About: With over 25 years of hands-on pet care experience, I provide knowledgeable, dependable care with a focus on trust, safety, and compassion. I’ve trained dogs in flyball, obedience, and everyday manners and am comfortable caring for dogs with a variety of needs. I’m also experienced with administering medications, including subcutaneous injections. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable home environment where dogs get plenty of attention and companionship while also having the structure and downtime they need to relax. I work from home and live here full-time, so your dog will have plenty of companionship and supervision throughout the day. I do step out occasionally for errands or personal time, but I’m home the vast majority of the time, day and night. Because I work from home, my household is best suited for dogs who are comfortable settling down between play and activity. My own dogs enjoy some playtime, but they are also very good at relaxing when it’s time to be quiet. While I’m working, I need everyone to be able to settle calmly in the house or in their crate. For most dogs, this means being crate trained—not just comfortable going into a crate, but able to relax and settle there when needed. I’m happy to provide breaks and attention throughout the day, with potty/play breaks typically in the morning, around lunchtime, and in the evening. I don’t leave dogs unattended in the backyard, so outdoor time is supervised. Walks are usually once a day, weather permitting, generally in the evening but sometimes in the morning. My home tends to be the best fit for dogs with a lower energy level or those on the calmer end of moderate energy. Younger or playful dogs can absolutely be a good fit if they know how to settle between activities, respect personal space, respond well to redirection, and can relax independently.

“We hadn’t left our 10-year-old silver Lab with anyone in a long time, and we really didn’t want to board her in a large facility. We were looking for something more personal and calm, and Roland ended up being a perfect fit. Communication was great from the start, which made leaving for an extended Europe trip much easier. Our dog got lots of individual attention and gentle socialization with Roland’s dog Coco, and she was clearly comfortable and happy while we were away. Roland even worked with her on a few behaviors and took the time to show us how to continue that at home, which we really appreciated. We came home to a relaxed, well-cared-for dog. He’ll definitely be our first call for future pet sitting and boarding, and we highly recommend him.”
