My kids have had goats, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, and ducks, which are all fun to play with, and I would be glad to care for your less-typical pets, if needed. I have even cared for lizards and snakes. I am a teacher, so have loads of time available in the summer. During the school year, I am available most weekends and after 4 on weekdays. I always keep dogs on leash when walking them...you never know when a squirrel or other dog will come by or how they will react.

When a couple of years ago we lost our senior family dog, I started volunteering with a local rescue and have fostered 20+ puppies over the past few years. About: I grew up with 3 dogs (2 rhodesian ridgebacks, and one mutt). When my family travels, I often house & pet sit the dog and cats. I have experience walking dogs of many sizes, and know basic commands. I am also comfortable with cats, as I grew up with them as well. I work from my home, so I have flexibility to walk around my daily meeting schedule. I truly miss having a dog of my own, but have a tricky travel schedule that does not allow it now :( I usually know my meeting schedule a few days in advance, and in general it is pretty regular.
