I provide very personalized care and only board one guest dog at a time, or two dogs from the same family. There are no children or other pets in my home, so your dog gets plenty of individual attention in a calm home environment. Your dog isn't just staying at my house, they become part of my everyday life while they're with me. At home, dogs are welcome to make themselves comfortable. They can sleep in my bed, curl up on the couch, or choose a therapeutic dog bed if they prefer their own quiet space. For food motivated dogs, I have five different dog puzzles and enjoy playing "find the treats" and other enrichment games. We also have a fenced yard for supervised play and relaxing outside. Most days include 3–4 walks, ranging from a quick 10-minute potty walk to a 30–45 minute adventure. Depending on what your dog enjoys, we may explore Peekskill's riverfront parks, walk around the neighborhood, or head to nearby wooded trails. For dogs who love water, swimming adventures may also be an option. Because I like having my guest dogs with me, they are rarely left home alone. Some dogs are happiest staying in their familiar environment, and I also offer overnight house sitting. With standard house sitting, your dog should be comfortable being alone for approximately 6½ hours while I work my part-time morning shift at a dog daycare in Putnam Valley (8:00 AM–1:30 PM, 4 days a week, plus travel time). If your dog needs someone present most of the day and cannot comfortably be left for more than about two hours, I may still be able to accommodate them with extended-care house sitting at $185 per night. I require a meet-and-greet before accepting a new boarding or house-sitting client so we can make sure your dog and I are a great match. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work part-time at a dog daycare and also work from home as a self-employed bookkeeper and real estate agent. My schedule is flexible, and I can choose which days I work at the daycare, allowing me to plan around the dogs in my care. My husband also works from home, so boarding dogs are rarely left home alone. This flexibility allows me to provide plenty of companionship, frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and individual attention throughout their stay. About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a child. I owned two Miniature Pinschers growing up and I adopted one Australian Shepherd mix that has special needs as an adult. I trained all of my dogs from the time they were puppies until they passed away as seniors. I also volunteered at the Humane Society of Westchester. I've always enjoyed being around animals since I was young and animals tend to feel the same way about me. Animals who are usually timid around strangers are comfortable around me right away and they seem to trust me right away. I feel like connecting with animals (dogs specifically) is a gift that I have. Being a sitter is a great way for me to use that gift in everyday life. New clients get a free 2027 desk calendar that has photos of my clients and my dog as well (check my photos for a preview). I'm able to adapt to the normal routine of the pets that I'm sitting in order to make the process as smooth as possible. I don't have a lot of room in my studio apartment so I'm only able to watch either 1-2 small dogs or one medium sized dog. Large dogs are too big for my apartment. If I'm at a client's home, I'll change my schedule to meet the needs of the pet. I believe all animals are unique and all have different needs in order to thrive in the environment that they're in. I'm willing to meet those needs by building my schedule around the animals that I'm sitting.

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with cats, but most of my family had dogs, so I have always been around them. This love for animals also got me into the veterinary field, which I have 6 years experience in. I have years of experience walking, handling, and playing with dogs and now have the experience to give oral medications or injections if needed. I currently don’t have any dogs, but I do have 2 cats. During my day I always make sure I wake up early enough to feed them and clean the litter box. After coming home from work, I feed them dinner and spend some time brushing and playing with them. I then clean the litter box before going to bed and repeat the next day. In my home, I have installed screen doors on the entry doors to prevent my cats from escaping but so they also can see the outside activity. I have socket covers to prevent them from playing in it and make sure to cover all wires so they don’t think they are toys.

It is the first time that I accessed the Rover page and when I saw Julia's profile I was very interested, then my family and I visited her and we were calm knowing that our dog was going to be with her for more than a month. Julia took care of our Corgi in her home for 40 days and it was the best experience for both our dog and us. Julia regularly sent us photos and kept us up to date with the news of our pet during that time when we had to leave her with her. “First time boarding with Randi and it was an incredibly smooth experience. Randi is extremely flexible and was a life saver for when we were away on a multi city driving trip. We were watching the weather in case we needed to abandon our plans and come back home mid trip. Randi was extremely flexible and accommodating and I am so grateful for that. Our dog is a picky eater and is also on some tricky meds…and Randi kept in touch with regular updates. She persevered with attempts to get her to eat both food and meds, until our dog did finally start to eat! Our dog came home happy and healthy! We will definitely board with Randi again!”

Jeff is so kind and patient - I could see from the photos that my pup was feeling calm and loved. PIckup/drop off was a breeze, there is a lovely and large backyard and I just felt so happy knowing that there was always someone there with the dogs, treating them with gentleness and prioritizing their safety.
