“John is great! He kept my dog at his house for about a week while I was out of town. It’s so much better than boarding my dog at a kennel. John took him on several walks each day and even let him sleep on his couch. I believe my dog had it better at John’s house than at mine! John is also good about providing daily updates.”

“Thia was my first time using Rover and Donna made the process very easy. She was helpful, responsive, and provided updates and pictures throughout my dog's stay. She treated my furbaby like her own. I will definitely be using her service again and recommend her to anyone”

“Shawn was wonderful! She kept me updated throughout the entire stay. My pups were very comfortable and happy during their stay. I would choose Shawn every time to watch my pups, they had an amazing time! I didn’t have to worry about my dogs once while they were in Shawn’s care!”

“I wanted to take my dogs to Shannon last year, based on her profile alone. She has experience with senior dogs and dogs with disabilities. I can't remember if I didn't take the vacation or she just wasn't available for the dates I needed but, I didn't use her last year. This year, I needed a sitter for 3 nights as I was going out of town. She took care of my little beagle, Buddy and my golden doodle, Toby. I've had both of these dogs for less than 3 months. When I took them to visit her before the vacation, they took to her and her household immediately so I felt very secure leaving them 2 days later when I went on vacation. My niece also left her little Aussie dog with her as well. Shannon sent lots of pictures of the dogs and descriptions of their activities each day! She let us know if they weren't eating and she gave her input and thoughts as to why they were doing or not doing something unusual. She gave me and my niece both peace of mind and that's the number one thing we needed from a dog sitter. We could tell that she loved on our dogs just as if they were her children and we loved it. I'll always be reaching out to her when I'm in need of a sitter for sure!”

“Ashley and her family were great! My pup has endless energy and I was concerned about leaving her for an extended stay. They are very gentle and sweet with all their guests, both human and canine! Their pup Delilah gets along with pretty much any dog, it would appear. I'll definitely be recommending them and using their services when the time comes again.”

“Emily was wonderful and so easy to work with! Our pups seemed to have a great time and loved her fenced in backyard. Very much appreciated Emily’s daily messages and pics. Will definitely use again!”

“Kimberly is amazing! Kira is usually a worrywart, but she settled in and really seemed to enjoy her stay! I truly enjoy getting pictures of Kira every day! I won't hesitate to use her from now on! Thank you soooo much!”

“Marah took excellent care of our pup, Stella! She sent pics throughout her stay and was very responsive and accommodating. We have already booked another stay with her! Highly recommend this sitter :)”

“She is someone who is incredibly devoted to animals; her dedication and love are boundless. I had the absolute best experience knowing that Mia was staying in a home filled with plenty of attention, patience, and love. Karlie is always in constant communication, too. She has dogs of her own, and they truly made Mia's stay much more fun, as Mia is super friendly. Mia returned home ready to sleep and rest after days filled with fun and endless running around—in fact, she didn't even want to leave, given how wonderfully she had been treated at Karlie's house!”

“Penny and Evan are amazing!! I was so impressed with how much love and care they gave to Sushi and Sasha. They walked, played with and petted my two dogs, as well as sending photos and videos. The best part is that the dogs really loved them and felt home!! I highly recommend and definitely will come back.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was extremely nervous. Lydia was amazing with my pups , she sent updates, videos and pictures the whole time. We will definitely be using her for all our trips out of town from now on. I would give 10 stars if I could!!!”

“Sidney did an incredible job with my German Shepherd! She sent pictures and checked in regularly to put me at ease. If you’re in Roanoke, Sidney as your pet sitter is the best choice you can make!!”

“Best. Sitter. EVER. I've tried and been happy (or not) with many boarders, but Jody goes way above and beyond. She's not just knowledgeable and reassuring, she's sweet and kind and will love your fur babies for you. I live in Roanoke, whereas she's in Moneta. But this was such a blessing!! I wanted somewhere Harriet could run and play and feel free and happy. Jody delivers this in a big way- she has several yards of varying sizes with over animals to play with. I kept telling my girl she was going to summer camp, and it turned out to be so true. I don't think she even missed me that much! Please don't let the distance deter you. Jody even offers pickup and drop off services. Harriet gets so anxious going to a boarder's house, but as soon as Jody pulled up, Harriet started wagging her tail and jumped right in her car before I could say goodbye. She's with the dogs all the time- you won't be leaving your pup with someone who leaves them alone. Harriet is very social, and I can tell from just the pictures and videos that her physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met in every way. Please seriously consider Jody- she's phenomenal. I don't really want to tell you this because I want to keep her all to myself, but that would be a gross injustice. She's the best. I won't even consider anyone else again- I'll just move my vacation plans around.”
“Mac is very nice and Gemma loved being there and playing with her dog. She sent regular check ups with us and sending pictures. Gemma is actually missing her best friend!!! She is either tired or missing her friend due to she has been sleeping alot. I will definitely bring Gemma back. She has very nice and quite place for any dog to play.”

“Rebecca is an amazing dog sitter and I highly recommend her! I have an elderly dog who needs medication and she took such great care of him. She was so gentle with him and kind. She took a ton of pictures of him to keep me updated and always responded back to me very quickly. I will definitely contact her again for pup sitting and will recommend her to friends and family. Thank you so much Rebecca! 🥰💗”

“Nidia was incredible!!! She went above and beyond to take care of my dogs. I didnt worry for a second while I was gone about them because of her communication, kindness, and thoroughness. Highly recommend Nidia!!!! The dogs loved her!”

“Ashley has watched our cats several times now and does a phenomenal job! She is attentive, communicative with us, and we can tell our cats love her and are well cared for when we return.”

About: I've connected with dogs since I was a child, as well as rehabilitated rescues and trained puppies. Every dog is special to me, and I have cared for senior and special needs pups. My most beloved dog was a black German Shepherd that I trained when I was 13. Even still, my mom shakes her head at how I'm especially drawn to big dogs that look "scary." I can't wait to meet your baby! Need extra support in your morning or evening? I am available with plenty of love to share. My weekdays allow me to spend time with your floofs in the morning and late afternoon/evening. Your pups will have plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and affection with me! Safety in your home and for your dog is my top priority. I will spend time getting to know your dog, and will make sure they get everything they need as you see fit: water, food, petting, snacks, play with toys, movement/walking, you name it! I will respect your home and leave everything as I find it.
“Jazmin was a fantastic cat sitter. This was the second time that we worked with her and I hope to work with her again in the future as both times she has been reliable and kind. She sent photos and updates after each meal. And when we returned home house was clean and neat and the cats were happy. She clearly took great care of them. Thank you, Jazmin!”

“Jessica was wonderful with our cat Ralphie! She was communicative, on-time, and made sure I was in the loop with how things were going during and after the visits. Definitely recommend!”

“Karmen is so amazing!! She made my nervous cat feel very safe and at ease. She is responsive, responsible, and caring. Karmen goes above and beyond and is very much an animal person at heart. I couldn't recommend her more highly if you need someone to take great care of your pet!”

“Ashley took good care of my lonely kitty Luna with love, fresh food, fresh water, clean kitty box and lots of petting. Thanks for bringing in the mail too. Good daily feedback and communication by text.”
“I would give her 20 stars if I could!! I was in an emergency situation and needed help fast. She was at my house in 10 minutes!! I could not have asked for better care of my cats. She sent pictures and updates. I did not worry about them. She allowed me to come and visit also. My fur babies were played with and not stuck in a cage like at other boarding places. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again if needed. BEST CARE EVER!!!”

“My Great Pyrenees stayed with Emily for daycare while we were in town visiting family! Emily was Amazing! She was quick to respond, sent LOTS of pictures, and kept us updated on our pup! Our pup seemed to have a great time and we would Recommend Emily anytime!”
About: I have over a decade of animal welfare experience. I have been fostering dogs in my home since I was old enough to be approved. Over the past 10 years I have cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages(from litter puppies to hospice care seniors). I am a stay at home parent. My husband travels for work therefore, I am home the majority of the time to care for our family, pets and home. I am available for pet care any and all days of the week. We have a large fenced in back yard. A designated dog area(3 rooms) that leads to the back yard. I have 3 young(3, 2, and 1 1/2) medium sized, well behaved dogs of our own who love to play! My dogs have never been known to resources guard or be aggressive towards other animals. I've never had any issues with dogs I have fostered in the past. However, if an issue does surface, my dogs can be relocated to another area of my home.
“I couldn't ask for a better dog sitter. Marah will love your dog as if it was her own and I feel so comfortable dropping my pup off at her place. She is a gem of a person!”

“Penny and Evan were great with our little “high anxiety” fur baby. During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”

“Kaleb took great care of Presley while I went away for the day! I received pictures and videos throughout his stay, which was greatly appreciated! Presley had so much fun playing with Kaleb’s pups, he is worn out! Thank you for taking great care of my baby!!! We will be coming back!”

“Kimberly was absolutely phenomenal and so kind! Our senior fur baby has a lot of extra needs, so we’ve always put date days aside to ensure we wouldn’t have to leave her home alone. From the first text interaction with Kimberly to meeting in person - we knew that we found someone we could trust! We got picture updates throughout the day, and each care instruction we provided was taken very serious. We will definitely be trusting Kimberly with our fur baby in the future. Thank you SO much!”
“Both Taylor and Jessica are super nice people and very accommodating. We used their services for our dog and they kept her for us while we were out of town. We would definitely use them again!”

“This is how my story started......I was in Roanoke for the Nomad convention at the Sheraton. It is dog friendly & I have my baby w me... she has always traveled well.. but she is now older & she is having separation anxiety when I leave the room! She barks & wont stop! She is a tri color chihuahua ! I can't leave the room & I can't take her to the car show because of the heat! I have never left her .. a bit nervous about doing so.. but thought I would search for Dog Care in area! My story ends in a meet & greet that started a new friendship! Paula was so comforting and reassuring that I wanted to stay with her! I had never left Mia w anyone before! Paula sent me pictures & text about Mia, including one where Mia was a bed hog! I immediately fell in love w her and never worried about my fur baby being in trusting, loving, awesome hands! Thank you Paula for loving my baby!❤️”

“Our previous sitter told me they are moving, which prompted me to search for a new sitter. I decided to try Rebecca, and am I glad I did! I was happy with our first sitter, but LuLu spent her time there just sniffing their yard and snuggling up on the couch with the sitter. She barely ate and wouldn't play with their dog. It was such a delight to see how happy LuLu was at Rebecca's place. She ran around the yard like I haven't seen her do since she was a puppy. When Rebecca thought LuLu needed a rest and brought her inside, LuLu whined to go back out, so out she went for more running around! Finally, she took a nap on the couch, then got up and ate all of her dinner. Then she settled down chewing on her toy until we came back for her. She was happy to see us, but gave Rebecca a tail wag when they said goodbye. I'm so glad LuLu found a place where she can thrive when we're gone. Now I won't hesitate to book a vacation! Rebecca was very attentive to the history I gave her about LuLu and my instructions about her routine and fears. We did a Meet & Greet on short notice, and Rebecca showed LuLu and me her back yard and inside her house. She assured me that she would never give LuLu an opportunity to run away. The way Rebecca gave me updates all day long assured me that LuLu was being well cared for and was having a great time. Rebecca is definitely Lulu's new sitter. I couldn't be happier with her care.”

“Chloe was really great to work with our big dog. He has separation anxiety and can be a nervous and shy dog. She did a meet and greet beforehand, listened and asked questions about him. She also sent lots of photos and updates on his first day to make sure we knew he had settled and was doing okay. Really great experience to have for our 80lbs sensitive boy. Thank you!”

About: I've had a 91 lb labradoodle from puppy to now for about 4 years. I've also been told that my cat adopted me about 1.5 years ago. My dog is a happy go lucky guy who's never met a person or animal he didn't like. My cat is about 15 years old and requires injectable medication twice a day, so nothing scares me when it comes to medication. I've taken care of the odd African Grey Parrot from time to time as well. I take my dog out every morning, lunch time and several times in the evening for walks and play. Our cat needs medicine twice a day that requires an injection so I'm well versed in providing medication and taking care of animals with special needs. There's a giant pop up blocking what this field is meant to say but it's saying I have to fill it in, perhaps I can update it later when the pop up is gone.
About: I have always lived in a "Animal" household. We always have had at least one dog plus any number of cats growing up and as an adult I have kept the tradition going. We have 2 German Shepherds that we LOVE as well as three cats. I'm currently working from home part-time and so I have plenty of time to love on some extra animals. I do leave for a short time in the morning to drop my girls off at school/daycare and then again in the afternoon to pick-up but, other than the occasional errand, I am home a majority of the day. I have a chain link fenced in backyard and a large doggie door. My dogs usually have free range of our finished basement and the backyard but, if your pupper needs more limited freedom or more supervision I can accommodate that by closing the doggie door and doing supervised outings or even leashed walks.

About: I have taken care of dogs ever since I could remember. This beginning with family members or neighbors, and eventually turning into one of my favorite hobbies, voulenteering for local animal shelters. I have experience with large dogs and small dogs, and with my time spent volunteering and also with my families own rescue animals, I believe I am a great fit for any dog. My family has a hard time leaving home to travel due to our rescues being not only very bonded to their owner, but perculiar on who they will spend time with. I hope to provide all families a sense of reassurance when needing any extra help! I graduated College in May '25 and am now in the waiting period of hearing back from Law Schools. My schedule is completely open all hours and all days of the week. Depending on the environment provided, I am confident in my ability to walk a dog of any size or just allow them to play in the comfort of their own backyard. Every dog is different and I am able to adjust however they are needing me to.

“Gussie did a wonderful job taking care of Simba, our geriatric Lionhead bunny. She was on time, followed instructions and was excellent in helping us during a stressful time.”

“Zoe was great! She was always on-schedule and was very patient with my weird little girl. She does things like hiding when it's time to go out and then pulling a LOT once you finally get her out. But Zoe never complained and always hung around with the baby for a few minutes of love and play after the walk. My schedule has changed and no longer need a dog-walker, but if I ever need one again, will definitely look for her!”

“Jessica was my lifesaver!!!! I injured my knee and was suddenly unable to walk my dog. She was available on short notice and responded quickly. I was in such a panic but she reassured me that she would take great care of my baby! She was flexible, patient, and kind. I had the worst day and I was being so spastic and crazy and she was sooo sweet to me. I am thankful to have found her . My dog absolutely loved her! She took notes about specific things concerning his care, and she followed all instructions given and had a successful walk with him! She took him to the park, his favorite place :) I am so thankful that Jessica has experience with large breeds and was able to handle my 70 lb dog. She sent me updates and pictures which helped my bad day get soo much better and put my mind at ease seeing my dog so happy and in great hands! She is reliable, responsible, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend Jessica and will definitely have her continue walking my dog until my leg heals (and after that too!) Thank you Jessica- you are the absolute best !!!”

I currently work 9-5 M-F, and am available for morning, midday, and after-work check ins during the work day. Otherwise, I am available for extended visits outside of work hours. About: hey y’all! I’m a Roanoke native that loves animals and the outdoors. I grew up with dogs, cats, and chickens, and I’ve fostered three cats. I’ll treat your pets and your home with great care; animal care is something I take seriously and I believe it’s important for pet owners to have peace of mind when they are away. Look no further for a responsible and reliable adult to care for your animals. “If all the beasts were gone, men would die from a great loneliness of spirit.” At the moment I’m only available on weekends for dogsitting. My weekday schedule is somewhat flexible for drop-in visits or dogwalking. Feel free to inquire. I’m not able to have pets in my own home, but I can provide continuity of care while you are away. The services I offer include dog walking, drop-in visits, and occasionally, pet sitting (including regular walks and feeding). I am happy to accommodate pets with special needs whenever possible.

I have also worked 5+ years at a boarding/grooming facility for dogs and cats. I am comfortable giving medications and bathing if needed. I've always loved any opportunity to work with animals and pet sitting and dog walking are a great opportunity for me to have a flexible schedule for my son and still make a living doing what I love. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you soon! I am currently working part-time so my schedule is pretty flexible. I'm usually able to accommodate whatever your needs may be. About: Hi! My name is Apryl and pets are my favorite people! I love animals of all kinds and especially dogs! I grew up in Indiana and had dogs of all sizes and breeds as a kid and as an adult giving me experience with many breeds including Dobermans, St. Bernards, Newfoundlands, Pit Bulls, Yorkies, Shitzus, Chihuahuas, Chows and more. I have experience with exotics, including birds as well and pretty much feel I can tame and "talk" with any animal. I spent my life as a social worker and therapist and now I am an artist and small business owner. My work allows me to do what I really enjoy which is spend more time with the animals and using my art to bring travel and help bring awareness to the plight of endangered animals around the world. I look forward to helping you care for your pet just as you would and making sure that you and your pet’s Rover experience is furnomenal!
About: Why hello there! The Hallie guarantee is as follows: I will give your pet the care, love, and fun that I would give my own. I recognize the stress that comes with trusting a stranger with your pets, and I am committed to providing comfort for both you and your pet. I’ve been taking care of animals since I can remember and have experience with numerous breeds and energy levels. I work from home Mon-Thurs until 3pm but can be available for a lunchtime walk. I’m available all day Fri-Sun. I’m familiar with the requirements of constant attention to pets. I’m on call 24/7 for my 2 year old German shepherd, Mellie. She’s a lovely, amazing high energy working dog with a hefty owner’s manual. I’m used to my schedule accommodating the highs and lows of pet care. I get how dogs can feel about a stranger in their home, and same for their owners. I’ll follow whatever house rules you’ve got, and respect your dog’s personal space. I’m working to fully understand dog body language & stress indicators, and how to adapt my own behavior appropriately. I don’t offer boarding services at my home - my dog isn’t dog-friendly. I don’t offer overnight housesitting either - I prefer not to leave my dog overnight unless I can find a sitter for her.

“We highly recommend David! This was our first time using Rover and we were nervous about leaving our dog, Olive, for a whole week with someone we didn't know. After meeting David, our fears dissipated and we felt pretty confident that Olive would enjoy her stay. David has a calm, gentle demeanor, and Olive seemed relaxed around him from the beginning. We enjoyed the daily pictures of Olive that he texted to us. We will definitely ask David again if we need someone to watch our dog!”

“Lawdy was absolutely fantastic! She welcomed in my car and made him feel right at home! She replies quickly and made sure to text lots of updates/photos, which I loved so much! Would recommend her to anyone!”

“Candace was a great sitter! Her parents were helpful as well. Cassie was in good hands and was well taken care of. We were so thankful they accommodated us picking up Cassie after our evening flight.”
