I love to play, walk, bathe, swim, and do pretty much whatever it is your animal needs. I am comfortable with all ages, sizes and breeds. If needed, I can administer medicines. I have had my own dogs and other pets since I was 7 years old, so I am hoping that I can care for your pets the way that I have always cared for my own. Pet care is part of my everyday routine. My family and I have always owned dogs; I grew up with them and trained them all my life. Our family is also part of a rescue. So what better way to use our land than to also take care of other people's dogs! We are located in the northern part of Alamance County. We offer 98 acres of land with several walking trails next to a flowing creek, a clean and swimmable pond with a shallow area, a gated outside area with separate runners for the cool days with a nice breeze, and an inside area with luxury crates equipped with barn doors and beds inside of them for all of our furry visitors to relax and feel right at home! Here at our farm called The Retreat, we want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your own getaway! Currently, we are usually available 24 hours a day for your pet. I work from home as a bookkeeper and as a Realtor, so I’m usually here working from home unless I’m running to show a home. While I’m out, I have my wife and the rest of my family to cover my spot until I return. So, your pet should always have someone here to care for them! Here, your pet will always have someone to care for them throughout the day, so you can trust they are in the best of hands. We also understand that it’s a lot of land, so we offer clip-on air tags for your dog's collar while they stay here for extra safety and surveillance. About: DISCLAIMER * As of 10/26/2024 * If i cannot meet you and your pets before the start of the booking, i will not accept the booking. This has become a safety issue for me. I will no longer be able to accept verbal verification that your pet will be fine with a stranger entering the home. (Exceptions are small puppies) I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was 10. My neighbor growing up had 4 cats, that I loved dearly! She was the first person who allowed me to watch her fur babies when she went on vacation! I've pet sat many times since then. Dogs big and small of all breeds from a little pug to a 100lb+ Rottweiler. I own a 85lb pit bull mix and a 10lb weenier dog. 🐶 They are my babies.💗 I can drop in anytime to check on your fur babies. Spend extra time with them. I do bathing, and walks also! If you need your fur babies to be crated, no problem! I will make sure their safety comes first. You can put your mind at ease knowing your pets will be taken care of! This is my full time job, I enjoy every second of it! So day or night I can always do a drop in visit or a walk! Your pets safety comes first! So during a meet and greet I will be going over a small list of questions to make sure I can take care of your fur baby to the best of my ability. With this I create a “pet profile” so when you need to rebook with me I’ve already got a reference to look back at. EXAMPLE; if your dog is good with other animals, or if there is a certain amount of food that needs to be given. These are just notes I make for myself, and so you can rest assured your fur baby is getting the best care!
About: What makes me special? Everything!!! A dog has always been a family member since I can remember. Thank God for loving parents who believed in bringing all kinds of pets in our home. We had birds, hamsters, and even the occasional snake or frog from the yard! There is a certain bond you get from a dog that you cannot get from any other animal, though...and I am lucky enough to have experienced that. My parents are proud owners of a rescue cat, and my sister's family has 3 kitties in their happy home!! They also have a sweet little gerbil that has somehow survived all of those felines! You can definitely tell we are a family of animal lovers!!! Since February 2017, my family "farm" has grown. I raised 21 babychicks from a day old...8 of which were ours, the rest for 2 other families...then we added 3 more, barely mature, hens and a rooster to our flock. It has definitely been a fun and wonderful learning experience! I have a wonderful rescued Pit, Buddy! We raised those chicks with Buddy around...so he is great with them! It's pretty amazing!!! (Oh...and just to clarify...Buddy will stay home during any visits/stays with your pet(s). That way you'll know your baby/babies are receiving the full attention they deserve!) Buddy is probably the most spoiled dog in the world because I make practically everything for him, from his shampoos (using essential oils) to his treats. He does get the dental treats at least once a day, but other than that...he's a gourmet doggie! I am a stay-at-home pup Mom...so on the 24 hour overnight visits with me, I'll only need to leave a couple of times during the day to take Buddy out to play, etc....he'll be with his Dad all night. Otherwise, I'm all yours, so if you need someone there to take your baby out literally every 2 hours or less, I can do it!! :-) I do Daycare a little different than Rover does...I only offer daycare in your home. I feel this is the best way to keep your pets in a place they feel super comfortable & with a sitter who will keep them happy, healthy and on their schedule completely. I will always keep you up to date on how your pet or pets are doing and will send you plenty of pictures if you wish! Extras services available: Baths with or w/o essential oils, Homemade bath soap with essential oils to-go (made with any requested oils from list), Doggie bag of treats to-go (made to your pet's dietary needs.) I have quite a bit of experience in training and I love working on puppy manners. I have a soft spot for small dogs and pit bulls! I can't wait to meet your babies! I currently am home full time. About: I grew up with a German Shepherd and have been caring for dogs of all breeds and temperaments for over 10 years. Friends and family have always trusted me as their go-to person when they travel or need help with their pets. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding routines, medication schedules, or just quality couch time, I treat every dog like my own. I’m reliable, communicative, and genuinely love spending time with dogs. I’m currently working from home and make my own hours, so I’ve got plenty of flexible time to care for your pets! I’m available weekdays and most weekends morning, afternoon or night. When I visit your home, I follow your pet’s existing routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walk routes, and any special instructions. I always send photo and text updates so you know your dog is happy and comfortable. I’m careful about securing doors and gates, and I’m happy to discuss any specific needs like medication or dietary restrictions before the first visit. I also do require that I come meet you and your pet before accepting you as a client. I want to ensure both you and your pet are comfortable with me and vice versa.
About: Ever since I was a teenager I've been taking care of neighbors pets and watching their houses while they were away. I have a dog of my own and I love animals of all types. When I pets sit for you. I take care of your dog or cat like they are my own. I also leave your house in a better condition than I found it. My goal is for your pet to forgot that mom/dad is not around, and have fun/release their energy while maintaining their normal schedule. About: I have been taking care of different types of dogs since I was young. Friends, family and others have relied on me to walk, feed, and watch their dogs over night in their own home. I’m currently working part time and I am a part time student, but they are different days so I have plenty of time with your pup or pups! I am free for walking, playing, and watching dogs in your home when it is needed. I will follow any instructions you give to me to safely walk and take care of your animals in your home or neighborhood, this includes backyard, front yard, and anywhere else I am given permission to take your dog.
About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. My mother was a dog sitter when I was younger so that has made me comfortable around most if not all breeds. I would help her with the feeding while she took them out. Now that I’m older I have two huskies and a cat. My goal is to eventually have farm animals, mainly as pets 😂. So, my love for animals is quite enormous. I do currently work from home M-F. I can give potty breaks every 2-3 hours while working. Since I work from home your pet would have to be well mannered while I’m on the phone. They of course will be welcomed to lay around me while working and will be loved on the entire time 😊. I have a huge yard, 2 acres worth. About 1/2 an acre is fenced in for the dogs. I have 2 spunky huskies well one tends to be more lazy than anything and I have a cat that loves our dogs.

We were traveling for an extended time and I literally just relaxed and enjoyed the trip just knowing that our dog Lou was in such good hands. Lou is a rescue with some behavior issues which is where Erin is really amazing. She took everything in stride and I can easily see that Lou got lots of attention and companionship. She is an anxious dog and although she enjoys doggy daycare/and we have had other pet sitters, Lou always comes home stressed out, exhausted, nervous and her eyes look bloodshot. Not this time! This has been a completely different experience, she is visibly calm and shows no signs of stress at all. Erin is also super organized and detail-oriented, she is flexible (I had to change some dates) and she had no reservations about giving the daily medication Lou needs. Erin's communication was excellent, she even sent us daily pictures of Lou! Erin exceeded our expectations at every turn and I hope she will become a regular member of Lou's family for future stays. Thank you Erin and Dave, your care meant the world to us!”
