About: I used to think I was a dog person—until one day my roommate got a kitten. And since then had subsequent roommates with cats that I cared for as if they were my own. About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

About: Hello! I’m a professional writer who works from home and often watches my neighbors’ dogs just because I think it’s fun. I joined Rover to help others who might need last-minute dog sitting. My own golden retriever Emmett chills with me all day and we go for walks around the block at lunchtime and we’d love for your friend to join us! I host one dog at a time (in addition to Emmett). I’ve been around dogs and pets of all kinds my whole life and am happy to just spend some quality time feeding, patting, walking or running with a good pooch. I’m super comfortable with all breeds, just maybe not strong enough to handle anyone over 100 pounds unless they’re super well trained. I’ve seen Emmett and my previous dogs, Henry and Teddy, through all kinds of ear infections, hot spots, and geriatric arthritis treatments and am really good at finding ticks! My brother has Emmett’s brother, Gary, so you’ll see the two of them in a few pics together. I’m a remote freelance writer so my schedule is very flexible. I walk Emmett every day at least three times a day so it’s really easy to add an additional dog to the mix. I’m home all day so we all hang. Our yard is unfortunately not fenced but because I spend a lot of time at my computer I balance that with a lot of midday dog walks. When your pet stays here it’s very chill; as long as your dog gets along with Emmett they’ll have full range of the house and can snooze wherever and then we’ll go walk about around the block a few times, which nets out to be about a mile.

About: Never have I been without a pet. Life is nothing without the love and companionship of a pet. I am a lover of all animals, but dogs hold my heart. I do work full time at a veterinary office as a care coordinator. I am looking to offer weekend care, and may, possibly expand hours/days in the future. I live on a 1.5 acre. I have a small, fenced in yard 10 x 30. Am able to leash walk on the property, and live on a back road which is perfect for leash walking.

I'm used to structuring my day with animals in mind, especially my own cats and hermit crabs. Being attentive to animals' behaviors and needs is second nature to me, and I always make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and consistency throughout the day. When you leave your pet in my care, you're not just hiring someone to feed or walk them - you're trusting me with a member of your family. I take that responsibility seriously. Creating a safe, calm, and loving environment is at the heart of everything I do. I closely follow your pet's routines, dietary needs, and any medical requirements to make sure they stay happy and healthy. Im experienced in handling a wide range or animals - including those with special needs, and I always keep a close eye on behaviot and well-being When I visit your home for your pet, I strive to create a low-stress environment where they feel safe, relaxed, and loved. From cozy resting spots to familiar routines and gentle handling, I make sure your pet feels right at home with me.
About: I have always had a special connection with dogs. I grew up with dogs and treated them like part of the family. I have been primarily working as a pet nanny for 5 years for someone who traveled to Europe on a monthly basis. They are staying in Europe indefinitely so I am looking to add some new clients. I can offer your dogs fun playtime and a sense of stability by caring for them in their own environment. I am also available for walks and drop in visits. I send pictures and updates daily. Your best friend will be spoiled and pampered with me. I have a very flexible schedule with plenty of availability as this is my main job. I can also do long term sitting up to 6 weeks if necessary. I am responsible and professional and respectful in your home. Besides caring for your pets, I am happy to pick up mail and water plants.

About: I grew up with all different types of animals my whole life. I have been a dog mom for 13 years. I am great at walking dogs who have aggression towards other dogs, I know how to find a calm route to take and distract them before conflict arises! I recently lost my 90 lb alapaha blue blood bulldog mix to a terminal illness and am looking forward to spending time with other people's dogs. I am a self employed artist, volunteer, and executive director of a free store that I physically staff on Saturdays, so I have a very flexible schedule. I will care for pets in your home with so much attentiveness and love! Just give me a set of instructions and I am happy to hang out :)
