About: Even though I don't have a cat of my own, I've spent the last several years watching my sister's, friends', and roommates' cats whenever they've been out of town or needed someone to check in on them. I've always thought cats are funny because every single one has such a different personality, and that's one of my favorite parts about getting to know them! About: I’d begged my parents for a cat for as long as I can remember. When I was 14, I learned that a family in town had a litter of kittens in need of homes. I took my pleading up a notch (or several…), and at long last my parents relented. There was exactly one kitten left; I named him Brand, after a character in my favorite book series, and he became my world. I was solely responsible for every aspect of Brand’s care––the basics, of course, like food, water, and a clean litter box, but also things like researching which brand and type of food would be the best for him, training him to scratch his scratching posts instead of the couch, and brushing him so he wouldn’t get hairballs, to name just a few. I also managed his veterinary care, from routine check-ups and vaccines to monitoring his health day-to-day. If anything ever seemed off in his behavior or litter box habits, I was the one to make the call on whether a vet visit was needed and, if so, how to proceed with his care. From the beginning, it was important to me that I learn how to communicate with Brand on his terms. I took the time to understand cat behavior and body language so I could recognize his boundaries and build trust with him. This turned out to be far more formative for me than I ever anticipated––more than 19 years later, I still catch myself subconsciously using those same quiet, trust-building cues even with other humans. While I learned the basics of cat behavior through research, I didn’t rely on that alone. Brand was an individual, and I paid close attention to his specific preferences, habits, and ways of communicating. As much as I wanted to scoop him up and smother him with affection, I made sure to move at his pace and let him decide when and with what he was comfortable. Learning to understand Brand as an individual shaped the way I approach caring for cats today. My current cat, Sushi, is completely different from Brand. Their personalities, needs, and communication styles are nothing alike, and I had to adjust my approach accordingly. Instead of assuming what would work based on past experience, I took the time to learn Sushi as her own individual. By meeting her where she was and responding to her cues, we were able to build a strong and trusting bond. Getting to know each cat as an individual and interacting with them on their terms is the foundation of how I approach pet care. Some cats are affectionate and love attention, while others prefer quiet companionship or space, and both are equally valid. My goal is always to make sure each cat feels safe, respected, and comfortable by tailoring my care to who they are—not who I expect them to be.

About: I've taken care of animals for 15+ years. Weather it was my own animal or a friend or families I was always there to give potty breaks and train them on proper care. I also train dogs and have many years of experience training dogs to do various commands such as sit, down, roll over, and crate training. This will be my full time job so I'll have plenty of time to dedicate to your furry friend. I do have a dog and cat of my own but they are great around other dogs. I live in an apartment in the middle of campus. There is unfortunately no backyard but I ensure that your dog will get many walks and potty breaks and playtime.

About: I am lucky enough to have lived every single day of my life with pets of some variety–dogs, cats, hamsters, and betta fish, primarily. Some were family pets, but most have been my own. I was seven years old when my parents allowed me my first pet of my very own (Fluffernutter, a brown-and-white banded Syrian hamster), and I still remember spending months poring over library books and researching everything I could about hamster care before bringing her home. Currently, I have one cat (Sushi, light of my life), but she’s only an only child because I don’t yet have the financial means to be the maniacal menagerist of my dreams. Meeting and loving and taking care of animals has always been the brightest part of my life; I genuinely cannot imagine a life without them, and I hope I never have to. Although this is my first time formally offering pet-sitting services, I’ve been caring for others’ pets for years, starting around age twelve. I’ve pet-sat for friends and neighbors, taking care of their dogs, cats, horses, and fish. My responsibilities have included everything from feeding and administering medication (when needed) to walks, cleanup, and making sure each pet gets plenty of attention and companionship. While most of my experience is with dogs, cats, horses, and fish, I love animals of all kinds and would be happy to care for most any critter. I spent approximately a year as a Pet Care Specialist at PetSmart, where my primary responsibilities included caring for the store’s fish and reptiles. It was a job I absolutely loved, and I still miss all of the little critters I looked after. I’ve also had a few hamsters over the years, and a close friend of mine had mice, rats, and snakes, all of which I spent a fair amount of time interacting with. Even when I don’t have experience with a specific animal, I always take the time to research their needs and follow all care instructions closely to ensure they’re well looked-after. When it comes to reptiles, I’m comfortable with general care, though I’m not able to provide feeder animals larger than insects. When it comes to dogs specifically, I have the most experience with medium and large pups and am comfortable caring for dogs of most sizes. However, I am not able to sit for any giant breeds. While I love them dearly (and have spent a great deal of time around Newfoundlands in particular), I want to ensure I can safely and confidently handle any situation that may arise. One of my favorite parts of pet-sitting is getting to know each animal as an individual. Every pet has their own personality, preferences, and quirks, and I make it a priority to learn those so I can care for them beyond just the basics. Whether it’s discovering their favorite toy, their ideal walking pace, their go-to nap spot, or how they like to be social (full cuddle mode or quiet companionship), I want your pet to feel understood and comfortable. I also have experience caring for shy and anxious pets. I understand that building trust can take time, patience, and consistency, and I’m more than happy to meet animals at their pace. Even confident pets can feel unsettled when their person is away, so creating a calm, safe, and reassuring environment is always a top priority for me. Above all, I treat every pet in my care the way I treat my own—with attentiveness, respect, and a lot of love. My goal is not just to meet your pet’s physical needs, but to make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I’m available most days of the week, with the exception of Wednesdays before 10:30am, and I’m always happy to work with your pet’s specific schedule and routine. Whether I’m house-sitting or just stopping by to check on your fur babies, my primary focus is keeping your pets’ routine as consistent as possible to help reduce stress. I follow all care instructions closely, monitor pets for any changes in behavior or health, and ensure their environment remains clean and safe. I’m always conscious and respectful of your home, treating it with the same care and consideration I would my own, and ensuring it’s securely locked when I come and go.
About: I’ve had dogs, cats, and all kinds of farm animals my entire life as I grew up on a cattle ranch in southern Oregon. Two of my dogs and one of my cats had complex medical needs, so I have additional experience giving oral medication to cats and dogs, and caring for dogs during seizures. I love animals and am committed to making sure they get enough exercise and play time. I am a very calm person and animals typically respond to that by mirroring my energy—I find animals are drawn to be because I don’t yell, get overly excited, or move suddenly. I know how to respond to animals when they are nervous about meeting new people and have experience dealing with dogs that have mild to moderate behavioral issues. I’m waiting for my results from taking the bar, so I’m free all day, every day until the end of September. I can make pretty much any schedule work for me! I have a cat who would be very nervous about brining other pets into the house, so I can’t have pets in my own home. However, I am happy and excited to care for pets in your home! Cats need 1-2 hours of play time per day, and I make sure to provide that to my cat, and would make sure your cat got that, too. I’d love for you to share your cat’s typical active hours (for instance, my cat is high energy between 9-11am, and 4-5pm) so that I can be around during that time. :) Regarding dogs, I know exercise needs vary greatly, but I love the outdoors and would be happy to drive your dog to parks or hiking trails to make sure they get their exercise in! About: Hi! I'm a dependable and compassionate pet lover who truly enjoys caring for animals. I have experience caring for both small and large dogs, including a Husky/Pit Bull mix, so I'm comfortable with energetic, strong breeds as well as smaller companions. I work part time Wed-Friday to 4 PM, otherwise I’m available! I have a small house with a Flemish Giant breed bunny named Jessie! She is in a separate caged area, safe and secure. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I carefully follow all feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions (if needed), and any special care requests you provide. I'm experienced with both small and large dogs, highly experienced with cats, and I also care for rabbits, so I understand that every animal has unique needs. I'll treat your home with respect, keep you updated with photos and messages, and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and stress-free while you're away.
About: I have been pet sitting since I was a freshman in college! Long and short periods of times! I have 3 dogs of my own so taking care of pets is just a daily part of my day! I am currently working part time so I am available walk, do drop ins, or stay at your place with your pets! I am usually working between 7am-12pm so early mornings, afternoons, and evenings are what give me flexibility to care your dogs! When staying at others homes the dogs safety in my priority, following the list of asks, and making sure the safety of the pet and home is my first priority

About: I have a cocker spaniel back home, whom I walked daily. During the winter I walked my neighbors dog 5 times a week for 45 minutes after school. I work from home managing social media for a local bakery in Portland, I make my own schedule. I also have practice from 6:25-8:25 daily. My dog used to bark at other dogs on walks, using a reward system I’ve trained her to stop and wait quietly when dogs pass.
