About: I’m a small-breed dog mom to two friendly Shih Tzus. I’ve trained both of them from puppyhood, so I’m experienced in teaching calm behavior, basic obedience, and creating a well-structured environment for small dogs. “Melissa was amazing. My wife and I were in Tahoe for the weekend and desperately needed a little break from our two dogs, Gracie and Miley. They can get overstimulated in new places, and honestly, so could we. With my wife currently pregnant, we could only do so much physically, and we were feeling pretty overwhelmed and anxious trying to balance everything while still making sure the girls were happy and cared for. We felt bad because they’re dogs — they need adventure, stimulation, and interaction — but we also knew we were reaching our limit and needed help. Thankfully, we found Melissa on Rover. Knowing the girls were in safe and loving hands allowed my wife and I to finally relax, go on a short hike together, spend quality time with each other, and actually enjoy one of our last days in Tahoe without constantly worrying or feeling overstimulated ourselves. I am a self-employed artist and director of a small nonprofit, which gives me an incredibly flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. Much of my work involves painting landscapes—capturing the beautiful mountains, lakes, and high-desert light of the Reno/Tahoe area. Because my art keeps me outdoors, I am always ready to take dogs along for fresh-air strolls, sniffing adventures, and outdoor playtime. When I am working from my laptop or sketching, pets in my care receive relaxed companionship, lots of attention, and plenty of snuggles. My flexible routine allows me to easily accommodate weekday or weekend care, house sitting, and extended stays. Your pet will seamlessly become a part of my creative, peaceful day! Since I am currently in the Reno/Tahoe area for art research, I'll mainly be focusing on House Sitting (in the client's home), Dog Walking, or Drop-In Visits rather than hosting pets at my residence (however, some exceptions can be made). Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my absolute priorities. Whether I am house-sitting in your home or visiting for walks, I treat your home with the utmost respect and your pet like family. Safety Outdoors: Because the Reno/Tahoe area has beautiful wildlife (like deer, coyotes, and bears), I keep all dogs securely on-leash during our walks unless we are in a designated, securely fenced dog park and you have explicitly approved off-leash time. I am also highly mindful of the pavement temperature and hydration during warm high-desert days. A Familiar, Relaxing Atmosphere: Inside your home, I strive to keep your pet’s environment calm, positive, and consistent. I love providing relaxed companionship—whether I'm sketching nearby or enjoying quiet cuddle time. Following Their Routine: I strictly follow your pet's established routine, including precise feeding schedules, favorite walking routes, and any necessary medication tracking. If your pet uses a crate, playpen, or has specific house rules, I will mirror them exactly. You can rest easy knowing your home is secure, and your fur baby is receiving dedicated, loving, and highly attentive care while you're away!

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and each one has meant the world to me. I promise to give that same love and care to your pets! I work from home, so I am pretty available and flexible. I’m happy to do daily walks and open to a repeating schedule, or just a one time event! I am very easy going when house sitting.
