at home, but she is just that good. Pictures of Mr. Christmas started with him sleeping alone, and then he got closer and closer to her on the couch. He even started inviting her to watch him in the litter box (I’m mortified), but he only does this with “his people”. Our dog came to visit at home a few days to see Mr. Christmas (they are besties), and Melanie had no problem cuddling our dog while visiting Mr. Christmas. To describe Melanie in one or two words, I would say she is easygoing and pays great attention to detail. She makes everything seem easy and carefree, and my anxiety really appreciated that on this trip. I got home from 15 days away from him, and he is this thick ball of fluffy happiness. He was WELL taken care of. We could have never gone on this trip without Melanie. She is a true gem and I will be referring anyone and everyone I know to her. About: Our dogs have been our best friends for 20 years. We give them the treatment they deserve such as tons of pampering, love and care! We are retirees looking to fill our days and as pet lovers we decided we should share that time and love to other furbabies! About: I've been a pet lover since I was a kid. I started with frogs, lizards and snakes, and graduated to cats and dogs. Until I was able to have dogs of my own, I spent over 10 years pet-sitting for friends and family, volunteering in animal shelters, and have even worked in 2 seperate doggy daycares. My MO is always long walks and lots of attention. I have 2 dogs of my own, a cumulative 17 years of pet raising experience. I have experience caring for sick pets and administering medication both orally and subcutaneously. I've had my pups since they were young and would consider them very well trained. If you're looking to work on certain behaviors, I can absolutely work on that during their stay. I have a fenced yard, a safe neighborhood for long walks, and for longer stays, expect your dog to enjoy a nice hike! I mostly work from home, so for daycare your dog(s) would never be alone and would have access to my fully fenced backyard whenever they want. During the week, I can do a long walk during my lunch break, and another after work. Weekends I tend to go hiking, so if your pup enjoys nature, they will for sure have a great time. Due to my variable work schedule, I cannot accommodate recurring appointments. My yard is fully fenced, and I have 2 friendly dogs. Safety is paramount, so dogs would be supervised while in the yard together. If your dog requires a crate, I have both a plastic and soft sided kennel for indoors.

About: We are an active dog loving family in Olympia. We love to get out to Capital Forest on the weekend or run or walk to our local parks. We work from home most days and otherwise work close to home. We work full-time from home 3 days per week and venture into the office a short distance 2 days per week. Our early morning feed and walk routine makes us ideal for hosting your pet at our place or for making a morning visit to care for your dog. We have a fenced front and back yard. The fence is high (6ft). We offer a quiet environment with much dog lounging to be had as well as playtime outside or in. Our wooded side lot offers many birds, sounds and smells for dogs to enjoy.

About: I have worked with both puppies and senior dogs, i have 2 poochon puppies that are 1 year old. I am currently going to school to be a vet technician and I volunteer at the animal shelter in the cat and dog rooms. I have experience handling all different types and sizes of dogs. Im a college student and currently working part-time in the late afternoons. So I have plenty of time to walk, play and give potty breaks! I have a fenced yard suitable for small to medium dogs. I have a large room that I can close off that has tile flooring and access to the backyard and also have pens if dogs need to be separated.

As well as helped raise another cattle dog until he was 8yo and have cared for and loved many different animals over the years I'm working part time and make up my own schedule. I'm a proud German Shepherd mama who would love to add a short term or extended stay buddy for Miss Ziva. Now that I work from home full time, my pupper needs a friend! “Erica was very attentive and loving to our dog Calvin. He gets so stressed when we go out of town, which in turn causes me a lot of anxiety for leaving him. I was able to talk to Erica before our trip and ask questions, reiterate Calvin's likes and dislikes and just get a general feeling of how she would handle any situations that could potentially pop up. They got along so well that I don't think Calvin was ready to come home, HA! I received several updates throughout my trip and it was clear that she was taking care of him just as I would be. 💚”

Finn has anxious behaviors, so she asked many questions to make sure his stay was comfortable when he stayed. When Finn had his overnight, she sent multiple updates with pictures. She had toys for finn that he loved and he loved relaxing on her couch. It was a home away from home. We’re very grateful it went so well.”
