“I thought Maellen was terrific. A few days before our cruise, Lili, our corgi had to be fitted with "the cone of shame" for a skin condition. I contacted Maellen to see if this would create a problem and offered to find another sitter but Maellen said it would be fine. She treated the skin condition twice a day took excellent care of Lili for the 7 day cruise. Lili obviously had a great time and was in excellent condition. She did not seem to be in a big hurry to leave so I know she liked it. THANK YOU, MAELLEN.”

About: I mostly have experience with medium to larger dogs. I love going on walks so I will take pets along for the journey. I grew up with bulldogs and I’ve personally owned German Shepards and Huskies. I am currently in between jobs and preparing for a certification test for signed language interpreting. I have plenty of free time for pets and love to get out and about like going for walks, hikes and enjoying the sun. I have a private small patio with many dogs parks in my apartment complex. “I met Elaine and her doggies about a year ago. My dogs finally stayed at her house for four nights last month, and then for one day last week. About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.

About: I have past experience in administering medicine including insulin and pills, as well as cleaning litter boxes, picking up dog poop, and feeding bearded dragons. I'm a college student working at a restaurant, but I am available throughout the day between school and work, and at nights. Overall pet sitting fits into my schedule just as well as any average person. I have a cat in my home who is vaccinated and well cared for, so if a pet is coming to my home it must be OK around cats, my cat is also used to dogs and other animals, although I would prefer to watch animals at their house. I care for them by feeding them according to their schedule, always providing fresh water, and taking them on any necessary walks, or runs, and of course cleaning up the poop or puke that occurs.

About: A little about me: I’ve had a dog by my side every day since I was six years old — dogs are an integral part of my life, not just something I do on the side. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs of every size, age, and temperament, from tiny lap dogs to a 90-pound Labrador, and from bouncy puppies to dogs in their older years. Experience: My deepest experience is with senior and special-needs dogs. My Labrador had a series of health challenges, including three separate leg surgeries. I nursed him through every recovery, which meant walking him with a support sling until he was back on his feet. When he was later diagnosed with cancer, I cared for him through hospice at home — giving his daily medications and keeping him comfortable and loved right to the end. So if your older dog needs medication, a little mobility help, or just extra patience and gentleness, that’s something I genuinely know how to do. I’m just as comfortable with high-energy dogs. That same Labrador was a handful in his younger years, so I know what it takes to keep a strong, active dog happy and well-exercised. I also love puppies and understand the patience and consistency they need. I’m happy to walk more than one dog at a time, and I have experience with leash-reactive dogs — I know how to keep walks calm, controlled, and low-stress for a dog who needs a little extra management. Right now I share my home with two girls — a 15-year-old Chihuahua mix and a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier — so both ends of the age spectrum are part of my daily routine. Before them I’ve cared for several terriers and a Border Collie mix, among others. I walk my own dogs every single day and I’ll keep yours on a good routine too. I keep that same consistency and attention for any dog in my care — sticking to your dog's normal feeding, walking, medication, and potty routine so their world stays steady while you're away. When I care for your dog in your home, safety comes first. I keep all doors and gates closed and latched, and I'm constantly aware of where your dog is — especially any time I'm heading in or out, so there's no chance of an escape. I follow whatever house rules and routines you set. I also treat your home with the same respect I give my own. When I dog-sat for family and friends, I kept their house tidy, watered their plants, and brought in mail while they were away. I will leave your home just as you left it, keep you updated with photos while you're gone, and communicate quickly about anything that comes up. My goal is for you to come home to a happy, well-cared-for dog and a house in good order.
About: I currently work as an animal protection officer for the City of Albuquerque animal welfare department. I'm can handle energetic pets with high physical activity needs. I have 2+years experience as a shelter volunteer and 1 year experience as doggy daycare attendant. I have worked with dogs and cats various breeds, ages, temperaments and sizes. “My dog and I met Cindy and her dog before we boarded with her for the first time. It was apparent right away that she was capable of providing a good, caring home environment for my dog. I felt very comfortabke knowing he would be in the best place away from home. My 12 year old dog takes daily meds that were adminustered properly. He ate his meals,was abke to go into the yard and enjoyed her glass front door to look out. I highly recommend Cindy as a dog sitter and have booked our next visit She is the type of person you can feel confident leaving your beloved pets with.”

“Apollo can be a handful with his anxiety and reactivity, and Bri handled it beautifully. They had a rocky first night, because he kept barking at every small noise. After several hours of this, he had her a bit worried about whether or not she could get him to settle down and sleep. But she stuck with it and got him to calm down and pass out. From there the visit went great. She followed our feeding and medication instructions exactly, worked on some training with him during his stay, and did a nice job with redirecting his attention when he got reactive on walks. Communication was excellent throughout. I received regular photos and updates, and she flagged any concerns as they came up rather than letting them sit. The best sign of how the weekend went: at pickup, Apollo planted himself on and between her feet multiple times while we were talking about how the weekend went. He clearly trusts and adores her, which can be difficult given his anxiety. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!”
“Esperita was very good and very accommodating. we had to leave early at the last minute and Esperita took the dogs one day early without hesitation. She even changed the booking so all we had to do was accept which made it easy on us. She also took pictures of the dogs and wrote to us every day telling us what they did that day and how they were doing. We will definitely use Esperita again.”
