About: I enjoy animals of all kinds, and I understand seeing pets as family members. I have been primary caregiver for many pets over the years, from aquarium fish to parrots to large dogs. I have (with professional guidance) trained puppies and cared for elder dogs. My work schedule is generally flexible and mostly remote, so I believe I can accommodate most needs. We offer the most unique experience for your pets, allowing them to have their own getaway when you have things come up in life. Whether that is planned vacations or when life likes to kick you down, we are here to offer a boarding experience like no other. My family and I have always owned dogs; I grew up with them and trained them all my life. Our family is also part of a rescue. So what better way to use our land than to also take care of other people's dogs! We are located in the northern part of Alamance County. We offer 98 acres of land with several walking trails next to a flowing creek, a clean and swimmable pond with a shallow area, a gated outside area with separate runners for the cool days with a nice breeze, and an inside area with luxury crates equipped with barn doors and beds inside of them for all of our furry visitors to relax and feel right at home! Here at our farm called The Retreat, we want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your own getaway! Currently, we are usually available 24 hours a day for your pet. I work from home as a bookkeeper and as a Realtor, so I’m usually here working from home unless I’m running to show a home. While I’m out, I have my wife and the rest of my family to cover my spot until I return. So, your pet should always have someone here to care for them! Here, your pet will always have someone to care for them throughout the day, so you can trust they are in the best of hands. We also understand that it’s a lot of land, so we offer clip-on air tags for your dog's collar while they stay here for extra safety and surveillance. It is our goal for our furry guests to have a safe and stimulating environment at all times during their stay!

About: Hello! My husband Nick and I work from home and would love to watch your furry baby during the day. We are new to Rover but not new to taking care of animals. Besides having childhood pets, we have been pet owners for over 10 years. We have fostered and dog-sat several dogs in the past and have had a few dogs of our own but do not currently have any. We aren't ready to adopt another family member just yet but miss having dogs around occasionally. We have indoor and outdoor cats (all up to date on vaccines and are all fixed) so your dog(s) would need to be cat savvy or disinterested in cats. Your dog(s) would hang out with humans (and kitties) all day while you're at work or running errands. We have a fenced in backyard and could take them on walks around the neighborhood. Do you have a dog that can't go to regular doggy day care (maybe because they aren't dog friendly) or perhaps they have separation anxiety or need more frequent bathroom breaks, then look no further. We would love to care for your fur baby like our own. My husband and I both work from home and can easily take your dogs for neighborhood walks or frequent bathroom breaks outside in our fenced in backyard. We have a fenced in backyard for bathroom breaks and play time and a nice quiet neighborhood for walks. We have a quiet home with indoor and outdoor cats and no kids.

About: What makes me special? Everything!!! A dog has always been a family member since I can remember. Thank God for loving parents who believed in bringing all kinds of pets in our home. We had birds, hamsters, and even the occasional snake or frog from the yard! There is a certain bond you get from a dog that you cannot get from any other animal, though...and I am lucky enough to have experienced that. My parents are proud owners of a rescue cat, and my sister's family has 3 kitties in their happy home!! They also have a sweet little gerbil that has somehow survived all of those felines! You can definitely tell we are a family of animal lovers!!! Since February 2017, my family "farm" has grown. I raised 21 babychicks from a day old...8 of which were ours, the rest for 2 other families...then we added 3 more, barely mature, hens and a rooster to our flock. It has definitely been a fun and wonderful learning experience! I have a wonderful rescued Pit, Buddy! We raised those chicks with Buddy around...so he is great with them! It's pretty amazing!!! (Oh...and just to clarify...Buddy will stay home during any visits/stays with your pet(s). That way you'll know your baby/babies are receiving the full attention they deserve!) Buddy is probably the most spoiled dog in the world because I make practically everything for him, from his shampoos (using essential oils) to his treats. He does get the dental treats at least once a day, but other than that...he's a gourmet doggie! I am a stay-at-home pup Mom...so on the 24 hour overnight visits with me, I'll only need to leave a couple of times during the day to take Buddy out to play, etc....he'll be with his Dad all night. Otherwise, I'm all yours, so if you need someone there to take your baby out literally every 2 hours or less, I can do it!! :-) I do Daycare a little different than Rover does...I only offer daycare in your home. I feel this is the best way to keep your pets in a place they feel super comfortable & with a sitter who will keep them happy, healthy and on their schedule completely. I will always keep you up to date on how your pet or pets are doing and will send you plenty of pictures if you wish! Extras services available: Baths with or w/o essential oils, Homemade bath soap with essential oils to-go (made with any requested oils from list), Doggie bag of treats to-go (made to your pet's dietary needs.) I have numerous flours available to meet any digestive issues. - No preservatives & human-grade (though some flavors may not suit human's taste buds!) Being an artist and an avid gardener I spend my time painting or caring for mine and my daughters ( who lives next door ) gardens so your pets can be with me all day. I have a large fenced in garden with plenty of room for your dog to run and play with my dog and any in my care at the time. You will provide their food and I will strictly adhere to your specified feeding schedule. If I'm taking care of your pets at your home I will follow any rules or guidelines you have in place as I would in my home. Advance notice always helps but I can likely handle last-minute requests as well. I am not able to host any pets but I am available for pet-sitting, check-ins, and dog-walking. Above all I try to care for people's pets as they would. Information about your pets' routines, dietary and medical needs, training, etc., is always appreciated. I am alert to what pets communicate about their needs and feelings. I generally believe in positive reinforcement and addressing issues before they become problems.
About: I’ve always lived with animals. I’ve had cats and dogs, I also have worked with horses! I’ve taken care of cats, dogs, horses and chickens. I have a full time job as a teacher, so summers I’m the most available! During the summer, I can pet sit as long as you need! I can easily crate your dog if needed. A fenced in backyard is perfect for your pet to roam while we play outside! I’m able to operate an automatic feeder and water.

Since I was a baby and got my first cat at 6 weeks old, I have grown up in a household full of animals with everything from cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, you name it, and those animals have taught me so much, enough that I want to give back to the local community and their animals! I strive to maintain a clean space and comfortable for my pets where they can relax and follow their usual routines with no worries. I maintain consistent feeding schedules, provide daily exercise and playtime, and ensure their safety by always supervising. They have designated rest areas (although I do allow animals on furniture), plenty of enrichment activities/toys, and lots of affection of course! I also have a large yard where my dogs love to run around and play with toys (when outside, they are always supervised) and a quiet neighborhood that is perfect for walks! I am always keeping my eyes on them, making sure they are healthy, eating/drinking, and exercising correctly. In a clients home is a bit different as this is not my personal space. I tend to follow the routine/schedule exactly as written and complete the usual duties such as feeding, walking, playtime, waste/litter cleanup, etc. I keep the home clean, ensure safety over the property and animals, and provide regular updates and photos to owners during each visit. I always double check and make sure all pets are comfortable, safe, and have everything they need in their space before I leave.

“Marilyn is absolutely amazing! We had contacted her hoping she might be able to accommodate our dogs for a last minute trip, and she quickly set up the meet and greet and boarding! Our "puppies" tend to be pretty high energy, and they seemed to fit right in with the family. This was the first trip I've been on where I forgot to worry about the dogs and just enjoy our trip, which never happens. The communication, updates, and photos were consistent and frequent, and I felt like they were in amazing hands the entire time. Both Maci and Oakley came back so happy (and so tired). About: I’m an experienced and attentive dog caregiver who truly loves spending time with animals. Over the years, I’ve cared for many dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs, and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I have a large, fully fenced yard that gives dogs plenty of room to run, play, and explore safely. I’m very observant and hands-on, so pet parents can feel confident that their dogs will receive lots of attention, supervision, exercise, and affection throughout their stay. I work from home and have plenty of time and attention to give to your dog(s). I wake up early so we can get outside before it gets too hot. Happy for short or long stays! I have an acre fenced yard that is reinforced every few inches that is full of fun and smells and space to run. They will always be supervised, and indoors there is lots of cozy spots to lay and/or cuddle.
