“My dog Taddy needed a sitter short notice for 2 weeks, when our previously scheduled sitter had to cancel due to a family emergency. Julia was fortunately available and very attentive to Taddy's issues (with him being an anxious rescue dog, with arthritis, reactivity towards other dogs, etc.). She also didn't take on another client during the 2 weeks because of Taddy's issues with other dogs. We got a picture and an update every 2-3 days while we were away. Taddy looked very comfortable and at home in the pictures. Our flight back was delayed, and we picked up Taddy close to midnight, much later than planned. Julia was v cooperative and flexible with our delay which we really appreciated.”

About: I've spent much of my life living with and caring for dogs--from growing up with dogs throughout childhood, to helping care for dogs as an adult, to having Spencer, my most recent dog. I don't currently have pets of my own, which means visiting dogs get my full attention and don't have to adjust to unfamiliar resident animals. I genuinely miss having a dog around! I work from home and love the idea of giving someone's dog a cozy, low-stress place to stay while their humans are away. I intentionally accept dogs from only one household at a time, so I'm able to get to know their routine, personality, and quirks and make sure they get lots of individual attention. I have a dog door that suits a large dog and a fenced-in backyard in beautiful Southwest Garden, across from The Hill. I'm comfortable following detailed feeding and medication instructions and am happy to care for senior dogs. I'm currently focusing on friendly, reliably housetrained adult small and medium dogs that I can comfortably handle on leash. I prefer a meet-and-greet before a first stay so that both the dog and I can ensure we're comfortable together. And I love sending photos and updates! Getting pictures of Spencer when I traveled always made me happy, so I'm delighted to do the same for you. I work from home Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm,, so I’m home much of the day and can easily fit walks, playtime, meals, potty breaks, and plenty of attention into my routine. I live on a quiet, tree-lined street with sidewalks and no through traffic, just ten houses from Sublette Park. I love walking the perimeter of the park, so dogs who enjoy walks will have plenty of opportunities to get out and "sniff the puppy newspaper." I’m happy to take dogs for several walks a day depending on their normal routine and energy level. I do leave the house for errands and activities, so dogs should be comfortable relaxing at home alone for a few hours at a time. I have a quiet, dog-friendly home with no resident pets, and I only host dogs from one household at a time. I have a large, fully fenced privacy backyard for supervised play and potty breaks, plus a dog door that can be closed and locked when needed. Dogs are welcome to relax on my large couch, which is always covered with waterproof pet blankets. At night, dogs can sleep in their own crate in my downstairs den, on the couch, or--if they’re well behaved without a crate--on a dog bed in my bedroom. I don’t provide a crate, so owners should bring one if their dog needs it. I prefer to meet new dogs before their first stay so I can learn their routine and make sure I can handle them comfortably and safely. I’m currently best suited for friendly, reliably housetrained adult dogs who aren’t strong pullers, destructive chewers, or determined escape artists.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. I only recently, in the past couple of years, started taking care of other people’s pups, and I really enjoy it. I treat all pups as if they were my own. I am retired. I play pickleball quite a bit, but I am never gone more than a few hours at a time. My husband works from home, so there is almost always someone around to accompany your pup. My favorite part of the job is showering pups with love. We have mattresses on the floor and if the pups are willing, we love to snuggle with them. Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and even the bed if that’s what they’re used to at home, and I have several dog beds set up around the house too. I also have a large crate available if your dog needs a quiet, secure space to settle into. I keep a close eye on dogs at all times, dog-proof the areas we’re in, and make sure fresh water is always available.

About: My pet care experience includes not only caretaking for my own dog and family friend's dogs over the years, but I also worked for a pet boarding and daycare facility for 2 years. This exposed me to knowledge about dog behavior, caretaking, playtime, and important details like specific needs of medicine and feeding methods for each dog in the facility of roughly 130 dogs. When I come over to your house to either walk or dog sit, I will first make sure I read all instructions carefully for what the pet owner wants & needs for their pup. Then, I will walk/dog-sit with them and send you some pictures of your pet to give you updates on how they are doing. About: ***Constant care pets will be an extra fee*** Constant care is care in which we cannot leave your pet alone for more than 3 hours. Meet and greets are free unless you need more than one before the stay, then the first meet and greet is free. My expertise is with older dogs, pets with disabilities (such as dementia or seizures), and pets that need medications. I'm also experienced in multi-pet homes where one or more pets are seniors/special needs and other pets are high energy or puppies/kittens. I have experience caring for pets who are recovering from operations as well. If your pet does need Constant care, we can negotiate a price that works for you. I've always had pets. Short notice is ok as long as there are at least 2 days between the time I'm asked and the time of the stay so that there's time for a meet and greet. “Marie was a life saver to agree to take our aging pug for his first stay with only 24 hours notice. She was kind, flexible, accommodating and understanding. She has young kids who welcomed Napoleon at the car door and were so excited to have a "pudgy puggie" to play with. He LOVED the attention and care. Upon pick up he was packed and ready to go -- super efficient sendoff. It made me feel so much better to leave my much loved dog in their care. I rebooked Marie for another stay as soon as I got home. A++.”
“Jacob is a wonderful pet sitter. He took care of my two cats and kept me updated with pics and notes about how they were doing. One of my cats’ had trouble adjusting but he encouraged her everyday to come out of her safe place. She finally came out on the last day. So I will definitely use him again. By the way he took my cats in an emergency situation and contacted me right away. Thank you to Rover, but mostly a huge shout out and thank you to Jacob.”

“My dog Taddy needed a sitter short notice for 2 weeks, when our previously scheduled sitter had to cancel due to a family emergency. Julia was fortunately available and very attentive to Taddy's issues (with him being an anxious rescue dog, with arthritis, reactivity towards other dogs, etc.). She also didn't take on another client during the 2 weeks because of Taddy's issues with other dogs. We got a picture and an update every 2-3 days while we were away. Taddy looked very comfortable and at home in the pictures. Our flight back was delayed, and we picked up Taddy close to midnight, much later than planned. Julia was v cooperative and flexible with our delay which we really appreciated.”

“Gabrielle accepted my late request and went above and beyond to care for my little guy. My cat seemed very comfortable and happy in her space and she was very attentive to him and his needs. She watched him for me when he needed medicine administered twice daily and extra special attention which he got. I’m so grateful to have found her on Rover!
