Astrid is usually quite anxious when she’s first introduced to a new person and a new environment, but she appeared to be more at ease much quicker with Kate at her house than she typically is. Kate sent us regular pictures and updates, was very flexible about our schedule for pickup and drop-off, prompt and easy to communicate with, and we didn’t worry about Astrid at all. We will certainly reach out to Kate again when planning future boarding accommodations for our sweet Astrid.”

About: I grew up in a home that always had multiple animals. Whether it was cats, dogs, fish, snakes and plenty more I was always taking care of different animals. Now as I’ve grown older the love for animals has not stopped. Dogs are really the best companions and can understand you more than some humans. The love I have for animals is truly the same love I have for family members. I’ll always make sure they are being well taken care of, fed, running freely or on walks, playing and always loved! Your dog will be treated like my own! My work schedule varies quite a bit, I may need to go into work sometimes & in that case my mother is typically home anyway. About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

About: I've taken care of dogs since the age of five, and have worked as a dog caretaker since I was twenty on a casual basis. I have been a dog momma for the last sixteen years to a rescued pit and lab gal who taught me deep compassion, and intuned patience with animals. About: Hello! My partner and I have dog-sat for friends many times, but the request doesn’t come frequently enough! We’re happy to host your pet and treat it as if it were our own. We work nearby our apartment and can walk your dog during the day. We are fine with pets on our furniture and in our bed, but will respect any training you have in place. We’ll joyfully take your pet on long walks and adhere to feeding schedules. I have trained my family dogs in the past, and are happy to teach your pup a few new tricks! We ask for well-behaved, house-trained dogs OR crate-trained provided you have a crate. We’ll adore your pet completely while you’re away with all the attention you would provide to be sure it doesn’t get too lonely without you! “This was my first time using Rover and I was so happy I chose Gabriel. My dog Jack is a 17 year old who is blind, hard of hearing and frail. Gabriel’s love for dogs was evident by the excellent care he gave Jack. The daily pictures he sent of Jack were heartwarming and allowed me to feel relaxed during my vacation. Gabriel will definitely be my choice the next time I need to board Jack.”
“Kate has a very warm demeanor and my first impression when I brought our dog Astrid over to her house for a meet and greet before boarding, was that she would care for our dog as if she were her own. Astrid is usually quite anxious when she’s first introduced to a new person and a new environment, but she appeared to be more at ease much quicker with Kate at her house than she typically is. Kate sent us regular pictures and updates, was very flexible about our schedule for pickup and drop-off, prompt and easy to communicate with, and we didn’t worry about Astrid at all. We will certainly reach out to Kate again when planning future boarding accommodations for our sweet Astrid.”
