About: I have been caring for dogs for friends and neighbors for many years and have decided to branch out and find some more dogs to watch! I love every single dog that visits me, and they love me. Dog owners tell me it is the best possible home away from home and they feel so comfortable that their dog is in such good hands. Dogs are so happy with me, and I love having them around and sharing pics with you if you like when the dog is here. Lots of love, cuddles on the sofa, and plenty of walks around the neighborhood is what will happen here. I can only care for hypo-allergenic breeds or small short-haired dogs as my family has some allergies.

About: I’ve been around and cared for dogs all of my life. I work from home with a nice fenced backyard and I live across the street from Bluemont park with lots of fields and trails for exploring. I have a 10 year old golden Cavalier (Clover) and we go on long walks in the park and around the neighborhood. Your dog will be allowed on the furniture and the bed if you like or in their crate when needed if that is your preference. I’m home all day and give lots of attention to the dogs I care for. I will only care for one dog at a time along with my dog. I am self employed and work from home so your dog will get lots of attention. Your dog will rarely be left alone and if so not for a long time. I take daily walks (2 times a day) so that is already part of my routine. I have a fenced yard and a doggie door if your dog likes to use that. I also have a 10 year old golden Cavalier to keep your dog company.

About: Hi! I’m Cora, a student majoring in Food Science in Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I grew up in Arlington and will be staying here for the rest of the spring and summer. As a lifelong caretaker and lover of animals, I am really excited to join Rover and show some love to the pets here. I have always been obsessed with animals, and my experience in a variety of contexts makes me confident I can give your pet the best possible care while you’re away. I practically grew up in my local animal shelter, reading to rescue cats and waiving adoption fees through bake sales. As soon as I was old enough, I became an official volunteer, responsible for socializing animals, walking dogs, and adhering to the highest safety and sanitation standards. I became certified in rescue pet welfare through the Fear Free Shelter program, giving me the knowledge necessary to put shy dogs at ease. I also foster puppies through the Lost Dog Rescue foundation, giving me a firm grasp on the needs of younger dogs, from potty training to administering medication. Need a sitter for an exotic pet? No problem! In high school, I took a Career and Technical Education class in the advanced small animal sciences. I gained hands-on experience with countless pet species, from leopard geckos to chinchillas to cockatiels (and everything in between!) I also wrote a research report on the welfare of the school’s rabbits, taught the class cats how to high-five, and became certified in pet first aid through the National Association of Pets and Pet Sitters. I have lots of experience in cat care - including grooming, nail trimming, and oral medications. I have 3 cats of my own, so I’m very adaptive to all sorts of cat personalities! My experience with dog care is just as plentiful! I’ve taken many on fun walks, played fetch, groomed fur, and dispensed oral medication. I’m rather good when it comes to pulling on leashes, and I also have experience training young puppies. I’m available at all times during the week! Whether you’re looking for someone to check in on your pup to feed, give bathroom breaks, groom, or play with, I’m available morning, afternoon and evening! The same applies to kitty owners! I always make sure all fenced in homes are securely locked in the event a dog wants to play outside. All leashes and collars will be checked before walks, and if your dog isn’t friendly with other dogs I will be sure to maintain a safe space between myself and other owners. As for cats, I always make sure that all doors are quickly closed and closed all the way to prevent any indoor kitties from escaping. If your cat is outdoor/indoor, I’ll make sure they get back inside safe and sound!

“Harley was so happy to go back to Jennifer and her wonderful family for a long weekend. He gets showered with love by Jennifer, her sweet daughter Ramsey, and Grandmom Anne! I’m so happy he gets a happy easy-going doggy friend in Khali, and experience with Pursey the cat. It’s so nice knowing that he is so beautifully cared for. Jennifer was extra kind this time, giving him medicine and more walks since he couldn’t run around her spacious front yard due to a healing injury. We love getting updates and adorable pictures throughout his time there. I’m not sure Harley really wanted to leave!”

“Shaela did a great job caring for Astro on his 10 day stay with her and her pup, Luna. She was patient with his finnicky eating habits and tried her best to get him to eat. Luna and Astro coexisted peacefully during the stay, with no issues reported. Shaela sent a couple of photos and provided updates every couple of days. The neighborhood is busier than what Astro is accustomed to which scared him, but he eventually grew comfortable. I would leave Astro with Shaela and Luna again!”
