Hadley absolutely loves Jo and Cricket and he also came home happy!”

“Danielle was amazing with our cat, Kinako! This was her first time being away from home, but it was very obvious from the pictures and updates that she was in great hands. “Sean and Alyssa always take the best care of Banjo! They send me pictures and videos throughout his stay, and I can tell that he has so much fun with them. They take him on walks everyday, to the dog park to play, and they even make treats for him. When I pick him up he is happy and content, and I know that he’s had a great stay. I work only in the Harrisonburg area so I am all around town. I am a local to Harrisonburg and know all the dog-friendly spots! Pet care fits into my daily schedule as I have always had pets until college, I am use to fixing my schedule around them, as pets are like children. I work short shifts where I drive to different clients all day, giving me many breaks throughout the day to spend time with the pets! I am a very neat and righty person. As I work with elderly patients, I am not afraid of bacteria or most things! I believe I am trustworthy for pet sitting as I have extensive experience in caring for humans.

“Hannah is a lifesaver! My husband and I had to attend a wedding near Harrisonburg, VA, which was a few hours away from home. We usually travel with our dog, Freya, so had to look for someone who can watch her while we attend the event. We couldn't do a meet and greet with Hannah and her dog days before the wedding since she's far but she took her chances with us. She sent us photos of Freya and she let Freya sleep on her bed, which was really sweet given she's only met Freya that same day. That, plus her calming approach made Freya, and me as a dog mom, feel at ease with her. I will definitely recommend her and use her services again if we come back to the area. Thank you, Hannah!”

“Ana was a fantastic petsitter. She was very flexible when we were unable to meet in person and had to send virtual care instructions. She went above and beyond expectations by checking in on our pet hedgehog and by handling our pet conure during visits. Thank you so much Ana!”

“Lauren took wonderful care of our cats! She really went above and beyond. I am so relieved to know I can go away and trust that they'll be well cared for. Usually the cats are mad at me when I return from a trip but they were immediately friendly when I came home this time!”

“Estefani is the best! She was soooo sweet with my senior kitty. She is a great communicator and sent lovely updates each day. I felt so much better knowing she was looking after my cat. 10/10 would recommend!”

“I am very appreciative of Karmy looking after my kitties! She did a very good job and made sure to communicate with me! I think my cats enjoyed having her come by, it definitely put my mind at ease while being gone! I will definitely be using her again!”

“Cate was great! She came by to meet Callie and I, and she took great care of her. Callie did not seem at all upset that I was gone. And she even washed the sheets from the bed — which I did not expect her to do! This was my first time using Rover/Cate and I will definitely use her again!”

“Jenna did a great job with my two cats. They are quite shy and go into hiding when anyone comes to the house. It took some time but by the end Ricky was greeting Jenna and getting some pets. Can't give a better endorsement than that! I had an accident while on vacation and needed help for about 5 weeks longer than planned which Jenna was able to do. That was extremely helpful. I would definitely use Jenna again an highly recommend her.”

“I recently had Sarah care for my two cats, while I was out of the country for 10 days, and she did a fantastic job. My cats are pretty easy to look after - just food, water, litter box, and a little playtime but she went above and beyond. When I returned, the cats were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Nothing in the house was disturbed, which shows they felt loved and secure. On top of that, Sarah was thoughtful enough to bring in my mail and even took the trash can in from the curb, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend her to friends and will definitely book her again in the future!”

“Jenesis was amazing! She made sure to take extra care of my pup and make her feel at ease while I was away. She was flexible with my late evening pick up time and even watched my dog longer than I had originally asked/needed her to. Please book with her if you need a sitter!!”

“We truly appreciate Brandy! We booked very last minute with brandy. Being on vacation we brought our epileptic pup and he wasn’t coping well in a new place being alone. So we downloaded this app for the first time and booked with her while we went out. She responded when I checked on him, and sent me pictures of him while he was with her. We are even booked an extra day with her while we were here because he did so well in her care! Thank you Brandy !!”

About: I kind of fell into the dog sitting fun. My mom used to “sit” with every kind of being from baby to dog before it became a popular hustle. Growing up I’ve always helped and learned from her how to care for other’s family members as one’s own. In my spare time, I love to hike and I walk everyday. I'd love to have your companion as a sidekick on these adventures. Or even just enjoy a leisurely walk. Coming into one’s home is an act of trust and a privilege. This is not lost on me. I have every intention of respecting the needs and privacy of my clients.
About: Energetic, up and coming dog trainer! I studied for two years at a shop with a dog nutritionist, have apprenticed with a dog trainer for the past year, and just completed a six month program with Highland Canine Dog Training in North Carolina. I love working with any and all pets including but not limited to puppies, senior dogs, large breeds, anxious pets, cats and even small animals including rats. Any help I can offer with your pet I am here for it! I work part time throughout the week but I officially started my dog training business Howl to Heel LLC and that is my main priority! I will do anything to work in my pet parents into my schedule and offer all assistance needed! I have my dogs fully vaccinated, crate trained and constantly active with new training goals. I have experience working with all different dog breeds and ages. I have taken courses in dog body language to help navigate communication with our furry friends to know when a little help is needed. Great option if you’re visiting luray, they are north of Harrisonburg so the drive down and back to luray were short. Highly recommended”

“She is very reliable. She also communicates if something is not right with the dogs, which I very much appreciate. She is excellent. I would recommend her to everyone.”

“Ana was amazing! Very responsive and responsible. She took great care of the pups and was very accommodating. I will definitely have her take care of our pups again!”

“Krista was great. Zoe immediately loved her and Coby didn’t mind the wake up call from the couch to meet his new friend. Dogs were walked, fed, and given treats as requested. Proper leash, walking perimeter followed, house locked, and key promptly returned. We even received a picture of the walk. Neither dog expressed any separation anxiety while their humans were on a day trip. I was super happy and will call on Krista in the future. Dogs give her 5 woofs!”

About: I’ve cared for animals most of my life, with decades of hands-on experience, starting with gerbils and my first Siamese cat when I was nine. I’ve also had parakeets for several years. Friends and family have often relied on me for drop-in visits. I’ve always liked the different qualities animals bring, cats with their emotional honesty and dogs with their energy and engagement. I also notice how they relate to the world in their own ways, dogs tend to look for connection and interaction, cats move more on their own terms, and horses are often more tuned in to their surroundings and quick to respond when something feels off. Keeping that in mind helps me adjust my approach so each one feels comfortable and understood. As a young adult, I worked a couple summers in a dog kennel, where my interest in obedience, canine behavior, and training really took off and grew from there. I also spent several summers at horse camp early on, where I gained hands-on experience with horse care, handling, and stable routines. I’ve always enjoyed riding horseback, and still do when I can. Those early experiences shaped how I approach animals today. I’m naturally more at ease with animals, calm, steady, and patient, and I’m attentive to how they communicate and what they need. The first dogs I had of my own were a street-mix, Ringo, then a Giant Schnauzer and later a Husky mix, Harley, and in more recent years, my best buddy, Achy, was a Jack Russell Terrier. Caring for him through different stages of life deepened my understanding of attentive, consistent care. With my Schnauzer, Bella, I trained and competed in obedience, which gave me a strong appreciation for structure, consistency, and clear communication. Some of my animals were adopted, while others I raised from puppyhood, which gave me experience with both early training and supporting animals as they settle into new environments. I appreciate that each animal has its own personality, comfort level, and needs, especially when their routine changes, and I do my best to keep things as familiar and steady as possible. My experience includes: • Daily care, feeding, walks, play, companionship • Supporting anxious, sensitive, or high-energy pets • Keeping routines consistent • Reinforcing basic training and boundaries • Basic first aid for dogs and cats (minor wounds, claw injuries, and general care) • Grooming and brushing, including tick checks and removal (and basic hoof care for horses) • Care for small animals, birds and fish, including cage cleaning and basic aquarium upkeep I take a calm, patient approach and don’t rush interaction. I allow trust to build naturally so pets feel secure and comfortable while you’re away. I’m comfortable caring for dogs, cats, and small animals such as rodents, birds, and ferrets. At this time, I don’t offer care for reptiles or arachnids. I also have experience with horses from years of riding, and while it’s been some time, I’m comfortable assisting with basic care. At home, I currently care for a senior rescue cat, Aggy, which keeps me mindful of the extra patience and attention older animals often need. I’m comfortable with routine care such as eye drops, tablets, and grooming or brushing. For injections, IVs, or more advanced medical care, I recommend working with a veterinary professional. While I’m new to Rover, caring for animals has been a consistent part of my life. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my priority. I am self-employed and currently work part-time, which gives me flexibility in my daily and weekly schedule. I’m able to plan pet care around the needs of the pet owner and provide reliable, attentive care. I provide care in the pet owner’s home to keep things familiar and comfortable for the pet. My visits typically include up to four shorter potty breaks throughout the day, along with a longer walk and evening care. Overnight stays follow a consistent routine to support a sense of safety and stability, as both dogs and cats tend to feel more at ease with familiar patterns. During each visit, I make sure pets are fed, have fresh water, get appropriate exercise, and receive calm, attentive companionship. I follow care instructions closely, keep an eye on behavior and overall wellbeing, and provide regular photo and video updates so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I’m respectful of your home and routines, and I’m happy to take care of small details, such as watering houseplants, if requested.

Our dog, Stanley, needs to be let out every 4-5 hours, so between the two of us, we make sure that happens. We also take a trip to an on-site dog park every morning and night! I only go when there are no other dogs for safety purposes. I’d love to host your dog if he/she gets along with other dogs- I have a 9 lb chihuahua/yorkie mix who has got some quirks. He is very intimidated by bigger dogs and uses his voice to make up for his size, which usually provokes dogs (even the un-provokable), so I can only accept smaller dogs and in order to keep everyone safe, I like to do meet and greets prior to booking. If your dog is not great with other dogs and/or is larger than 30 lbs, I’d be happy to do frequent drop in visits throughout the day.
About: I’ve grown up with animals my whole life and have taken care of relatives and friends dogs for years. I’ve helped my parents raise their dog from little to her seniorhood. I am home all throughout the day on weekdays and weekends!! I love animals and would be happy to work around someone’s busy schedule. I can travel to meet you at your need! I’ll work with your preferences and special needs. I can come walk your dog and stop by to make sure they are doing okay if need be. Every dog type, size, and age I can care for and have no problem being around and playing with. I would love to help you out and watch after your loved pets! I am able to care for dogs every day from morning to night as I am home during that time. I am able to fully provide all of my attention to your pet. I live in a very safe and walkable neighborhood with a wonderful walking path. I also live a street away from a clean and safe dog park, that at your discretion would be happy to take your dog to.

About: I have always had dogs in my life and have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, personalities, and needs. For over a year I have volunteered at an animal shelter where I regularly walk, spend time with, and care for dogs with a variety of behaviors and energy levels. I have also dog sat multiple times, both by welcoming dogs into my home and caring for pets in their own homes. As a graduate student, I have developed strong responsibility, communication, and time-management skills, and I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. As a graduate student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate time and attention to pet care. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, whether that means walks, playtime, drop-in visits, or keeping pets company. I make it a priority to provide reliable care and make sure pets receive attention, exercise, and consistency in their routine. I understand that every pet has different needs and routines, and I always strive to make them feel comfortable and secure. I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, energy levels, and behaviors through both pet sitting and volunteering at an animal shelter. I carefully follow owners’ instructions, maintain a safe environment, and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and care while keeping owners updated along the way.
About: My love for animals stemmed from when I grew up taking care of my cousin’s beautiful 4 month old pitbull/sharpei mix up until she was 12. I have also watched my friends’ cats and am always happy being around them. I love learning more about animals and getting to know their unique, interesting personalities. I’m heavily intuitive of their needs and love communicating with them withal. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends but I am a very flexible person and would like to adapt to others’ schedules and to help people out with my extra time. I always try to spend as much time outside as I can and it would be amazing to have a companion with me while I go for walks or just spend time outside when needed :) I currently don’t have any pets but I have a fenced backyard with a good amount of space, I am very flexible so I can adjust to the animal’s individual needs and the owner’s.
About: Entrusted with numerous pet care opportunity through acquaintances, friends and family. No preference on dogs or cats, I can catch on quick to whatever they task may be for the need of your pet. I’m currently working part time, so my schedule is pretty open at your disposal. I don’t mind driving, so reasonable distance isn’t an issue for checks up, walks or overnight stay if need be. I’m a very detail oriented person who’s been hired sporadically since being in the 540 area coming to school at JMU in 2015, and returning as a graduate assistant coach in last year. I’m very familiar with the area, so that will never really be an issue for me. I will be a great communicator understanding the situation and will make sure you feel great about the situation before, during and after.

“Danielle was amazing with our cat, Kinako! This was her first time being away from home, but it was very obvious from the pictures and updates that she was in great hands. It was also her first time being around so many other pets, but they were very sweet with her and she seemed surprisingly at ease :) We're excited to book with Danielle again whenever we're out of town!”

You can tell they are so intentional with the care they provide, I highly reccomend Sean and Alyssa when you need someone safe and reliable to watch your pup!!”

“Kara and her family were amazing with my husky! They had him for 5 days while we were out of town and I have nothing but great things to say about them. My boy was well taken care of, he was happy and communication was consistent (something I highly appreciated) They took him on walks, played with him and gave him lots of love. We totally recommend her!”

“Jenesis was outstanding. We were in a panicked situation and she was very responsive to help. She was very kind and comforting to Chip during his stay and sent video and photos of him throughout his stay. She was wonderful about staying in touch with us anc keeping us updated on his walks and meals and how he was doing in general. I would recommend Jenesis to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets and we will use Jenesis again next time we are in town.”

“Highly recommend Brandy and her family they are Great! It’s an awesome feeling to know that my fur babies are being taken care of and loved while I am away. Brandy sends pictures and chats to let me know that my fur babies are having fun too. Thanks Brandy for everything!”

“Midnight was well cared for by Beth, and I would definitely use her again to care for my little family member. She was very reassuring by text and pictures to my nervous inquiries. If Midnight could speak, I'm sure he would tell me he was well fed, well exercised and most importantly, well loved by Beth.”

“Kendyl was amazing. She updated me regularly. Took my dog on a trail. She introduced my puppy to a world he has never seen. Like chickens, children. Thank you so much kendel.”

“Sophia was excellent!! Starting with the meet and greet, she was an absolute pleasure to work with! She sent detailed and regular updates, including letting us know about anything out of the ordinary. She administered medications as needed and was very understanding of my dog’s anxiety. I can tell my dog was very happy, loved, and well cared for while I was away! I would absolutely use Sophia’s services again!”

“Rebecca was the best! She was so flexible in meeting me to drop off/pick up my dog, and I could tell that my dog loved spending time with her. She was smiling and wagging her tail when I picked her up and I know she had the best time. She sent photos throughout her stay and kept me in the loop. If I ever need someone to watch Willow again I know who to contact. Thank you!”

About: I have taken care of pets for many years now for relatives, neighbors, and friends. It is something I enjoy to do when my schedule is open enough to do so! I am providing stop in, walking, day to day, and overnight care for pets. This includes regular activities like walking, playing, potty, feeding, car rides, cuddles, all included in the set price. I can also bathe the pets for an additional fee. I currently work full time my work day is typically split in half. Giving me the perfect timestamps throughout the day to check in on the pets.

“Joe and Lilibet were very welcoming to Booker who very much enjoyed his time with them. Will absolutely book again. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a Rover in/around Staunton area.”

About: I have cared for many pets of friends and family members over the years. Sadly, I had to put my own dog down this fall (13yo Boxer named Neeco) and am looking to get my pup fix through volunteering at the SPCA and pet-sitting/walking, as I am not quite ready to take on another dog just yet. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages, but I especially love senior doggos. I currently work part-time as an RN and make my own schedule, so am very flexible in that regard. Available for boarding most weekends Friday-Monday. My yard is unfenced but on a very private road with low traffic. Lots of trails and streams to explore if that is something your fur baby would enjoy! If not, we have a large deck and screened in porch for outdoor lounging, and big comfy couch by the fireplace for them to relax.
