About: Hello! I’m a professional writer who works from home and often watches my neighbors’ dogs just because I think it’s fun. I joined Rover to help others who might need last-minute dog sitting. My own golden retriever Emmett chills with me all day and we go for walks around the block at lunchtime and we’d love for your friend to join us! I host one dog at a time (in addition to Emmett). I’ve been around dogs and pets of all kinds my whole life and am happy to just spend some quality time feeding, patting, walking or running with a good pooch. I’m super comfortable with all breeds, just maybe not strong enough to handle anyone over 100 pounds unless they’re super well trained. I’ve seen Emmett and my previous dogs, Henry and Teddy, through all kinds of ear infections, hot spots, and geriatric arthritis treatments and am really good at finding ticks! My brother has Emmett’s brother, Gary, so you’ll see the two of them in a few pics together. I’m a remote freelance writer so my schedule is very flexible. I walk Emmett every day at least three times a day so it’s really easy to add an additional dog to the mix. I’m home all day so we all hang. Our yard is unfortunately not fenced but because I spend a lot of time at my computer I balance that with a lot of midday dog walks. When your pet stays here it’s very chill; as long as your dog gets along with Emmett they’ll have full range of the house and can snooze wherever and then we’ll go walk about around the block a few times, which nets out to be about a mile.
About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

About: My own dogs are always the #1 teacher. They show me how to best care for them - with food, play, training, medications, travel, sleepless days and nights when they've been ill, and giving them all them comfort I can. I've volunteered at dog shelters, spent hours walking dogs in all kinds of weather, and offered comfort to friends who've had to say goodbye to their best fur friends. Aside from numerous family pets, I've had my pittie for about 5 years (does not join me on bookings) and we've been through just about every major medical scenario under the sun. Also experienced in sitting high-energy dogs, gaggles of small pups, and the occasional cat. I don't believe in leaving pets alone for long periods and every day should have a little adventure! I'm currently on a break from my career, my wife is WFH and able to watch our pittie while I'm away. Please let me know if your pet(s) cannot be left alone for more than 2-3 hours, otherwise you'll know in advance if anything would take me away for longer than this. Admittedly, I'm a bit of a helicopter parent. I cook all my dog's food, track his steps and sleep, and make sure his physical and social needs are always met. Both of my cats were rescued by me, and I’ve always had a natural connection with animals. They’re drawn to me, and I love giving them the same trust and affection they show me. I grew up with big dogs, including two pit bulls and a boxer, so I’m confident and comfortable handling larger breeds. Over the years, I’ve potty trained dogs, taught tricks, and cared for pets with all kinds of temperaments. My experience goes beyond cats and dogs—I’ve also cared for frogs, snakes, turtles, and even had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with elephants in Thailand. My love for animals runs so deep that I’ve been vegan for over a decade. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s truly part of who I am. The only exception is occasional weekend evenings after 5 PM, when I work at The Colony in Woodstock. Other than that, I’m always here for you and your pets! I live in a spacious three-bedroom, 2 story home with a large open yard, perfect for pets to play and explore. Your furry friend will have plenty of room to stretch, run, and enjoy the outdoors while getting all the exercise and fresh air they need to stay happy and healthy.

About: I have been house sitting for about 10 years and have cared for all types of dogs and cats. I love bonding with animals and taking them for walks! Currently I work a 9-5 but am free for walks/drop-in visits on my days off and anytime after 5. She reduces anxieties naturally by listening carefully and observing astutely. Hygge had never been away or 'boarded' for pet sitting prior to my experience with Andrea. At all times she was communicative, caring and purposeful in her interactions with Hygge, who probably worried about being in a new home away from home for a few days on many levels. My transportation plans were delayed due to a severe storm that prevented my scheduled pick up, and Andrea was patient, reasonable and loving during my own stress about being stuck in NYC beyond my control for the pick up of my dog after traveling for a few days. She worked with me every step of the way, and the boarding experience was a total success even with transportation issues. Hygge returned home happy, healthy, well-nourished and satisfied with renewed confidence in his ability to work with another lovely family in our sweet community in a spirit of trust and sucess. All in all, I would recommend Andrea to work with anyone who has pets they love and want to broaden the scope of their pet's world by allowing Andrea to work with them and care for them. About: I grew up in a cat household and became a dog mom as soon as I left home. I absolutely love all of the cats and dogs I’ve been fortunate enough to meet in this life. I raised my pup, Grumble, from 3 weeks old until she left this world at 11 years old. I am very familiar with the range of needs a dog will have throughout life, from teething to play to mobility assistance. I'm fully available in the winter as my regular job (gardening) is seasonal and won't be picking up again until later in the spring time. I can be flexible to your pets needs and more than happy to follow any directions you provide me with for their optimal care and contentment.
