“As all true dog lovers know, a dog is not just a pet, it is a member of the family. As such, I am very cautious about where and who I leave my dog with. As we had never had to leave our Violet with anyone, my wife and I were very worried when we had to leave our girl for almost 2 weeks. We did not feel comfortable boarding her at a kennel as we didn’t think she would respond well to that environment. So, we went to Rover to see if we could find someone we thought would be a good fit for our Violet. After reading multiple write ups on various Rover sitters, we found Erika who we thought looked like a good fit and was close to our home. At our meet and greet with Erika, my wife and I had perfect peace as we met with Erika and saw the home where Violet would be staying. Erika had a warm and inviting home, a fenced in backyard, and the perfect playmate, ( her dog Huxley) for our girl Violet. My wife and I decided immediately that this home and sitter would be the perfect fit for Violet. We were not disappointed! Erika loved our Violet as much as she loved her own dog and showered her with love and affection. She sent us daily pictures and videos of Violet and her dog playing, napping, and just having a wonderful time. She was having so much fun. We jokingly, worried that Violet wouldn’t want to come home with us after spending time with Erika. Ha Ha. In summary, any dog would be lucky to spend time with Erika. She is an amazing person and we were so happy we found her. This app only let me put in a rating of 5 stars, but if I could have, I would have put in 10 or more stars in rating her performance. We would definitely use Erika again in the future, if and when we needed to board our Violet. My only worry is that after reading my review of Erika, everyone will want to board with her and I won’t be able to have my Violet stay with her when I next need her. Ha ha.”

About: I have been able to take care of animals (dogs and cats) since age 5 as I had pets throughout my whole life. I have also briefly owned horses building the skillset of hygiene care for larger animals. I absolutely love dogs. I have had experience with small dogs all the way up to English Mastiff and Ridgeback sizes. I have been a helpful pet sitter for many family members and some friends. I absolutely love animals and plan to incorporate them into my therapeutic process with clients in the future. Please send them my way and I will give them all the love and empathy while you're away and as needed! I am a graduate student with an internship which entails the need for a daily routine. I am more flexible for weekends and holidays, and I am also willing to make other days work given enough time notice in advance. I love to be outside year-round, especially fall and winter, so I will be active with animals in snow/cold or sunshine which means walks and playing! I have three cats who have everything they need including love and grooming! I have a three-legged cat who requires more care for hygiene and grooming, so he gets lion cuts every so often. All of my cats get treats and are spoiled with love. I am flexible and willing to work around whatever is needed for safety and the environment. I would prefer to do house visits and drop-ins to feed/let outside, etc. I would need to be provided equipment like leashes, crates, food bowls, food, etc. I do not want to disrupt your pet's routine or familiarity of their own materials.

She was so welcoming and understanding of my not completely house trained pup, and she's almost like a trainer as well as sitter. She's worked on crate training and commands with my pup, even letting me borrow things to help at home. Five other sitters denied my request to watch a puppy, but Courtney is the ultimate dog lover, and honestly has more patience than anyone I've ever met. My only concern is that my pup loves being at her house maybe more than mine, since Courtney's dogs are her new best friends! About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
About: Since our 1st family dog as a child our house has always been filled with furry paws. I have experience with dogs of all sizes from small to large. I am a childcare provider who is working part time. I have lots of free time during the day to care for your special furry friend. I work part time so have lots of free time to get out and go for walks during the day in all types of weather. We will enjoy walks in the neighborhood, or sometimes go on the trails and hike or even beach walks. If you have more then 1 dog that's not a problem at all.

A 3.5 year old Daniff (Great Dane/English mastiff mix) named Aspen and three domestic shorthair kitties, varying in color (an orange included), named Chug, Nova and Wee. Despite the 2 dogs, 3 cats and family I still have time to spare throughout the days; especially during the school year. I’ve been walking dogs for friends and associates for about a year and I’ve really enjoyed the freedom and relations I’ve found along the way. I have experience with dogs of all ages/sizes. From 40lb corgis to 150lb mastiffs, your pup is safe with me and will likely find a new best friend. I would love the opportunity to walk your dog or drop in for a visit/play date! **I do have a 6 year old that comes with me during the summer so I am limited to child friendly dogs during that time. My schedule is almost always open and flexible aside from not being available on weekends. I am currently unavailable on Tues, Thurs and Fri (from 11AM-12PM) for a preexisting client. Because I have 5 pets of my own, I am unable to offer services from my home. With that being said, respect is first and foremost. Your house, your pets, your rules. I always like establishing the blueprint for what my visits will look like. I, of course, am trying to cater to your pet and understand they all have different needs; some are anxious, food/treat motivated, some need lots of exercise. I assure you, no pet is too big or small for me.

I also have a small fenced grass section outside of my house! In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and maintain their dog’s normal routine to help them feel as comfortable as possible. I’m attentive to behavior and body language, and I’ll adjust care based on what each dog needs—whether that’s more playtime, exercise, or just a calm presence. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for.
About: Over the years, I have owned 11 cats and 4 dogs, not to mention hamsters, guinea pigs and birds. I have always loved animals, and have a gentle approach to care as I think often our pets are scared enough when their owners need to be away. I enjoy trying to ease their fears or stressors, and getting their licks and purrs in return. I am recently retired and generally have a flexible schedule, depending on whether I'm traveling or not. Usually I'm able to work with your schedule. I believe in play and exercise as a way to ease the stress of owners being gone. But of course I listen to my clients and maintain whatever routine they think works for their pet. They know best. With my own dog, we walk twice a day and play occasional games in between (but she is an older chihuahua mix and mostly wants to sit by my side and take naps!). I lost my latest cat last year, but my daughter has a two year old kitty who LOVES to jump, run and play and it's so fun to see what he can get into!
