“We left our dog Stanley with Edwin and his wonderful family for a 9-day stay, and they did a fantastic job! Edwin kept us updated with photos and messages, showing Stanley eating, getting brushed, going on walks, and settling in. Anytime I checked in, Edwin was quick to respond and always communicative. We had a great feeling about the stay after a meet-and-greet with Edwin and his family a week before our trip. From the moment we arrived, Edwin took the leash and was confidently in control of Stanley. We’ve done meet-and-greets before where the sitter gives your dog a few pats and focuses more on chatting with you. This was more like a test drive, where Edwin paid close attention to how Stanley handled the new environment. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they took the responsibility seriously and that Stanley would be well cared for while we were away. Stanley is pretty easy going... until it thunders. Then he becomes very anxious. Unfortunately, there were a few storms while we were away. We left medication to help, but it takes awhile to kick in and it sometimes only takes the edge off. If you have a dog like this, you feel pretty helpless during these storms. There is no magic fix. You make them as comfortable as possible, but the only way "out" is getting through the storm. Edwin was proactive with the medication, and along with his family, helped Stanley ride out those storms as well as we could have ourselves. We’re grateful to Edwin and his family for taking such great care of Stanley and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter.”

Contractors showed up unexpectedly during the week, and she thoughtfully asked if they’d be back so she could plan her visits around them; just to help minimize stress for Frida. That level of care and consideration meant so much. Her visit reports were incredibly thorough. She detailed every litter box scoop (including type), and when Frida got into human food in the pantry, she not only took photos but also made sure the food was secured so it wouldn’t happen again. At one point we thought our auto feeder had failed, and she troubleshot it until she confirmed it was working properly. Frida, who is usually shy, warmed up to her instantly and showered her with affection at every visit. It was clear she has a natural gift with cats; she truly is the cat lady of Lockhart. About: As a kid in California, I loved cats but never FULLY understood them until I was an adult. Cats, as they say, are a lesson in consent; they are the Zen masters who teach us the way; they are the speaker through whom we come to accept what the world actually is; they are a puzzle one must be humble enough to accept we're still trying to figure out; they are the authentic companion who can join us within our solitude. Dogs were domesticated to be obedient and friendly and dependent but cats walk alongside us as if they're also equally as interested in figuring out the complex and confusing world as we are. I've been a full-time pet sitter for 10 years and most of my sits were with cats (there were lots of pack-style boarding in Salt Lake City for dogs!); at the start of our relationship, calm and quiet on my part allowed the kitties to open up and therefore "teach" me via their behavior what they were saying. When animals, especially cats, know we are listening, they "talk" more, and inevitably, establishing the expectation that I'd "listen" created a positive feedback loop allowing them to feel safe, have fun and live the best life they can while their family was away. During visits, I allow cats to call the shots: do they want to play, eat/clean/nap, snuggle, enjoy an open window, have an audience while they zoomie around? It all depends! But I'm hearing it all, and therein, a strong relationship is built.

About: I have worked with animals most my life. At a young age, I was helping out and working with the animals. As i got older i fell in love with being around any animal i found. In high school i took vet classes. I was able to work with actual animals learning how to bath, simple grooms, nail trims, anal glads and more. I have worked at a vet clinic administering medications, taking animals on walks, restraining, helping sick animals, puppies/kittens, and working with old pets. I have worked alongside experienced trainers and with amazing groomers, but most of my career I spent working as a kennel manager at a boarding/daycare/vet facility. About: I've been around dogs my entire life, I love dogs and I've been pet sitting for friends and family for many years. My own personal dogs are heelers named Bobby and Nico. Bobby’s been through a lot in his life (broken leg) but I've gained a lot of experience caring for him while injured and gained a lot of knowledge in general dog care in our 7 years together. They’re both high energy dogs that love being outside so I enjoy taking them on hikes. I majored in Animal Science focusing on livestock but if I can handle a large animal, you bet I can handle any breed or size of dog. About: I have had a few dogs from friends and families that I have taken care of over the years for free. I have my own dog that I have had since he was a puppy that is very well trained would love to meet other dogs and experience new fur friends. I work at home and I take breaks very very often. I go to my backyard and even parks just to walk. I would love to take them for walks as well. I have a fenced in backyard and my dogs go out often. Morning, Afternoon, and 2 times in the evening. Just to make sure dogs use the bathroom and get that energy out before they fall asleep.

About: I love dogs. My past pet experience are amazing dogs are the most pure-hearted animals I know. One comment I get a lot of that I attracted a lot of animals, cats too. I love cats as much as dogs, one think that will set me apart from other sitters is that I want the dog to trust me. I want the dogs I take care of to see me as someone that they are ok with and not someone that is just there to watch them. I want them to enjoy the time with me as much as I will enjoy my time with them. “We left our dog Stanley with Edwin and his wonderful family for a 9-day stay, and they did a fantastic job! Edwin kept us updated with photos and messages, showing Stanley eating, getting brushed, going on walks, and settling in. Anytime I checked in, Edwin was quick to respond and always communicative. We had a great feeling about the stay after a meet-and-greet with Edwin and his family a week before our trip. From the moment we arrived, Edwin took the leash and was confidently in control of Stanley. We’ve done meet-and-greets before where the sitter gives your dog a few pats and focuses more on chatting with you. This was more like a test drive, where Edwin paid close attention to how Stanley handled the new environment. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they took the responsibility seriously and that Stanley would be well cared for while we were away. Stanley is pretty easy going... until it thunders. Then he becomes very anxious. Unfortunately, there were a few storms while we were away. We left medication to help, but it takes awhile to kick in and it sometimes only takes the edge off. If you have a dog like this, you feel pretty helpless during these storms. There is no magic fix. You make them as comfortable as possible, but the only way "out" is getting through the storm. Edwin was proactive with the medication, and along with his family, helped Stanley ride out those storms as well as we could have ourselves. We’re grateful to Edwin and his family for taking such great care of Stanley and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter.”
