About: My background in cat care began in The League for Animal Protection of Huntington, NY in 2007. I volunteered there as an animal care associate, working with a variety of kittens and cats from many different walks of life. All of the cats were rescues, and so special care needed to be provided, with socialization, feeding, and even medication distribution. In January of 2015 I had my first two-month long house- and cat-sitting job. After that, I entered the full-time workforce and adopted my first cat and love of my life Avery. Avery has since passed, but my home is now occupied by his feline brothers (in spirit): Handsome and Bubbles. They bring me more joy than I could ever imagine! About: I've always had a special connection with dogs. Ever since primary school, I volunteered to walk all my neighbors' dogs and would stay to play with them for hours—tug-of-war and frisbee were our favorites. I've walked dogs of all sizes, sometimes up to three at a time. Getting my own puppy was the best thing in the world for me, and I naturally have endless patience for animals. Throughout college, I walked and sat for my piano professor's dog for years—around the neighborhood, and I also drove him to dog parks and beaches. On top of that, I've volunteered at an animal shelter, cleaning dog and cat rooms and socializing with the animals. I currently can't have a dog of my own because I fly in and out for work. That's why I'm doing this part-time — it's never an assembly line for me. Each dog gets my full, individual attention, and I truly make friends with every one of them. I'm a sound designer and composer working on contract-based stage productions, which gives me a flexible schedule. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine — I walk dogs at least three times a day, feed them as many times as requested, and make sure they get plenty of playtime outside of my work hours. Since I'm not working a rigid 9-to-5, I can easily adjust my day around each dog's needs, whether that means extra cuddles, a longer walk, or a spontaneous trip to the dog park.
