About: I have had cats all of my life, including starys that I adopted, and all have lived long, healthy lives. I am able to administer medications and even did shots for a diabetic cat. I don’t mind changing litter boxes and have a good system for my own cats so they always have a clean litter box. I often house & cat sit for my sister, who travels a lot. She usually has 2-5 indoor cats and also cares for several outdoor stary cats. She often finds them homes too. Her cats usually have different food needs and feeding schedules so I know how to separate cats who need different care. I don’t mind clipping nails, except one of my sister’s cats who won’t have it. I know how to transport cats and work with "difficult cats”. I produced several “Pet Care” series for HGTV, the DIY Network and TNN television shows, working with experts and veterinarians, including Dr. Craig Prior, owner of the Murphy Road Animal Hospital and a very popular vet in Nashville. He was also my personal vet for both my dogs and cats. I am retired so am available for any days and times. I also like taking photos and videos which I can share with clients so they see how their pet is doing.

I enjoy sending my clients pics of their pets during their stay. Providing secure accommodations and a fun place to stay is paramount. This is my absolute purpose, goal, and pleasure. Pet sitting is my only job. I am home all day. With your approval, your dogs will be free to enjoy inside or outside. I have a secure privacy fence and a pet door for easy access. “Emily took wonderful care of my fur baby, Sugar, while we were visiting Nashville. She has a large fenced yard where the dogs can play, and I appreciated the extra safety measures she took. Emily put Sugar’s collar on in addition to her harness in case she somehow got loose, which showed me she was thinking ahead and treating Sugar like one of her own. Before I left, Emily carefully introduced Sugar to the other dogs and made sure everyone got along and that Sugar was comfortable. That gave me tremendous peace of mind. I felt completely comfortable leaving my girl in her care, and it was obvious Sugar was well loved and well cared for while we were away. About: I've taken care of pets my entire life! Often neighbors, friends, and family have left their cats or dogs in my care whether due to work, travel, or emergencies. Being a caregiver just comes naturally to me, and I am inately intuned with the needs of the critters that come into my life. My sister and I used to work together to rescue and foster animals before she left for the military. We learned a lot, and helped hundreds of animals find furrever homes, prevented unnecessary euthanasia, and advocated fiercly for the pets in our care. I am incredibly flexible, have reliable transportation, and am prepared to brings pets into my home, or to come to yours to play! I like to work with pet parents to design stays around the needs and routines of the pets in my care whether that's exercise, medication administration, feeding schedules, vet visits, etc. I believe routines keep animals calm and feeling comfortable during stays at my home or in yours. I often reccomend calming care suggestions for pets who have paw-parents on vacations, but also offer some in my home as well as options for positive engagement activies to prevent boredom and support the redirection of destructive behaviors that can be triggered by anxious pets. When caring for pups, I often go to the dog park down the street, but I also have a nice unfenced yard behind my home and am in a cul-de-sac perfect for long walks. I am an avid runner, and enjoy taking pets on the trail close to my home for a run! I keep all dogs on leash in unfenced areas. I have separate rooms in my home, in the case of multiple pets and if they don't get along, but also for feeding multiple pets (if there are multiple in the home). I never leave pets from different homes unsupervised in the same space, and will do slow, supervised introductions to ensure any pets in my care are compatible. I do not have crates in my home, but if your pet has one, I often reccomend bringing it for longer stays as pets will often use it as a safe space in an unfamiliar area. Pets will have access to their crates, but will remain uncrated unless otherwise instructed by the pet parent (i.e. on short trips where I am out of the home, overnight, during feeding, etc.). I don't currently accept aggressive pets in my home, but may be open to visiting them in your home where they may be more comfortable!

I have two dogs of my own who live back home with my family, a 14 year old Shih Tzu and 6 year old Cocker Spaniel/Golden mix, so I have lots of firsthand experience caring for dogs. However, there are currently no pets in the home where I provide boarding, so your dog will not be sharing the home with my personal pets! I’m comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, feeding schedules, walks, medications, and giving dogs plenty of attention and affection. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I’ll treat your dog like they’re my own and keep you updated while you’re away. I’m home pretty often between work and school and usually never leave for more than about three hours at a time during the week. On the weekends, I’m home all day. I live with 2 of my lifelong friends and my boyfriend, so between the four of us someone is always here to love on your pup! I’m especially interested in boarding dogs in my home and making sure they feel comfortable and included while their family is away. I want every dog staying with me to feel safe and at home. I’ll follow your dog’s normal feeding, potty, medication, and sleeping routine as closely as possible. I’m home frequently, so they won’t be left alone for long periods of time. I also have a dog park right next to my home, which makes it easy to get outside for potty breaks, exercise, and playtime. The dog park is typically empty so I consider it my “yard” but if your dog isn’t friendly we’ll be sure to just go for walks!

About: Ever since I was little I’ve always had special bonds with dogs, more than I have with some humans. I’ve always wanted to help care for them as young as 5 years old. In more recent years, I have dog sat over night, over long weeks and just for walks and play time. My mom jokes that all dogs love me because they see a play mate in me, but I do know when to lay down the law. Currently I work remotely, and have few meetings throughout the day. I live alone - without any dogs of my own. I like to go for a walk a day myself, rain or shine, to get my blood moving. I love having human or dog friends join me! My number one concern is safety for the animals. If I’m babysitting a dog, I do like to have a discussion with my client to know the dogs needs, how they react to new people and dogs, and what I can do to best make the dog feel loved and cared for. I like to know their routines because animals do have a set routine. I believe communication and respect go a very long way for any relationship. Meeting the animals is a special moment as well as meeting their humans. I want to learn as much about the dog and human as possible before being alone with the animals. For cats, I do love cuddling or giving them their space, or even play time! Cats have their routines and needs just as much as dogs do, and I want to respect their boundaries as much as possible.

About: Since I was a child, I’ve been around many different kinds of pets. I grew up with great danes in the house, as well as multiple cats and other small rodents. Now my family owns a very happy doodle named Griffon. I grew up watching my family’s dogs as well as other dogs and cats in my neighborhood. Currently I live in Nashville with my 6 year old beagle named Emmy. I love all kinds of animals and would love to meet your furbaby! I’m currently taking care of the home full time so I can be as attentive as needed with your pet! I normally walk Emmy three times a day, making sure at least one walk is a long walk through a park so she gets a lot of good smells and mental stimulation. Since I live in an apartment downtown, I try to take my dog out as much as possible so she doesn’t feel like she’s stuck inside all day. For this reason I don’t do overnight stays at my apartment, but I would be more than willing to house sit for someone’s animal. I always make sure the pet in the home is adequately taken care of to their energy level, I used to take my families dog on runs with me if he seemed bored.
