About: My experience comes from caring for my own dogs and dog sitting big dogs for friends who don't want their pups to stay in their comfy familiar home while they are away. I've owned labs, huskies, shepherds and collies. Most recently I had two collies that have travelled with me around the world. Sadly both have passed recently So I'm without a dog of my own but love having them around. I am happy to meet new dogs of all ages and breeds. I love large dogs too but my place may be too small for some but I'm happy to meet up and see what works. I work from home a lot and am very flexible to drop in or take your pup(s) for a walk. I run most days and can have pups join if that's something they like. I am very cautious about dog handling and will follow your instructions. I will only care for dogs in my home after I've taken care of them at your home and I am familiar enough with the dog so that I am sure it will be ok in a new space and that I can accommodate its needs.

About: I am a life-long cat dad. My first cat, Sassy, was waiting for me when I was brought home from the hospital. I currently have two cats (both rescues), a wild-eyed adolescent and an old girl (still just a baby) who requires oral, nasal, and injection medications. My older cat loves her sunny spots, chin scratches, cardboard scratching sled, and mint-sticks but will never chase after a toy (just treats). She has her routine and sticks to it. My younger cat is simultaneously skittish and demanding of butt-pats. I just need to pay attention to what she’s communicating. If it moves, she’ll chase it. Your cat would be like another family member with their own personalities that need to be learned and adapted to. Like cats, dogs have their own personalities and communication styles that need to be learned and understood. But there are also extra considerations depending on size and breed. Working dogs need exercise, games, and puzzles to solve. Some breeds just need to know you’re there for them. As a sitter, I would expect the owner to train their dog and make sure they have access to the space they need. As an owner, you should expect me give them the exercise, attention, and affection they need while maintaining the discipline you’ve taught them.

“I am truly grateful to have found Lexi to care for my dog, Vizhna. I need to board V for 11 weekends over a nine-month period because I'm going to school away from home. Vizhna gets anxious in new situations, so it was important for me to find one person who could do most or all of the weekends, instead of finding a different sitter for each weekend. I contacted 14 pet-sitters on Rover that didn't work out--before I contacted Lexi. Lexi is calm, competent, thoughtful, caring, and detail-oriented, and Vizhna was able to relax and enjoy herself while staying with Lexi and her family. That was a huge weight off my heart, to find a situation where V will not feel anxious while she's away from home--and in fact to find a second (temporary) home for V. I highly recommend Lexi for any pet care you need!”
