Finn has anxious behaviors, so she asked many questions to make sure his stay was comfortable when he stayed. When Finn had his overnight, she sent multiple updates with pictures. She had toys for finn that he loved and he loved relaxing on her couch. It was a home away from home. We’re very grateful it went so well.”

About: I have been taking care of Dogs, Cats, and small Reptiles for a combined 10 years. I love to snuggle on the couch, go for walks, and chase the local squirrels. I have a full time time job my hours are 5am - 1:30pm Monday - Friday I also have a small gig job that ranges in schedule, will communicate hours when necessary. My two cats are pretty laid back, other than needing pets 24/7. Growing up and have had to manage many different types of pets, from super hyper and playful to couch potatoes.

“My husband and I had planned and booked a 2 week bucket list trip to Peru and were set to leave in 7 weeks. We had arranged our normal pet sitter that we’ve used for years to come and take care of our (almost) 15 year old cat, Mr. Christmas. It was around that time that Mr. Christmas stopped eating. Mr. Christmas had no real health conditions, no meds…and he was declining fast. After extensive testing, imaging, and seeing a specialist, he was diagnosed with either IBD or cancer and was going to need a lot of follow up. He was on multiple oral medications and he still wasn’t eating great. I couldn’t leave him in the house with someone who can only come see him once a day. He needed more support and our normal pet sitter couldn’t provide that for him. I was fully prepared to cancel the trip, but thought I’d go on Rover to see if anyone could match what we were looking for and if anyone would be willing to do what we were asking. We needed three, hour-long visits daily, forcing food at him, weighing him, and administering multiple daily medications. I found Melanie explaining what I was looking for, and I was really impressed that she was up early at 4:30am to message me. Melanie communicated with me each week leading up to our trip. We initially didn’t have a diagnosis and I needed vet clearance to leave him. Melanie asked many questions, and when we finally were told that he was stable enough to leave, she came over to our house with a list of questions to go over with us. He’s got a bit…a lot…of an attitude. She made sure that she didn’t approach him and waited for him to come to her. She was so thoughtful about every detail of their interaction in front of us. My husband and I both felt that even though she is a stranger to us, there was something calming about her and she was very professional. We knew Mr. Christmas would be okay, but I wasn’t expecting him to thrive the way that he did. Melanie never missed a visit. She never asked for anything from me. She communicated with me daily throughout the two weeks. She braved picking him up to put him on the scale multiple times. Mr. Christmas gained weight with Melanie. He wasn’t gaining weight with me at home, but she is just that good. Pictures of Mr. Christmas started with him sleeping alone, and then he got closer and closer to her on the couch. He even started inviting her to watch him in the litter box (I’m mortified), but he only does this with “his people”. Our dog came to visit at home a few days to see Mr. Christmas (they are besties), and Melanie had no problem cuddling our dog while visiting Mr. Christmas. To describe Melanie in one or two words, I would say she is easygoing and pays great attention to detail. She makes everything seem easy and carefree, and my anxiety really appreciated that on this trip. I got home from 15 days away from him, and he is this thick ball of fluffy happiness. He was WELL taken care of. We could have never gone on this trip without Melanie. She is a true gem and I will be referring anyone and everyone I know to her. About: I’ve always had dogs and cats in my life, and caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I’m an avid hiker and have been lucky to share many trails with amazing “trail dogs” over the years. I’ve also pet sat for coworkers, doing drop-ins multiple times a day, and I’m currently providing overnight care for a puppy—something I truly enjoy. Over time, I realized this is something I’d love to do more of. When I say “us,” I mean my little household too: I have a mixed-breed dog and a cat. (I don't take new pets without a previous meet and greet, unless is an emergency case) My priority is to keep your pet safe, comfortable and fully entertained while you are away. Walks around the lake in our neighorhood surrounded by nature are a must do in our daily check list (sometimes we even take them to the mall to socialize and get free treats lol) As a pet sitter I'm offering house & pet walking/sitting opportunities to families (I'm willing to travel farther and pick up them by myself)! In the other hand, Kai is a medium size old doggy, he gets very excited with new pets but a few minutes later he just ignore them and likes to go back to take long naps on the couch. I have 2 friendly indoor cats, they mostly spend the day sleeping inside the bedroom or playing with the dogs from time to time.

About: I have owned dogs my entire life mostly big dogs and some small dogs, so I can handle what ever is thrown at me. On top of that I own my own 3 year old husky which I got when he was 8 weeks old and trained him. If you know dogs you know huskies which are a hand full themselves. I am an open book completely. I am a server am my shifts are very flexible, depending on how my scheduling goes here I may or may not need to serve as much. If I am coming to your home I would treat your animal and your home with the upmost respect, following your rules. I would take them on walks, a hike, the dog park, I would play with them and enrich them. Even in my own home I would do the same

Being in the position of needing pet care myself at times, I know how important it is to be confident in your sitter. I currently work from home 3 days a week. On the days that I go into work I will come home halfway through the day to check on your pets that I’m watching. Weekends are usually spent taking the dogs for daily outings. I can provide the importance of a partially fenced in yard. I am always willing to take your dog out on a leash if there is a threat of them running off. About: I have had many types of animals my whole life! Dogs, cats, opossum, Guinea pigs, horses and a coyote pup. I treat animals like family members & give them lots of love and attention. I am retired so when I am dog sitting, I will be home the whole time. I give my dog all the attention she needs & I will do the same for yours. I only sit 1 dog at a time so that way your fur baby won’t ever feel left out. I have a fully fenced back yard where my little Morki/Shih Tzu loves to run. My husband & I make sure one of us is holding our little dog if someone comes to the door. We have dog seat belts if we need to take the dogs for a ride. I have a safe place to walk the dogs where we can stay on a sidewalk. No dog will be more cared for.

In my life I've had many different types of dogs as well as a ferret, fish, a snake, and a few birds. I'm an advocate for any animal no matter what the shape size or species. I believe they all deserve a chance. I think this is just another way of helping out those people that want a sitter but can't afford Petco or other hotels.
About: I've been the go to carer for all kinds of pets (dogs, cats, senior animals.) for my family and friends since I was a teenager. I find that I have a calming presence that puts them at ease. I have some experience with training, mostly with previous pets. I'm currently in school and working part time. I have Friday, Saturdays and Sundays free. And Thursday afternoons free. If things go well here, I hope to have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons free too. I have a fenced yard with lots of room to play and lots of toys. I no longer have pets of my own, so any animal under my care will get my full attention.

About: I've had dogs for as long as I remember. I currently have 5 dogs that live with my parents in Southern Indiana. They are dogs of all types of breeds and sizes, most of which we raised from puppies. The most recent dog, was found in the woods behind their house and I spent hours picking ticks off of him. I just moved to this area and I already miss my dogs so much. I truly love dogs and will take great care of yours! I currently don't have a traditional job so I am free pretty much anytime to look after your pups and give them the care they deserve! I am really good with dogs of all sizes. Finn has anxious behaviors, so she asked many questions to make sure his stay was comfortable when he stayed. When Finn had his overnight, she sent multiple updates with pictures.
