About: Hello! I am a pre-veterinary recent college graduate and hope to apply to veterinary school in the coming years. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have gained experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, research settings, and animal shelters. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of paying close attention to detail, as every animal has a unique personality and specific needs. Additionally, I have experience administering oral, topical, and injectable medications if your pet requires them during their time with me. I prioritize maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, carefully following all care instructions, and ensuring each pet receives individualized care and attention. As a pet owner myself, I understand how much our pets mean to us and how important it is to trust someone with their care. Because of this, I make it a priority to communicate any concerns promptly and keep pet parents informed so they can feel confident that their fur babies are in good hands. I also love taking photos and videos of my own pets and will provide a mixture of picture and video updates throughout the day so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away. Outside of pet care, I enjoy going on walks, watching movies and shows, and engaging pets in enrichment activities. I especially enjoy taking dogs on walks as a way to provide both exercise and mental stimulation. For indoor enrichment, I enjoy using activities such as lick mats and puzzle toys to keep pets engaged and entertained. I am currently working part-time this summer, but I have substantial availability during evenings and midday hours. My weekend availability is more limited; however, I may be able to accommodate weekend requests with prior notice. My goal is to ensure that pets feel safe and comfortable during their time with me. Through my previous animal handling experiences, I have worked with dogs who experience anxiety when meeting new people. Because of this, I like to ease into interactions and allow pets to warm up to me at their own pace by offering treats, positive reinforcement, and plenty of socialization. I have found that treats can be especially helpful in building trust and making our time together more enjoyable and stress-free. When it comes to dog walking, I am mindful of weather conditions and take precautions to keep pets safe. On hotter days, I can bring water and a dog bowl to ensure your dog stays hydrated during walks. As mentioned in my bio, I take pet safety very seriously and will promptly communicate any medical or safety concerns I observe to pet owners so that appropriate steps can be taken to ensure their pet’s well-being.

“Emelie is a great dog sitter! This was our first time having our 2 year old dog stay with Emelie. She provided a meet and greet well ahead of his stay, and was very communicative and responsive ahead of and during the long weekend. We had to make a last minute change in our schedule, and she readily accommodated. Her set-up is ideal, with plenty of outdoor and indoor space, and a few other dogs to play with. Finally, Emelie gets dog social dynamics and is very effective at managing the set up all around.”

It was very clear that Rebecca has a good sense of how dogs are and what they need. She was careful to point out that her stairway was sometimes a challenge for dogs and that it was important to make sure Mousse would be ok navigating them... and she'd thought out where to place the crate in her apartment so it wasn't in the sun. She sent regular check ins and Mousse was clearly having a great time in all the pictures :) In addition, Rebecca was very flexible and understanding when we were stuck in traffic and needed to delay pick up by a few hours. We hope to add Rebecca to our regular rotation of Rover sitters!”
