She is the first sitter we've ever taken our 7.5 month old PJ to so my husband and I were apprehensive because we've only had him 4 months. PJ, although so adorable and very loving, is very hyper and feisty when he sees people and other animals. We are still learning his habits and behaviors so this was our first sitter-test. When we got to Ashley's home, we were greeted by Ashley and Cheyenne. To our surprise, PJ was so happy to see them! He jumped out of the car, went to them, and never turned around to say goodbye - our feelings were hurt, but that was the reassurance we needed to enjoy our time visiting with family for the day and night - we were not worried at all! Ashley even took the time to send us pictures of PJ interacting with the entire family (people and fur family members) and gave us the feedback we need regarding PJ's behavior with others. We will definitely be visiting with Ashley whenever we are in Rocky Mount. I actually wish we lived in the same town so we could have play dates and family outings together. About: I’ve grown up with 5-6 dogs always in the household. My mom is a licensed dog breeder, who also shows dogs and has for years as well as myself (2 years of dog showing experience myself, my mom over 20+) . We have shown dogs, groomed them, trained them behaviorally. I have dealt with ranges of dogs as far as puppies, chihuahuas to whippets, Aussies, German sherperds, Dobermans, and even Irish wolfhounds which is the breed my mom has always had since I can remember. We have also fostered dogs of mixed breeds, and trained dogs behaviorally or for dog shows, for clients. I have quite the experience in different kinds of dogs and the type of personalities they may have and am always up for a challenge. I’ve been apart of all that as well as growing up learning about every breed and being in dog shows myself. Animals have been my families life at home and for work whether tiny or huge! I’ve taken care of dogs since I was younger and have done everything in the book of what it takes to care for a dog as far as walking, giving them their food and water by the scheduled time, being aware and looking out for any outlying concerns through the dogs behavior, bonding with the dog to give a comfortable setting, bathing them, and simply just showing them love, as any animal deserves the same respect humans get! (: Rover is my only job, I am home 24/7 as someone who is in school online. About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, up to three at a time. Over the years I’ve taken in many rescues and fostered dogs from time to time — big or small, young or old it doesn’t matter to me. I’ve also had cats throughout my life. Simply put, I’m an animal lover. Right now I have two dogs of my own, River and Bruiser (an 85lb beauceron and a 35lb true mutt, both rescues, who have traveled cross country with me. They hike, camp and swim but mostly love cuddles. I’m experienced giving medications when needed — oral meds, ear drops, you name it — and I’ve helped several dogs recover post-surgery. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages, behaviors and sizes. I’m active and outgoing, so I love taking dogs for long walks. I work from home, so as long as there’s Wi-Fi, I’m happy to house-sit and hang out with your dogs or cats while I work. I’m also available for quick drop-in visits — walks, feeding, water, play, fetch, whatever’s needed. Flexible scheduling works fine for me. I work from home full time so I’m here with them all day. We typically go for three walks a day in addition to play time in the yard and most importantly lots of belly rubs and cuddles. I have a fenced yard where we play fetch, take the sun and play in the sprinklers. Dogs have free reign and are allowed on couches and beds.

About: I have always had animals in my home growing up. Currently I own 4 cats but have had small rodents such as hamsters and guinea pigs as well. I worked in pet care for Petsmart and worked there for 2 and a half years before beginning my teaching career. As someone who has had rodents and taken care of reptiles at Petsmart, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have exotics! I have taken care of and watched my parents animals which consisted of 6 cats, one had to have insulin twice a day. I’ve given different animals medications and am confident I can watch your fur babies! I look forward to hearing from you! I am a full time teacher and am currently only available on weekends or holidays as of right now. I’ll have more free time over spring and summer break! I prefer to not board animals in my home as I do not have room for them. However, I would very much enjoy coming over and taking care of them for drop in visits!

“Judy watched Bennie for a long weekend while I was out of town and this being the first time I’ve left him with someone for that long, I was nervous. But Judy was incredibly sweet and so was her puppy. Bennie was well taken care of and I got lots of pictures. She has a very nice fenced in yard and lets the dogs come and go as they please. I will definitely be using Judy again!”
“We are SO grateful for Gina! Two months before a trip of ours, our 2-y/o German shepherd mix started showing concerning behaviors associated with anxiety and fear. We’ve been working with a behavioralist but had an international trip planned. We chose not to leave our pup with family in order to keep her separated from other dogs as we address her behavior. We found Gina on Rover and we’re so glad we did. Gina kept us up to date while we were away and demonstrated a commitment to Olive’s wellbeing and helping us to work with her on her behaviors on walks, etc. Olive had such a good time during her 9-day stay with Gina and we felt so comfortable leaving her there. We hope to book with Gina again in the future!”

Valerie was quick to notify us (we were out of the country)...and after a visit to the vet, he returned to Valerie. She took EXCELLENT care of our baby!!”
