About: I’ve adored all animals since I was a child, though both of my parents were allergic so the neighborhood pets were my loves…. There were two in particular I have strong memories of: a little terrier dog who would escape his yard weekly to run to find my house. We’d play in my yard until his pet parent came to collect him. And later, an orange cat who learned my schedule and would sit, waiting, outside our side door for me to finish my after-school-snack and come outside to be with her. I loved that cat and never knew where she came from. Once she stopped arriving at my door, that was my first true heartbreak… I’ve been a pet parent now for over 25 years… my very first fur babies of my own were two rescue kittens, Cosette and Bijou. Had I not been limited by my apartment landlord in Seattle I likely would have rescued many more… Later, was an Indian street dog I adopted while living and traveling in India in my 20s. I moved him to Nepal with me 3 years later, and eventually to the US when I returned. He lived to be 16 and was the best travel companion ever ❤️ We cared for him through long-term kidney failure and I would have slept on the floor with him another 9 months if it meant a longer, healthier life. It was hard to say goodbye and I think of him often. Our current pet family includes one rescue cat who is 15 but you’d never know it to look at her. One parking lot kitty who I found hiding in the bushes between a drive through and a car wash about two years ago. (Thank you, Cat Distribution System!) and, two very small, very silly yorkie/maltese mix dogs. So, all the experiences and learned skills that come along with being a pet parent are ingrained. I’m also parent to one human - now 18 years old so I like to think we all got this far with some common sense 😊

About: I have been responsible for dogs ever since I was 10. I have raised four different dogs from when they were puppies to elderly. I can speak their language and an act as an expert dog body language interpreter. I am gentle enough to handle small dogs and strong enough to handle 100+ lbs ones, as well. I recently took early retirement and have flexibility to take care of your pets, whenever needed, on walks, play dates, or overnight stays at my house with my dog. I love dogs! I grew up with Old English Sheepdogs and have had two as an adult. I'm a believer in routine and consistency. About: I love animals and currently have one 15 lb pit terrier mix and an American short hair cat. My family is easy going on pet rules and treat animals as members of the family (no feeding from the table). We live in a pet friendly community with good lighting and many dog potty break stops and stations. Our house is 2 stories with space to put a crate in a secluded place for dogs who need quiet time. On weekends I would love to take them to dog parks (if they are comfortable with that) or on hikes (if they are people friendly). Plus I love to take and send photos! My schedule is very open. About: I’ve worked with dogs since I was a child. I’ve been exposed to large dog breeds (ex. Rottweilers & German Shepherds) as well as small dog breeds (ex. corgis & dachshund's). I am a certified dog trainer, with 9 years experience and can work in some Basic Obedience work with your dog during their stay or we can talk about some behavior modification and steps to move forward for private lessons. I currently work part time and have plenty of time and energy to work with and take care of your pup. I work with my own dogs twice a day but those sessions are very flexible. I don’t currently have a fully fenced in yard, but I have access to 5 private acres I can walk your pup on a long line. I utilize martingale collars to prevent any mishaps or escaping. I utilize positive reinforcement to connect and have clear communication with each dog I interact with.
