“This weekend was our first experience using Rover for a sitter for our pup, Maisie, and we couldn’t have asked for better than Alyce and her family to watch her! Alyce hosted us for a meet and greet beforehand to make sure that Maisie and her dog would get along, which really put our minds at ease. Over the course of her stay, we received several photos and videos of Maisie playing with the other dogs and with Alyce’s sons, and you could just tell she was having a fantastic time. She really liked the variety toys that Alyce keeps for the dogs and roaming the nice, fenced backyard! “Nyla and Corey took excellent care of my pets while I was visiting my brother in Alexandria. They were able to accommodate a last minute request due to an unforeseen work situation I was in. Corey was able to pick up my pups and bring them home which was a huge help, as I am not very familiar with the DC Metro area in addition to the horrific traffic. They sent me photos during the day to let me know how my dogs were doing, which was great as I am a helicopter pet parent. What began as a last minute doggy day care issue became a blessing as I will always utilize Corey and Nyla in the future when visiting my brother in Alexandria. I should also mention that I have a bossy female toy poodle Lu and a mini Aussie puppy Finn. They are both well trained but get super excited being around new people and Finn needs mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. They both came home to me happy and sleepy, I know that Finn would not be sleepy if he did not get the stimulation that he needs especially at this stage of his life. Thank you, Corey and Nyla! About: I’ve had furry family members all my life. Finally got my own and live having a pup to train, pamper and love on. Let me share that experience with you and your pup as well☺️ I work from home, which makes pup care easier. My pup goes on a 30-60min walk or fetch in the fenced s hook fields near me around 7.30-8, eats around 10.30am with a quick walk outside soon after. She naps and is free to play. Last walk and dinner is around 6.30-7.30. Jade sleeps in her crate beside my bed. I’m able to give as much attention to her as needed because my schedule is flexible. I am very tidy and keep hazards away from the pups. I use dog-safe cleaning products. I also have a nest doorbell camera to monitor those coming and going. Plants are out of reach. About: My entire family has dogs and I’ve always loved them. I had a dog in high school, Oreo; she was a pitbull mix and she was my first dog. I learned most of my training experience from Oreo and taking her to training sessions. One of my previous jobs was at a dog grooming establishment, I was there for a year and two months as the receptionist. During my time at the dog grooming place I formed relationships not only with our human customers but also the furbabies. I’ve met all kinds of dog breeds through my old job and in passing throughout the streets of DC. My old coworker called me the dog whisperer. When customers came in and said their dog might not take to me I always managed to get them to warm up to me. I can’t tell you how many times I heard “they’ve never done that with anyone before”, not only from owners but my coworkers too. I’ve calmed the most rowdy dogs like it was nothing because I love dogs with my entire heart. I have a huge soft spot for big dogs, especially pitbulls and german shepherds. I’ve worked with many breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments. There’s not a dog I’ve encountered who I haven’t been able to work my magic on, I hope to continue doing so with Rover. I’m currently working full time but I live extremely close to my job, like 5 minutes away, so I’m able to check on the dogs throughout the day. I’ll make sure to use a dog cam to make sure they’re okay as well. On my days off I’ll be home to watch them all day. I live in an apartment with surrounding grass areas for the dog to relieve themselves. I used to dog sit for a previous roommate of mine while in an apartment, so I’m familiar with timing bathroom breaks according to the time it takes to get outside. The dogs are free to roam my living space, I’ll make sure to close off the bedrooms unless they are with me. There will be a designated area for their things (crate, bed, toys, etc). I’m pretty flexible, I want to maintain the dog’s routine as much as possible especially their training.

She has a really cute ground level apartment right next to the Ballston Commons, and it has access to a fenced in shared yard for bathroom breaks. About: I have taken care of dogs for over 20 years- I am great with all breeds and have a knack for training puppies (and older dogs too!) I am working from home and live right along a beautiful pet friendly park! I go on walks and runs throughout the day so love taking pups out with me! I ensure dogs are well taken care of and have experience administering different medications to dogs (including allergy injections) and following dietary restrictions or other needs. About: Not just another dog lover! I’ve had at least one dog, plus, at all times. Most from a puppy until departure. Experience with rescued dogs in making them feel comfortable/relaxed. We had a rescue from Hurricane Katrina. I’m very patient, caring, & don’t mind petting or playing all day. I’m hoping to give them the love and care when you can’t be ther. I work from home several days during the week and can properly share my time for walks, feeding, and playing. I have a Cocker Spaniel who gets along with other dogs well. About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life — from our childhood Irish Setter, Sadie, to our five cats and three birds. Beyond family pets, I’ve also cared for my own animals, including my boss’s elderly Chihuahua, Tu, who is now a sweet 15‑year‑old “little old lady” that I look after entirely, as well as my pony, Sea Star. I bottle‑fed Sea Star as a child, trained him to ride, and taught him to pull a cart throughout high school. I have hands-on experience that I believe typical pet-sitters do not hold. Some examples include dog-sitting for our neighbors for two summers in middle school, managing their eight rescue dogs with no issues and also volunteering to feed and care for a friend’s 13 horses once a week, morning and night, throughout an entire winter. I also just completed a 2 month house sitting job for a family this summer. I maintained their home, their many, many plants and also took detailed care of their 3 adorable cats. Over the years, I’ve taken responsibility for all of our family pets as well when parents or siblings have gone away on trips (canaries, parakeets, 2 dogs and 5 cats.) “I was impressed with Daniel right from the start! He is a very humble, respectful, responsible, kind young man who loves animals. My dog Sophie immediately took to him and she would have great walks with him. I asked a lot from Daniel when I went on holiday…and he delivered! He came to my home for 10 days to not only walk my dog but also feed her…give her medicine, and as a bonus, he played with her. Socializing w Sophie went a long way because she was alone most of the time. He would always be on time and, when another dog walker canceled, he quickly covered that shift. No questions or higher charge. He sent a lot of photos too. Since I’ve been back from my holiday, I’ve been in poor health. I texted Daniel and he is now my dog walker on days when I’m unable to take Sophie out myself. Again, punctual & always thinking about what’s best for my dog…. For example, He remembers to dry Sophie’s paws when they arrive from a walk in the snow or rain. I highly recommend Daniel as your dog walker or sitter.”

About: I’ve helped to take care of cats my since I was a young kid and have gotten more experience in caring for dogs over the last few years. I’ve always loved animals, and I am a very meticulous person so I will pay great attention to make sure your pet(s) and home are well cared for. I worked for a few years as a scientist prior to starting medical school last year, so attention to detail is a skill I’ve learned to hone. I’m currently on break from school, so I have a fairly free schedule at the moment. Once my classes start again I’d like to move into something I can do more so in the mornings or evenings, but my schedule will still be more flexible than a typical 9-5.
