About: My pet care experience began when I joined a humane society volunteer program where I worked for 6 years and became a shift lead. Later, I worked at a doggy daycare and overnight pet hotel. There I worked with specific dog’s needs and care as well as managed a group of up to 60 free-roaming dogs (yes, it was as amazing as it sounds) I have worked as a pet sitter and dog walker for most of my life, and I have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I have also worked with horses for most of my life and in the summers I care for horses on a large farm. They are pretty much a bunch of big, funny, puppies. We live in the Silver Beach neighborhood and have recently lost our sweet little poodle and now that our children are grown and gone, I feel I can provide a safe, reliable, and fun space for dog parents who need a sitter. I am a homemaker who enjoys, hiking, and biking and being in the outdoors. I travel to see our son who is in college at UNC but for the most part am here in Bellingham and available for dog sitting. I am very particular about who I entrust them with while I am away, so I understand the stress that goes into finding the ideal sitter. I do not use loud voices or sounds with animals, and believe that motivators and positive reinforcements work best. If they do something that might impact the space, I will reach out to you and troubleshoot to the best of my ability, NOT display anger toward them. I am attentive to all grooming and hygiene habits, and even if I am just scheduled for feedings I promise to give them some love and affection/playtime if it seems they’re interested. I truly pet sit for the love of animals and want to make the process as easy and fun as possible for all pets and their humans!
