The biggest surprise was that he didn’t need his anxiety meds at all during his stay, which has never happened when he’s been at a traditional kennel. That alone says so much about how comfortable and well cared for he was. When I picked him up, he was happy, calm, and transitioned right back home easily. In the past after kennel stays he’s been much more stressed, so this was a huge difference. It’s clear Marilyn treats the dogs like part of the family, and I’m so grateful Miklo got to spend time with her. I will absolutely be booking with Marilyn again! Thank you.:):)”

Whether that is planned vacations or when life likes to kick you down, we are here to offer a boarding experience like no other. My family and I have always owned dogs; I grew up with them and trained them all my life. Our family is also part of a rescue. So what better way to use our land than to also take care of other people's dogs! We are located in the northern part of Alamance County. We offer 98 acres of land with several walking trails next to a flowing creek, a clean and swimmable pond with a shallow area, a gated outside area with separate runners for the cool days with a nice breeze, and an inside area with luxury crates equipped with barn doors and beds inside of them for all of our furry visitors to relax and feel right at home! Here at our farm called The Retreat, we want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your own getaway! Currently, we are usually available 24 hours a day for your pet. I work from home as a bookkeeper and as a Realtor, so I’m usually here working from home unless I’m running to show a home. While I’m out, I have my wife and the rest of my family to cover my spot until I return. So, your pet should always have someone here to care for them! Here, your pet will always have someone to care for them throughout the day, so you can trust they are in the best of hands. We also understand that it’s a lot of land, so we offer clip-on air tags for your dog's collar while they stay here for extra safety and surveillance. It is our goal for our furry guests to have a safe and stimulating environment at all times during their stay!

About: I’ve had animals of many kinds from tiny to huge growing up. I’d normally house sit for family and friends until I decided to join the Rover crew. I enjoy house sitting as I’ve realized pet are usually more comfortable in their own homes. I have the ability to bathe, walk, feed, and of course play with your pets! About: I am a veterinary assistant (coming from a emergency and specialty hospital setting) with a background of animal boarding/daycare experience which includes basic grooming (nail trimming, anal gland expression, bathing...), training, and play. I'm comfortable and experienced with all types of animal behavior and am more than happy to accommodate special needs! I am skilled in dog and cat medication administration: intranasally, subcutaneously, orally, and intramuscularly. I am also RECOVER certified in dog/cat CPR BLS/ALS and well versed in handling animal emergencies and events. I am also comfortable with chicken (just chickens at this point in my career), rabbit, and guinea pig care including SQ, IM, and oral medication administration. I love animals and i'm elated to have the opportunity to take care of your babies! I'm currently a part-time worker at a general family vet practice and pick up shifts occasionally at an emergency veterinary hospital. My schedule is a little flexible due to this fact and my availability will reflect this! I do own two (2) cats of my own and will ask if your pet is comfortable with being left for maximum 2 hours at a time, no more than once a day so I can check up on them. This is for house sitting only. When visiting your home I'll be conscious of how your pet receives me. For bright, young puppies and kittens, I'll keep them entertained and stimulated for the length of my visit, making sure there is no signs of trouble or illness. I'll be sure to clean and sanitize myself before and after each visit with these puppies/kittens to ensure their safety and health. About: I’ve always had a passion for animals. Growing up, my mother was a dog sitter, which made me comfortable around most, if not all, breeds. I would help her with feeding while she took the dogs out. Now that I’m older, I have two huskies and a cat. My ultimate goal is to eventually have farm animals, mainly as pets. 😂 So, my love for animals is quite immense. I’m currently in school and volunteer for 4-5 hours each day on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I can provide potty breaks whenever needed, except during my volunteer work. Since these volunteer days are mandatory for my school program, we’ll have to find a way to accommodate them. Aside from these commitments, I’m mostly at home, except for occasional errands. I only allow one pooch per night, as per my previous experiences. Approximately half of it is fenced in to provide a safe space for my two energetic huskies. One of them is particularly lazy, while the other is quite active. Not just dogs, I’ve raised chickens, Guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, geckos, and I helped birth puppies once 😂 My partner and I are full time Pet Sitters! We are available to house sit on weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnight. We require a meet and greet before all of our sits and prefer booking confirmation 2 weeks before your trip, but we do have sympathy for emergency situations and are always happy to help. Whenever I take care of your animal I will always make sure to take very good care of the home I’m staying in, as well as the animal or animal’s I’m taking care of. I’ve never once missed a meal time or potty break. Any Pet sitter can promise to take care of your Animals basic needs, but I can promise you your animals will be loved by me the same way as if you never left, while you’re away. If there’s any Training you’d like me to keep up with while you’re gone, just let me know and I’ll make sure to practice with them.
About: Hi there! I’ve had pets my entire life and currently have a 6 year old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix, so I’m no stranger to high energy dogs that need structure, exercise, and plenty of mental stimulation. Through caring for my own dog and helping friends and family with theirs over the years, I’ve gained experience with everything from daily walks and feeding routines to enrichment, playtime, and providing extra patience for anxious or reactive pups. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. One of the perks of working freelance is having a flexible schedule! That means I can often accommodate daytime walks, drop-ins, and last-minute requests. I love spending time with animals, so getting to care for pets throughout my week is something I genuinely enjoy. “Miklo had a wonderful stay with Marilyn! I’m pretty sure he had more fun than I did on my trip. Marilyn sent lots of photos and updates of him happily playing with his new dog friends and making himself right at home, which made me feel so relaxed knowing he was in great hands. She followed his feeding routine perfectly, including feeding him three times a day because of his sensitive stomach. I really appreciated that attention to detail and consistency. The biggest surprise was that he didn’t need his anxiety meds at all during his stay, which has never happened when he’s been at a traditional kennel. That alone says so much about how comfortable and well cared for he was. When I picked him up, he was happy, calm, and transitioned right back home easily. In the past after kennel stays he’s been much more stressed, so this was a huge difference. It’s clear Marilyn treats the dogs like part of the family, and I’m so grateful Miklo got to spend time with her. I will absolutely be booking with Marilyn again! Thank you.:):)”
