She was very polite and her love of animals shined through from the first meeting and throughout her time with our pets. She took great care of our 3 kitties while we were gone for a week, fed our betta fish, and watered our leopard geckos for us. About: If you're a dog lover, you should have dogs, right? I've had dogs all my life and we currently have two small well-behaved dogs, Daisy and Buddy, both under 20 lbs. My 23-year-old son Sam is a co-sitter (I'm primary) and your doggie will receive all the love it can handle! Sam used to volunteer as a dog walker at the Maui Humane Society when we lived on Maui and we spent Saturdays at the pet-a-puppy adoption gathering at the Maui Mall. Animals seem to know we're safe and loving and tend to come to us when they need help. We've rescued a duckling, a Mynah bird, a baby squirrel, a lost kitten, and two adult dogs, caring for them in our homes until appropriately placed or returned to their owners. We also took part in a humpback whale rescue when visiting Maui Feb 2023. I work from home as an instructional designer; my son is an student in animation and is also at home and absolutely adores every animal he ever met. Two responsible adults are here at all times, so this makes it easy to give your fur baby the attention it deserves. Our dogs are indoor dogs and have free roam of our house. We have a large, fenced, dog-friendly backyard for exercise. Our two small friendly dogs can show your dog the ropes. We recommend a visit prior to placement so they can all get acquainted.
About: I've taken care of dogs all my life since childhood. I have provided them with love and care medical care and one on one time during walks, traveling to different dog parks, and beach trips! Dogs provide me with emotional support and assists me with outside activities to keep me going. Every few hours I am caring for dogs and they're helping me. We are a team. About: Due to issues with marking, I will only sit female dogs. I have two small rescue dogs of my own - both are under 15 pounds and gentle and playful with one another. About: I have helped train and take care of many dogs old dogs that have been on hospice and dogs that are a couple months old. I help with Guide Dogs for the Blind and help train guide dog puppies before they are one. We have a Guide Dog puppy in our care right now so I wake up feed him, potty him and leave for school. Come home potty him sometimes take time to train and walk him and play. I snuggle with my cat and he falls asleep right away in my lap after doing his biscuits. When ever our dogs are in the yard I even though we have a fence make sure they are safe and have gone to the bathroom. Talking and playing with the dogs to make sure they know I am a safe person. Same with cats they can be timid so not rushing to pet or be to close to their safe space. Let them tell me what they need/want.

About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
