“Alyssa and Sean were so incredible at taking care of our dog! They walked him often, gave him lots of attention, sent us lots of updates and pictures, made him home cooked healthy treats (!), and overall went above and beyond to take care of our pup. He is probably disappointed to be home after having such a good time with them! We would recommend them to anyone and will definitely ask them to care for our dog again in the future!”

“Danielle was amazing with our cat, Kinako! This was her first time being away from home, but it was very obvious from the pictures and updates that she was in great hands. It was also her first time being around so many other pets, but they were very sweet with her and she seemed surprisingly at ease :) We're excited to book with Danielle again whenever we're out of town!”

“Cate was great! She came by to meet Callie and I, and she took great care of her. Callie did not seem at all upset that I was gone. And she even washed the sheets from the bed — which I did not expect her to do! This was my first time using Rover/Cate and I will definitely use her again!”

I have worked with as small as a 5-pound chihuahua to as big as a greyhound and GSD's and am open to caring for many more breeds and sizes. I currently work part-time and also work/volunteer at a barn when needed. The care for your fur babies will always come first and if need be, we would figure out scheduling. I care for your pets' every basic need along with their special needs like medications if needed. I also strive to spend time with them so that they aren't feeling lonely like taking them for walks and having play time and rest time.
“Abigail was super great with our two dogs! They are both high energy and can be a lot at times. She was very patient and took excellent care of them, going above and beyond to make sure they had what they needed while we were away.”

About: I’ve cared for cats most of my life, starting with my first Siamese cat when I was nine, and continuing through years of helping care for cats for friends and family. I’ve always appreciated how cats each have their own personality and way of engaging. Some are social and curious, while others prefer quiet and space, and I take my time to understand what each cat is comfortable with. Some are talkers, some are not. I don’t rush interaction. I’m calm, patient, and attentive, and let trust build naturally so cats feel safe and settled, especially when their routine changes. I also have experience with senior cats and understand the extra patience and gentle care they often need. Whether your cat is playful, shy, independent, or affectionate, I aim to provide steady, respectful care in a way that feels familiar and low-stress for them.
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I have been taking care of dogs of my own since I was able to walk and talk. I work hard and play harder with our furry friends! I am a fast learner, and can assist with training pups or taking care of senior dogs. My father is a veterinarian, so I was able to learn from him how to care for your pets. I attend James Madison University, so I will have classes with a varying schedule each weekday. I can stay full time at your home with your pets. I go to the gym, so I may be out for a short time to work out, but once I’m finished I’m right back at home with your pets! I have two dogs of my own. I feed/provide medication to them regularly (might go without saying) and I love to cuddle up with them on the floor and play with their toys with them. I’m very affectionate and will give your pets lots of attention and love.
About: I’ve lived in my house with a dog and two cats since I was five. My childhood dog was a pittbull, and now my family has a beagle. I’ve looked after them since I was 12. I also look after my neighbor's two dogs when she's on vacation. One of my cats dealt with thyroid issues for 4 years before she died. I took care of her medication intake and adapted to her lifestyle. I’m currently searching for a part-time job, so I have a lot of free time on my hands. When I do start working, I will leave plenty of time for local animals. I can easily care for and clean up after your animals. I can prepare their food, specific to their diet, and exercise and play with them.

“Ross was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared a lot about my pet’s well-being. I appreciated the regular updates and the attention to detail—everything was handled exactly as requested. I felt completely at ease knowing my pet was in good hands.”

“We truly appreciate Brandy! We booked very last minute with brandy. Being on vacation we brought our epileptic pup and he wasn’t coping well in a new place being alone. So we downloaded this app for the first time and booked with her while we went out. She responded when I checked on him, and sent me pictures of him while he was with her. We are even booked an extra day with her while we were here because he did so well in her care! Thank you Brandy !!”

About: Just the 2 of us. Our sweet boy crossed over the rainbow bridge, and while we’re not quite ready to get another dog, we love making new paw friends! We both work from home, and have opposite schedules when leaving the house, so one of us is normally home! It’s a perfect set up for your pups ‘home away from home.’ We take at least 2 walks a day, plus dog parks and car rides! Dogs are free to roam around the house and fenced in yard.
“Jenesis was amazing! She made sure to take extra care of my pup and make her feel at ease while I was away. She was flexible with my late evening pick up time and even watched my dog longer than I had originally asked/needed her to. Please book with her if you need a sitter!!”

About: Energetic, up and coming dog trainer! I studied for two years at a shop with a dog nutritionist, have apprenticed with a dog trainer for the past year, and just completed a six month program with Highland Canine Dog Training in North Carolina. I am available in mornings and afternoons. I work nights, but only a few times (2-3). Weekdays and weekends I am available as needed, just let me know! I have two golden doodles in my own home. About: I kind of fell into the dog sitting fun. My mom used to “sit” with every kind of being from baby to dog before it became a popular hustle. Growing up I’ve always helped and learned from her how to care for other’s family members as one’s own. In my spare time, I love to hike and I walk everyday. I'd love to have your companion as a sidekick on these adventures. Or even just enjoy a leisurely walk. Coming into one’s home is an act of trust and a privilege. This is not lost on me. I have every intention of respecting the needs and privacy of my clients.
“Kendyl is great and we really appreciate how well she takes care of Rosie. She watched her for a few hours on short notice. Rosie has separation issues but Kendyl always manages to calm her down and make her feel at home. Thanks again, Kendyl!”

“Krista was great. Zoe immediately loved her and Coby didn’t mind the wake up call from the couch to meet his new friend. Dogs were walked, fed, and given treats as requested. Proper leash, walking perimeter followed, house locked, and key promptly returned. We even received a picture of the walk. Neither dog expressed any separation anxiety while their humans were on a day trip. I was super happy and will call on Krista in the future. Dogs give her 5 woofs!”

About: Hi! My name is Annalise, and I have been pet sitting since high school, for about six years now. Ever since then, it feels like I’ve found my passion. I’m an international affairs major at JMU, and a proud cat mom (the tabby)! Adopting my baby boy Alex soon (the first dog), who I’m training from the ground up. He’s a nervous boy but worth it! I’m willing to put in the work, and I can’t think of a better reward than the love of an animal. If you give me the honor to look after your babies, I promise I’ll care for them fiercely. I do this because I love it, and it makes me happy; please reach out to me if you need a hand, I’d be more than happy to give it!! I have a part time job and am a full time student, but I am more than willing to work around your pets schedule. Your pet’s care is my priority, and I wouldn’t accept a job if I didn’t believe I could give them 110% of my attention and affection. I would take your pets on walks, cuddle them, and overall ensure they’re being cared for to the best of my ability. I would also get to know them well so I could easily assess if any behaviors are out of the ordinary.

About: I have sat for pets since I was in high school. This was for cats and dogs and included both overnight house sits and dog walks. I’m working partially as a freelance journalist, but that’s a very loose schedule so I should have a lot of time for pet sitting and care. I am free on most weekends and Fridays I care for my dog back home making sure he always gets enough food, exercise, and love. I can ensure that the pets are cared for well and give them as much attention as needed

About: I have taken care of and been around animals since I was a child. I had worked in Dog Daycares, walking dogs, and being a sitter for all kinds of animals. I can be gentle or authoritative with your pet while giving them love and kindness. My life is taking care of animals and loving them. I have plenty of free time to spend with your pets for walks, playtime, and so much more! I am quite strong to be able to hold tightly onto a leash if your animal is leash reactive. I am well versed in dog body language and can handle a hyperactive animal or a calm and cuddly baby.

About: I’ve cared for animals most of my life, with decades of hands-on experience, starting with gerbils and my first Siamese cat when I was nine. I’ve also had parakeets for several years. Friends and family have often relied on me for drop-in visits. I’ve always liked the different qualities animals bring, cats with their emotional honesty and dogs with their energy and engagement. I also notice how they relate to the world in their own ways, dogs tend to look for connection and interaction, cats move more on their own terms, and horses are often more tuned in to their surroundings and quick to respond when something feels off. Keeping that in mind helps me adjust my approach so each one feels comfortable and understood. As a young adult, I worked a couple summers in a dog kennel, where my interest in obedience, canine behavior, and training really took off and grew from there. I also spent several summers at horse camp early on, where I gained hands-on experience with horse care, handling, and stable routines. I’ve always enjoyed riding horseback, and still do when I can. Those early experiences shaped how I approach animals today. I’m naturally more at ease with animals, calm, steady, and patient, and I’m attentive to how they communicate and what they need. The first dogs I had of my own were a street-mix, Ringo, then a Giant Schnauzer and later a Husky mix, Harley, and in more recent years, my best buddy, Achy, was a Jack Russell Terrier. Caring for him through different stages of life deepened my understanding of attentive, consistent care. With my Schnauzer, Bella, I trained and competed in obedience, which gave me a strong appreciation for structure, consistency, and clear communication. Some of my animals were adopted, while others I raised from puppyhood, which gave me experience with both early training and supporting animals as they settle into new environments. I appreciate that each animal has its own personality, comfort level, and needs, especially when their routine changes, and I do my best to keep things as familiar and steady as possible. My experience includes: • Daily care, feeding, walks, play, companionship • Supporting anxious, sensitive, or high-energy pets • Keeping routines consistent • Reinforcing basic training and boundaries • Basic first aid for dogs and cats (minor wounds, claw injuries, and general care) • Grooming and brushing, including tick checks and removal (and basic hoof care for horses) • Care for small animals, birds and fish, including cage cleaning and basic aquarium upkeep I take a calm, patient approach and don’t rush interaction. I allow trust to build naturally so pets feel secure and comfortable while you’re away. I’m comfortable caring for dogs, cats, and small animals such as rodents, birds, and ferrets. At this time, I don’t offer care for reptiles or arachnids. I also have experience with horses from years of riding, and while it’s been some time, I’m comfortable assisting with basic care. At home, I currently care for a senior rescue cat, Aggy, which keeps me mindful of the extra patience and attention older animals often need. I’m comfortable with routine care such as eye drops, tablets, and grooming or brushing. For injections, IVs, or more advanced medical care, I recommend working with a veterinary professional. While I’m new to Rover, caring for animals has been a consistent part of my life. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my priority. I am self-employed and currently work part-time, which gives me flexibility in my daily and weekly schedule. I’m able to plan pet care around the needs of the pet owner and provide reliable, attentive care. I provide care in the pet owner’s home to keep things familiar and comfortable for the pet. My visits typically include up to four shorter potty breaks throughout the day, along with a longer walk and evening care. Overnight stays follow a consistent routine to support a sense of safety and stability, as both dogs and cats tend to feel more at ease with familiar patterns. During each visit, I make sure pets are fed, have fresh water, get appropriate exercise, and receive calm, attentive companionship. I follow care instructions closely, keep an eye on behavior and overall wellbeing, and provide regular photo and video updates so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I’m respectful of your home and routines, and I’m happy to take care of small details, such as watering houseplants, if requested.
About: Hi there! I'm Carrie. I have been a pet owner and caretaker for over 15 years! I am experienced in walking, feeding, and otherwise caring for several types of pets. I currently own a cat and a dog, but I can also care for rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish! My main option here is dog walking, but I can also do drop-in visits as needed. I currently work part-time so I have plenty of time to care for your animals and take them for walks. I am available most weekends for drop-in visits, and I will house sit as needed! I will ensure that dogs remain safely leashed during all walks. If the temperature of asphalt is too warm for walks I make sure to stick to grassy areas. I ensure that I know current vet care and contact numbers for emergency situations.

About: I’ve cared for pets of all ages, from playful puppies to gentle older dogs, such as my own. I tailor my approach to each animal’s needs. What sets me apart is my calm, patient energy and attention to detail—I don’t just watch pets, I get to know them. I have experience with basic training reinforcement, senior pet care (including administering oral medications), and making nervous animals feel safe and loved. Whether it’s a long walk, structured playtime, or simply keeping a routine, I care for every pet like they’re my own. Also for full disclosure up front, I do work two jobs during the summer. I am a part time math tutor and I also work at Costco. As a college student home for the summer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to pet care. With no classes or school obligations right now, I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits—whatever fits your pet’s routine best. I love spending my summer surrounded by animals, and I’m fully committed to giving each pet the time and attention that they need. Safety and trust are my top priorities in every pet care situation. When caring for pets in their own home, I respect their space and routines to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I follow all owner instructions carefully—from feeding schedules to medication dosages—to ensure consistency and well-being. I always secure doors, windows, and any potential hazards to create a safe environment. As for staying in my home, I unfortunately cannot have other pets coming and staying with me, due to the amount of allergies in my household and my older dog that is living with me
About: Its incredibly easy for me to pick up on a pet's personality. Whether they're out and about, or too lazy to go out, I champion myself for being able to understand a pet's emotions. Pet care has turned from something I do as a favor for friends and family into a passion I want to practice as frequently as possible. I am an incredibly timely individual. I love sticking to checklists, as they help me remember the tasks assigned, and ensure that I have performed the requested duties to the owners, and the pets.
About: Hi I’m Brandy 🙂 I am a mother to 5 amazing children, and we are on the Autism Spectrum 🥹 We all love animals and are exceptional animal caretakers (and little animal caretakers in training ☺️🤭). I have decades of animal care experience, working with cats, dogs, horses, and even giraffes, elephants, and antelopes! We own and operate a rabbitry with a focus on Flemish Giant rabbits and have somewhat of a “suburban homestead”, chickens, ducks, rabbits, gardens😌🤫🤭I have worked at multiple dog kennels, including free run facilities, and have worked at the SPCA and the Virginia zoo in Norfolk, Virginia. I have experience with and own German-trained protection dogs (Dobermans/German shepherds etc); we also have King Charles Cavalier spaniels. I am familiar with and have worked with dozens of breeds and each breed has its own characteristics although each pup is also unique of course, it is helpful to be familiar with and recognize breed characteristics. We are able to keep your pet in a completely separate quiet area of our home😴😌or they are welcome to join the pack🥳🤪depending on your (and your pet’s) preference. I am very careful, and responsible, and also very observant and intuitive to know exactly what your pet needs. I have also been a professional photographer for 25 years and love to take photos of pets in our care🙂💖 Let me know what your needs are, and we will see if I can accommodate your needs, as my schedule is very open and flexible. My pet care is very custom tailored to your needs and your pet’s needs, let me know what you need and what your pet prefers. I have 4 dogs that stay exclusively in the back part of the home and have access to the backyard. Doggies I am sitting stay exclusively in the front part of the home and have access to the front yard, so there is no interaction between my dogs. My dogs are friendly with other dogs but this arrangement just makes it easier and more comfortable for yours = )

About: I’ve been caring for cats my entire life, and I have great experience with dogs as well! I have been sitting for over 10 households in the Harrisonburg area, and i’ve had nothing but great reviews! My work in a research lab at JMU is flexible, so I can usually stop by wherever you need me! I don’t have a strict schedule! I have 2 amazing cats at home and I make sure to keep them as safe as possible. I do the same when caring for other peoples pets, and treat them as my own!
About: Hello! I am Emily and would love to have the opportunity to meet you and your pets! I grew up with dogs and last year rescued my own Plott Hound mix from the Rockingham SPCA. I am a junior at JMU and currently work at All About Paws; I previously worked at Happy Hounds Doggie Daycare. I hope I can help your pets be less lonely throughout the work day or make your life a little easier by offering help walking and taking care of them whenever you need. Hope you have a great day!! :) Pets and pet care is something I am surrounded by constantly. I adopted a dog from a shelter last year and a good amount of my time is spent trying to get him to be less anxious and scared of the world. While not home with him, I am at work, taking care of around 30 dogs and potentially a couple cats every shift. I will do whatever I can to help accommodate for your pets needs! While I can’t bring pets into my apartment due to roommate allergies and my dogs fear of everything, I am more than happy to come to your home as often as possible and spend time with your pets, feeding, exercising, and doing whatever else they need in order to be safe and happy while you’re away.
About: I have taken care of animals since I was in elementary school! I have petsitting experience with dogs, cats, bunnies, fish, hamsters, tortoises, lizards, crabs, rats, birds, guinea pigs, and even chickens and turkeys! I am currently in harrisonburg completing grad school! My schedule is pretty free at the moment as I have night classes and they’re all online. My best friend is a 12 year old beagle basset hound mix! I feed and walk her, but my favorite thing to do is spend time with her. Always down for fetch or a good pet session! Your animals will not feel attention-starved when I am there. My camera roll has thousands of pictures of my dog, so you can trust I will FOR SURE send pictures of your pets.
About: I have been around dogs my whole life, and I’ve had my own mini poodle for 5 years now. I will love your dog like they are your child!:) I am currently working part time, as well as a full time student. I don’t get to have my dog here, he’s with my family. So I enjoy anytime with your fur baby!! I will be able to care for your dog however you feel comfortable. When they stay with me, I will make them feel as comfortable as I possibly can! With many cuddles!

“Danielle and her crew were great! She was very responsive to my messages and was able to watch my doggo on very short notice. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in her care. If you're ever in Harrisonburg, choose her!”

“Highly recommend Brandy and her family they are Great! It’s an awesome feeling to know that my fur babies are being taken care of and loved while I am away. Brandy sends pictures and chats to let me know that my fur babies are having fun too. Thanks Brandy for everything!”

“Jenesis was outstanding. We were in a panicked situation and she was very responsive to help. She was very kind and comforting to Chip during his stay and sent video and photos of him throughout his stay. She was wonderful about staying in touch with us anc keeping us updated on his walks and meals and how he was doing in general. I would recommend Jenesis to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets and we will use Jenesis again next time we are in town.”

“Kara and her family were amazing with my husky! They had him for 5 days while we were out of town and I have nothing but great things to say about them. My boy was well taken care of, he was happy and communication was consistent (something I highly appreciated) They took him on walks, played with him and gave him lots of love. We totally recommend her!”

“Hillary is a great sitter. A dog lover, she was so engaged and involved with our 2 Goldens during the week they stayed with her and her family. She sent multiple pictures, videos, and texts every day. The dogs were in great shape when we picked them up and it was clear that that they had been very well cared for. It is so comforting to know that your beloved pets are in good hands and Hillary exudes that type of confidence in her care. We are empty nesters and could tell from the videos and pics that the dogs loved playing with her children. I highly recommend Hillary!”

“Miss Valley had an amazing time with Diane and her family. She enjoyed nice walks with her kids and seemed as though she really enjoyed her time with Diane. Diane communicated daily on how she was doing and sent photos as well. I will definitely be rebooking with Diane again!”

“Rebecca was the best! She was so flexible in meeting me to drop off/pick up my dog, and I could tell that my dog loved spending time with her. She was smiling and wagging her tail when I picked her up and I know she had the best time. She sent photos throughout her stay and kept me in the loop. If I ever need someone to watch Willow again I know who to contact. Thank you!”

“Kendyl took wonderful care of my Scottish terrier, Fala! I could tell Fala had a wonderful time and was very well taken care of. Also received daily updates and photos. I highly recommend☺️☺️☺️”

“Anatoliy and their family was amazing. Beautiful home and very hands on with our Bentley. Strongly recommend choosing them for the care of your pets. Thank you so much for the love and care you provided. Luke & Debra”

“I cannot recommend her enough! She watched Otis for 2 nights and treated him like he was her own. From the moment I dropped him off, I felt completely at ease. She was so kind, communicative, and thoughtful throughout the entire stay. She sent me lots of updates and photos, which meant so much and made being away from my boy so much easier. You could genuinely tell how much love and attention he was getting the whole time. He came home happy, comfortable, and clearly very well cared for. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and truly loving with animals, she is absolutely the person to book. I would 100% use her again!”

“We needed a dog sitter last minute and Cory was able to accommodate and watch our dog Otto for the entire weekend we needed. He was very communicative and sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the weekend. Our dog was very happy and was well cared for the entire time. I would highly recommend using Cory and will definitely be reaching out to him again next time I am in the area.”

“Cynthia made sure my fairly anxious dog, Obi, was well cared for! This is the first time I’ve left him with someone he doesn’t know, so I was worried at first. But Cynthia kept me updated the whole time I was gone and her pictures and quick updates made me feel so much better about being away from Obi!”

“Aly was very flexible on drop off and pickup times. She sent a few photos, which was totally appropriate. Would DEFINITELY leave our dog with her again! She is now family.”

“Alexandra and Logan were wonderful with my (sometimes overly) curious terrier, Eddie! I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

“Lina and family were amazing, they took awesome care of Bella and I would absolutely book them again to pet sit my dog. She sent a lot of photos and communicated with us.”
