I can't remember if I didn't take the vacation or she just wasn't available for the dates I needed but, I didn't use her last year. This year, I needed a sitter for 3 nights as I was going out of town. She took care of my little beagle, Buddy and my golden doodle, Toby. I've had both of these dogs for less than 3 months. When I took them to visit her before the vacation, they took to her and her household immediately so I felt very secure leaving them 2 days later when I went on vacation. My niece also left her little Aussie dog with her as well. Shannon sent lots of pictures of the dogs and descriptions of their activities each day! She let us know if they weren't eating and she gave her input and thoughts as to why they were doing or not doing something unusual. She gave me and my niece both peace of mind and that's the number one thing we needed from a dog sitter. We could tell that she loved on our dogs just as if they were her children and we loved it. “Best. Sitter. EVER. I've tried and been happy (or not) with many boarders, but Jody goes way above and beyond. She's not just knowledgeable and reassuring, she's sweet and kind and will love your fur babies for you. I live in Roanoke, whereas she's in Moneta. But this was such a blessing!! I wanted somewhere Harriet could run and play and feel free and happy. Jody delivers this in a big way- she has several yards of varying sizes with over animals to play with. I kept telling my girl she was going to summer camp, and it turned out to be so true. I don't think she even missed me that much! Please don't let the distance deter you. Jody even offers pickup and drop off services. Harriet gets so anxious going to a boarder's house, but as soon as Jody pulled up, Harriet started wagging her tail and jumped right in her car before I could say goodbye. She's with the dogs all the time- you won't be leaving your pup with someone who leaves them alone. Harriet is very social, and I can tell from just the pictures and videos that her physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met in every way. Please seriously consider Jody- she's phenomenal. I don't really want to tell you this because I want to keep her all to myself, but that would be a gross injustice. She's the best. I won't even consider anyone else again- I'll just move my vacation plans around.”

About: I have over a decade of animal welfare experience. I have been fostering dogs in my home since I was old enough to be approved. Over the past 10 years I have cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages(from litter puppies to hospice care seniors). I am a stay at home parent. My husband travels for work therefore, I am home the majority of the time to care for our family, pets and home. I am available for pet care any and all days of the week. We have a large fenced in back yard. A designated dog area(3 rooms) that leads to the back yard. I have 3 young(3, 2, and 1 1/2) medium sized, well behaved dogs of our own who love to play! My dogs have never been known to resources guard or be aggressive towards other animals. I've never had any issues with dogs I have fostered in the past. However, if an issue does surface, my dogs can be relocated to another area of my home.

During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. “Our previous sitter told me they are moving, which prompted me to search for a new sitter. I decided to try Rebecca, and am I glad I did! I was happy with our first sitter, but LuLu spent her time there just sniffing their yard and snuggling up on the couch with the sitter. She barely ate and wouldn't play with their dog. It was such a delight to see how happy LuLu was at Rebecca's place. She ran around the yard like I haven't seen her do since she was a puppy. When Rebecca thought LuLu needed a rest and brought her inside, LuLu whined to go back out, so out she went for more running around! Finally, she took a nap on the couch, then got up and ate all of her dinner. Then she settled down chewing on her toy until we came back for her. She was happy to see us, but gave Rebecca a tail wag when they said goodbye. I'm so glad LuLu found a place where she can thrive when we're gone. Now I won't hesitate to book a vacation! Rebecca was very attentive to the history I gave her about LuLu and my instructions about her routine and fears. I have had Pitbulls, Great Danes, Mastiffs, a three legged cat, and everything in between under my care. I will treat your pets like they are my own. My pets sleep with me and on every piece of furniture I own. I have cared for pets with complex feeding/diet regimens and physical limitations and exercise requirements. No pet is too difficult or needy in my book. I understand that each animal is special and requires a unique tailored approach. I have two living areas separated by a permanent gate if any animals in my care need to be separated from other animals. I have a lockable dog door that can be completely locked, on a timer, or set to be wide open depending on what level of freedom you want your pets to have for accessing the yard and porch. My couch and bed are pet friendly. I have a cat tree and a room dedicated for cats. I have multiple beds and pet bed with washable covers that can be used by any pet in my care. I can customize a walking schedule for your pet and can come to your house and watch/walk your dog where they are most comfortable, at home. I have a pet friendly car and as long as your dog is friendly towards other animals I have no problem taking your dog to a park or dog park if that is something you and your dog would be interested in. I am very comfortable giving insulin shots to dogs and giving medicine to most pets, cats that have a hard time accepting medications are open for discussion. About: I've had a 91 lb labradoodle from puppy to now for about 4 years. I've also been told that my cat adopted me about 1.5 years ago. My dog is a happy go lucky guy who's never met a person or animal he didn't like. My cat is about 15 years old and requires injectable medication twice a day, so nothing scares me when it comes to medication. I've taken care of the odd African Grey Parrot from time to time as well. I take my dog out every morning, lunch time and several times in the evening for walks and play. Our cat needs medicine twice a day that requires an injection so I'm well versed in providing medication and taking care of animals with special needs. There's a giant pop up blocking what this field is meant to say but it's saying I have to fill it in, perhaps I can update it later when the pop up is gone.
About: I have always lived in a "Animal" household. We always have had at least one dog plus any number of cats growing up and as an adult I have kept the tradition going. We have 2 German Shepherds that we LOVE as well as three cats. I'm currently working from home part-time and so I have plenty of time to love on some extra animals. I do leave for a short time in the morning to drop my girls off at school/daycare and then again in the afternoon to pick-up but, other than the occasional errand, I am home a majority of the day. I have a chain link fenced in backyard and a large doggie door. My dogs usually have free range of our finished basement and the backyard but, if your pupper needs more limited freedom or more supervision I can accommodate that by closing the doggie door and doing supervised outings or even leashed walks.

About: I have taken care of dogs ever since I could remember. This beginning with family members or neighbors, and eventually turning into one of my favorite hobbies, voulenteering for local animal shelters. I have experience with large dogs and small dogs, and with my time spent volunteering and also with my families own rescue animals, I believe I am a great fit for any dog. My family has a hard time leaving home to travel due to our rescues being not only very bonded to their owner, but perculiar on who they will spend time with. I was in such a panic but she reassured me that she would take great care of my baby! She was flexible, patient, and kind. I had the worst day and I was being so spastic and crazy and she was sooo sweet to me. I am thankful to have found her . My dog absolutely loved her! She took notes about specific things concerning his care, and she followed all instructions given and had a successful walk with him! She took him to the park, his favorite place :) I am so thankful that Jessica has experience with large breeds and was able to handle my 70 lb dog. I'm a mother to a 10 year old little boy, 1.5 year old French bulldog, 5 year old pug, 2 year old hound mix, 1 year old boxer, 3 kitty cats and a ball python. When I took them to visit her before the vacation, they took to her and her household immediately so I felt very secure leaving them 2 days later when I went on vacation. My niece also left her little Aussie dog with her as well. Shannon sent lots of pictures of the dogs and descriptions of their activities each day! She let us know if they weren't eating and she gave her input and thoughts as to why they were doing or not doing something unusual. She gave me and my niece both peace of mind and that's the number one thing we needed from a dog sitter. We could tell that she loved on our dogs just as if they were her children and we loved it. “Best. Sitter. EVER. I've tried and been happy (or not) with many boarders, but Jody goes way above and beyond. She's not just knowledgeable and reassuring, she's sweet and kind and will love your fur babies for you. I live in Roanoke, whereas she's in Moneta. But this was such a blessing!! I wanted somewhere Harriet could run and play and feel free and happy. Jody delivers this in a big way- she has several yards of varying sizes with over animals to play with. I kept telling my girl she was going to summer camp, and it turned out to be so true. I don't think she even missed me that much! Please don't let the distance deter you. Jody even offers pickup and drop off services. Harriet gets so anxious going to a boarder's house, but as soon as Jody pulled up, Harriet started wagging her tail and jumped right in her car before I could say goodbye. She's with the dogs all the time- you won't be leaving your pup with someone who leaves them alone. Harriet is very social, and I can tell from just the pictures and videos that her physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met in every way. Please seriously consider Jody- she's phenomenal. I don't really want to tell you this because I want to keep her all to myself, but that would be a gross injustice. She's the best. I won't even consider anyone else again- I'll just move my vacation plans around.”
