“So glad we found Sarah to watch our pups. We were heading out of town for a few days over a holiday weekend and needed to find a sitter on short notice. She came to our rescue. She was very quick in her response. Within 10 minutes of my request we had a meet and greet set up for the next afternoon. Our two dogs were a little excited during that meet and greet, but that didn't phase her. She knew that was most likely due to the new situation. This was my first time leaving the dogs with anyone else and she made me feel at ease doing so. One of our dogs took a while to settle in and relax and she was gracious enough to allow him to do so in his own time. She was willing to make changes to her home to accommodate our dogs. Sarah is friendly and easy going. She sent pictures and updates everyday. We will definitely use her again!”

About: Over the past year I have been job shadowing with a dog trainer, volunteering at animal santuaries and shelters, and studying dog behavior through books and observation to be able to provide the best care possible for your dog! I worked as a dog walk, and care giver for while in Bellingham but recently moved back home to beautiful Spokane. Taking care of dog has been the most fullfilling job I have ever had. Previously I was a holistic health counselor but being able to apply healthy behaviors to dogs has become my focus. About: I am a big animal lover and can help with many things needed to give your animal the best care! have had many pets throughout the years; Cats, dogs, rabbits and chickens. I have also helped watching others pets. I have been a stay at home mom and with my kid going back to school I will have plenty of time available throughout the week. I do not have a fenced yard but I do have a big yard in a great neighborhood. I have chickens as well as an indoor cat that is 9 years old.

About: I’ve had dogs around me my whole life; from active labs to precocious cocker spaniels to mutts with needs, I’m happy to provide the care your pets need while you’re away. I’m flexible with all play styles and feeding habits, all while staying firm against begging for food we can’t have and keeping a close eye on problem behaviors such as digging or pillow ripping. I love all kinds of dogs, from hyperactive to couch potatoes, malamutes to chihuahuas, puppies to senior dogs. I’ll be sure to keep your fluffy friends entertained and well kept while you’re away! As for walking, I always strive to make sure your four legged friend has their share of exercise and fresh air. My time is currently open to weekdays from 6 am to 11 pm. I’m happy to check on your pets multiple times a day to keep up with their schedules, and am happy to follow plans as needed. I do my best to follow any instructions provided for your pet. I’m happy to play, take pets outside into yards or for walks in the neighborhood to get their energy out, feed them on their schedules, and visit multiple times a day to keep your pet happy and entertained. I have a preference for crate trained dogs, but for those more well-behaved, I have no qualms. As for cats, I’m happy to keep quiet and leave them to their own pace, letting myself be available to them while not invading their space.

About: Since growing up I have always taken care of animals; big and small! I have worked with and trained service dogs. I am able to be gentle, patient, and open, but also strong when needed. I am able to administer medication when needed, and have taken some vet classes for both big and small animals! I go on daily walks already allowing me to take your pup out for a good walk and burn energy I can easily crate your pup, I do not have a fence but areas for them to run around. About: I won't just treat them as a "pet" I treat all animals as family. I have taken care of various dog and cats from family members and friends since I was a child. This included staying over, walking, feeding, training and playing with not just dogs, also goats and chickens too! At the moment I am pursuing schooling for dog training so I have open availability for walks and drop ins! I usually ask for a days notice but it never hurts to ask. I have had experience with larger dogs (German shepherds, Great Pyerenese, Pitbulls and Saint Bernards) as well as small dogs (Chihuahua's, Shih Tzu and Dachshunds). About: Over the past year I have been job shadowing with a dog trainer, volunteering at animal santuaries and shelters, and studying dog behavior through books and observation to be able to provide the best care possible for your dog! I worked as a dog walk, and care giver for while in Bellingham but recently moved back home to beautiful Spokane. Taking care of dog has been the most fullfilling job I have ever had. Previously I was a holistic health counselor but being able to apply healthy behaviors to dogs has become my focus. Dog are such special animals and deserve to be treated with unlimited kindness, patience and love. The dog trainer I job shadowed would say, "it's not okay to hurt a dog, not even their feelings" and ever since it has been my motto.

About: I have always been a lover of animals, growing up around many dogs, cats, and farm animals of all shapes and sizes. I began caring for animals at a young age, and continue to center my life around my furry friends. Working with easily excited or skittish animals is my specialty as I have taken training through a Washington state rescue on dealing with animals with separation/new people anxiety. I hope to meet your best friend(s) soon! I work part time as an event bartender usually from about 4pm-10pm plus commuting time. I will do my best to adhere to your pet's schedule around this. About: I have volunteered at an animal rescue for about 2 years and I have a puppy who I trained and have cared for in the past year. I also have had cats all my life and have fostered pregnant kitties until their kittens were old enough to be adopted. I am currently at home most days, so long as I have some advanced notice I should be able to make anything work. The more time I have the more likely I am to be able to fit you in. I have a wide variety of leashes, dog toys, treats, and other supplies that I can use when working with your pets or I can work with their existing favorites if that is what is prefered. I will spend ample time playing with and caring for you pet. I signed up for Rover because I want to spend lots of time with your pets. If you want I can even help some with training because that is something I am studying and hoping to make a career of. I can take frequent potty breaks as needed and go on long walks if that's what your pet enjoys. I will sculpt the time I spend with your pet just how you want and try to replicate, if not improve the care you would provide if you were there.
