I’ve tried this option in the past and have actually found that dogs are much less anxious staying in a place they are familiar with :) I always question if the dog has any separation anxiety. I've dealt with plenty of dogs that experience separation anxiety and I have learned many tricks on how to help ease them into the stay and to feel more comfortable. But having the heads up helps that much more! I don't really have any breed preferences, just that they are friendly! Knox would stay at home unless it is okay to bring him over now and then or you'd prefer if they were to stay with us in your home. About: I grew up on a farm in Indiana and we were known as a place folks could dump big dogs. At one point we had 5 adult St Bernards - so I do love big dogs. However, even though I’m on the first floor, there are stairs and elevators to get to the outside. If you big dog struggles with stairs this might not be the happiest place for them. Overall, I have been around dogs are all sizes all my life. My only request is that they like cats as I have 3 boys who are not brave. I’m a healthcare analyst who works 99% of the time remote. My complex as a lovely dog park and I live in a highly walkable part of Midtown/Montrose. I’m in a complex with a lovely dog park and will require the use of a leash when the dog isn’t in my home or in a fenced dog park.

About: I've always had at least one dog - the longest stint being my Australian Cattle Dog (before they were cool) for 16 years. I raised her from 6 weeks old and she was with me for some of the most important parts of my life. She passed away a couple of years ago, and I'm not ready for another dog yet. My son really wants a dog though, and this is our compromise. I've also had cats, including one who I loved to death but when we found out my son was allergic, we had to give him up. (He also ended up living 17-18 years.) The allergies don't stop my son from interacting with cats in shorter periods of time - we love going to play with the ones at Petsmart. Currently we have a rabbit, some chickens, and a leopard gecko. I work from home so I would be with your pet for most (if not all) of the day, if sitting in my home. In between work we can play and I can let them out. Weather permitting, we can go for walks. My back yard isn't fenced but it is sizeable so it's hard to wander off unless you've got a runner. In that case, I can take them out on a leash. I will send photos if you request them. Um, not sure what else to put here. I'm open to pre-visits.

I practice this value of care by taking time with animals and plants of all variety since I was a child. As a kid growing up in Louisiana, I gave care to a turtle, bird, dog, fish, and crawfish! As an adult, I’ve supported my friends in caregiving for their cats and well as co-loving the cat who takes care of our property- Granny Smith Kiwi. I have completely open availability other than a summer trip from July 27 to August 3. I am mobile and can care for your babies on site or bring them other for boarding in my plant-filled home. I create a safe and trusted environment for your fur and reptilian babies by developing a deep understanding an asking thorough questions about their routine. I hope to be a continuation of the love and care that you offer them.

Unless your pet requires their food at specific times, they will follow the same schedule feeding and care (which is always in plenty) with my own pet. I have no problem crating your animal if there are used to having their own safe space. I also have a wonderfully sunny balcony that they are welcomed to hang out on under supervision. If spending the night, they are welcome to sleep in the room so they aren’t lonely!

“Delilah is nothing short of excellent. She is professional, honest, very organized, is attentive to detail, and will treat your pets like family. We had never boarded our trio of Japanese Chins and are new to Houston. Thankfully, we found Delilah and scheduled a meet and greet prior to boarding. She made us feel at ease with her warm personality and calm demeanor and we trusted that she was the right person to watch our dogs for 11 days. Her daily updates were so fun. We looked forward to them each night and we could tell our dogs were feeling right at home with Delilah. She gave them baths and washed all their bedding before we picked them up. They were so soft and smelled so good! We are lucky to have found Delilah and will definitely be booking with her again when we travel in the future. We can’t recommend her enough.
