At first I was nervous because the pictures had not been updated and honestly the appearance is slightly jarring at first. However if you can look past that, Natalie is a passionate dog owner, her own dogs are healthy, happy and well trained. My pittbull has tons of allergies and requires supplements, oral drops, baths, and topical foam. Natalie was willing to take that on, and provide a routine for my dog so that she could play, socialize, and be well cared for. Natalie gives daily pictures so you can visualize your dog is safe and sound! Don’t judge a book by its cover!! I am so glad my dog found her rhythm and enjoyed her time with Natalie. Highly recommend her! My dog came back looking shinny and happy! Will book her again!!”
“Rocky loved his 3 night stay here! Richard and Kelly were quick to respond and I felt comfortable leaving Rocky here. They took him on walks through the woods every day which I know he loved! I would likely only recommend them to people who have outdoor dogs, or dogs that don't mind noise/dogs barking. Rocky is an outside dog so I am certain had no issues sleeping outside or listening to the other dogs bark in the kennels all day. I don't think a dog that is used to being indoors and a in a single dog house would love it here like Rocky did!”
About: I've watched dogs and cats with all different personalities and needs (i.e. blind, diabetic, anxious, etc.). I believe in understanding a pet's needs from the perspective of the pet and responding with compassion. I work full time, but can usually work from home if needed. I will talk with you before we commit to pet sitting to ensure my schedule works for your needs (if that's getting off early, working from home every day during the time of the sitting, going home over lunch for a walk, etc). I have no fur babies (or kids) of my own, so your babies will get my undivided attention and I will shower them with all the love I wish I could give to my own fur baby if I had one. (Know I recognize that love looks different for different critters - for some it may mean keeping a respectful distance!)

About: I've never lived in a house without cats, I absolutely adore them and am very experienced in caring for them. I've dealt with all levels of socialization, from super clingy to feral, so I'm super comfortable with varying personalities and comfort levels. I've also dealt with all ages, so I'm comfortable handling senior cats as well ask young kittens, I have experience with giving medication to special needs cats as well as bottle feeding kittens.

About: We've taken care of our own and family dogs for 20+ years, including dog sitting, outings, walking, and training/agility. We treat dogs as our family and are truly passionate about their well being. We currently work from home remotely and have flexible time to attend to the dog throughout the day, including frequent visits, walking, playing, and training. “Penny and Evan were great with our little “high anxiety” fur baby. During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”

I am also comfortable with young animals, cats, older animals, and any animal requiring high levels of care.

About: People like me because I LOVE pets so much. I have a 2-year-old chihuahua named Cheeto, and have had many size dogs over the years. I also have a cat named Marvel who is under a year. I grew up on a farm with a variety of animals from small to large, cats, dogs, horses, pigs, rabbits, and a peacock. My friends and family say that I have animal radar and know when one is near. I do well with a variety of temperaments, and warm up to the dog at their own comfort level. I send picture or video updates so the pet parents can keep in touch and not miss them. From past work with a pet brand and learned some good information about dog food and safety; and am a part of a petsitting group online where we share useful learning. I leave your home like I found it or better and communicate frequently for any direction from you or notification about your pet and home. Get the mail, water plants. At my home, I have a whole floor for them to hang out and look out a huge window to deer, birds, plants. We walk in the suburb, or take car rides if ok. Watch movies, naps. I make sure in any situation that safety and risk assessment is on point. If I don’t know I will ask. If it’s a medium breed or smaller dog in my home, I’ll walk them with my chihuahua, or if not, just walk separately.

I will be returning to vet school again in January after a short leave of absence I’m able to walk, feed, give medications, and play with your animals! I’m comfortable with all types of animals with a variety of health problems and temperaments. I currently work night shift so I’m available most times during the day! I also am free all weekends so I have plenty of time to spend time with your pets! I currently live in a house with a fenced in yard. I care for my own dog and have him run around the yard for lots of exercise. Although I wouldn’t be using my house for stays, I am more than happy to spend the same amount of time caring for your pets!
About: I have taken care of and trained a Doberman Pincher with leash issues. I took in a feral cat and cared for her for 16 years. I am currently taking care of a miniature poodle. I am comfortable with both small and large dogs and I know the power of a calm and assertive energy. I also have a lot of love for cats and understand the process of earning trust. My partner and I have just moved to Blacksburg and I am excited to meet new people. I have all day to care for your pets! My schedule is incredibly flexible. I am an inherently detail oriented and methodical person so following your instructions precisely is always my goal. “Natalie took care of my sweet pittbull for 26 days while I traveled outside the country! At first I was nervous because the pictures had not been updated and honestly the appearance is slightly jarring at first. However if you can look past that, Natalie is a passionate dog owner, her own dogs are healthy, happy and well trained. My pittbull has tons of allergies and requires supplements, oral drops, baths, and topical foam. Natalie was willing to take that on, and provide a routine for my dog so that she could play, socialize, and be well cared for. Natalie gives daily pictures so you can visualize your dog is safe and sound! Don’t judge a book by its cover!! I am so glad my dog found her rhythm and enjoyed her time with Natalie. Highly recommend her! My dog came back looking shinny and happy! Will book her again!!”
“Rocky loved his 3 night stay here! Richard and Kelly were quick to respond and I felt comfortable leaving Rocky here. They took him on walks through the woods every day which I know he loved! I would likely only recommend them to people who have outdoor dogs, or dogs that don't mind noise/dogs barking. Rocky is an outside dog so I am certain had no issues sleeping outside or listening to the other dogs bark in the kennels all day. I don't think a dog that is used to being indoors and a in a single dog house would love it here like Rocky did!”

About: I began volunteering at my local animal shelter at the age of 9 and have been caring for animals ever since. I have 20 years experience pet sitting for neighbors and I have my own 6 year old pitbull, Cleo, so I’m no stranger to energetic dogs. I’m a teacher, so my summers give me full flexibility to care for your animals! I love to walk dogs on local greenways and trails. SCHOOL YEAR UPDATE: I’m still happy to provide boarding, walking, and drop in visits outside of school hours. I am unable to be home or care for pets from 7am-3pm each day. If your dog can be left for 8 hours, boarding continues to be available during the school year. I have a fenced in backyard where your dog can play. If they like to play with a buddy, my dog will be their best friend!

She was very attentive and in tune with the needs of my fur babies even when my eldest was super anxious - she accommodated him marvelously and handled it with utmost grace. Kimberly took lots of photos and kept me posted throughout each day/evening. She had fun activities for them to do, provided quality grooming and overall gave them the mini vacay away from home that they needed with a little goodie bag for the road.
