About: I’ve had cats basically my whole life, now as an adult I have had Nirvana for around 10 years. She’s my favorite little parrot. I’m used to very social cats, but I understand a lot of kitties can be skittish. Let me know where your kitty falls so I know what to expect! I think sometimes cats are dismissed as being “antisocial” but i’ve been around many cats that need daily socialization and play time! About: I’ve had 15 years of dogs in my houses and many pets in the family who have needed sitting. I’m also normally responsible for the puppy age :) My dog is a 6 year old black lab. About: I've taken care of cats for most of my life and volunteered at an animal shelter for a few years. I've taken care of two cats up into their old ages of 16 years and 19 years old each, both living healthy, happy, comfortable lives indoors. They were shorthaired cats, named Morris and Edward. Morris was a wild rez cat, he was very silly, small, buff black cat who grew just a little bit fat in his old age, and since he was young he's had a slightly shorter, stubbed tip tail and a frostbitten ear. Edward was a rescued wild barncat from the farmlands outside of Wrenshall, a big, lean, and smart gray cat. They both lived very happily together under my care and the care of my parents and grandparents for their entire lives. I have two cats, the oldest is 5 years old, her name is Charwee, and the youngest is 2 years old, his name is Riggsatoni. They are both longhaired cats, with Charwee being a near-black tortoiseshell with a golden ruff, left foot, and a series of golden freckles across her face like a galaxy, finishing with a "shooting star" out of her left ear. Riggs is an dusty orange and white mask-and-mantle, taller than his new friend, Charwee, but with just as much fur and sweetness as she has. He's still getting the hang of being part of our household, as he's been with me since November 2025. I've also managed to train my 5 year old cat a variety of tricks and help behaviors, such as: She reminds me to take my medications if I've not gotten to it yet. She can also do two variations of a "stand" trick, complete the "spin" trick in both directions, and understands her "left" and "right" sides after training her the "touch" and "high five" tricks, meaning you can ask her for a "left paw touch" and she'll give you one. She is also trained to walk on harness. I am in process of training my youngest 2 year old cat to get him used to his harness, and even considering training him with tricks as well, but I am also giving him time to get used to his new home with my boyfriend and I. I have lived with both shorthair and longhair cats, and I've managed to trim claws with little issue for most cats; granted, some cats are obviously not always going to be comfortable with claw trims, and therefore, in my experience, it has been better for their mental state to only do one claw every five to thirty minutes, and reassure them that they're okay with giving them pets, play, and treats, or even their personal space if they desire instead, with gentle speak to remind them they still need their "spaw" day, because no one wants their nails embedded into their pads. For very short times over the course of my 26 years, I have also taken care of dogs every now and again, and even managed to train them how to handle claw trims or do some tricks. I once even had a pair of two mixed shepherd pups, picked up from my reservation, and managed to train them to follow off-leash, accept claw trims, wear harnesses, do a few tricks, and even accept baths in the short time that I was taking care of them. I'm flexible as I'm currently unemployed and job-hunting. I'm often awake at 7am but I don't become more active until 8am, and from then I'm available until 9pm. I'm usually observing body language, often consciously listening to vocal cues, and being mindful while learning about other's pet's behaviors and preferences, paying attention to any possible wants or needs via observing body languages; a few examples I can provide is when my cats point their bodies towards their bowls and indicate to me that something isn't full enough and needs more food or water, or when they indicate they want to play with me and not the other cat, or when they use their paws to touch things that have something they want inside of them, like a bag of treats or a drawer that contains the treats.

About: I was an active Rover sitter from 2017-2022 before going on an extended leave. My partner and I have decided to lightly reopen (0-2 stays per month) our home for dogsitting clients because I miss it. If folks are interested in a housesitter and live closer to Edina, my partner Ryan is available for housesitting. He can only housesit for clients with dogs who can handle a standard work day alone. I have a broad experience with many different types of dogs. Since I was young, my family always took in strays and rehomes and it's something that I have continued with as I grew up. I have experience both owning and watching small dogs, large dogs, high energy (border collies and heelers), low energy, high work drive (malinios), anxious, reactive, confident, and multiple dogs. I also have experience managing multiple dog households in which one dog was dog aggressive/reactive. I state this since I know what it's like to try and get a sitter for the "problem child" of the household. I believe dogs are happier when they have a job and love working to find out what dogs enjoy doing! Some dogs enjoy using their nose, others enjoy climbing and jumping on things, some dogs like trick training and some dogs enjoy chasing the ball! But at the end of the night, all dogs like some cuddles and sleep. I currently have multiple dogs that are active in various dog sports, dog training, and walking (slowly getting back into running after an injury). I do not have a fully fenced yard but I also don't ever use my yard as a way of exercise, the yard is purely to go potty or to lay down in while I work outside. Your dog will always be on leash when going potty even if it's below freezing. I am a big believer that there's rarely bad weather just bad gear, your dog will get outside most days with me or at the very least some one-on-one time to play, train, or mental/physical exercise every day. Ryan has experience with anxious and high energy dogs but prefers dogs who enjoy cuddling and long meandering walks. Currently, I am available all day to care for Rover clients. I do have training commitments for Search and Rescue on Saturday mornings but your dog will be exercised either by Ryan during that time or exercised by me afterwards. Clients have their own separate room (my home office) for bedtime and when dogs need to be separated (calm time, feeding, needing to be left, etc). I do not require crating but strongly prefer to take on clients who crate their pups due to poor experiences of client dog’s shredding door frames. If your dog isn’t crate trained, we may have a conversation beforehand about a plan of action if your dog does destroy things when left alone.

“Our pug LOVED his 4-day stay with Brenda and her family! Our little guy got along great with her two pit bulls and really bonded with their little boy. The dogs played and ran together in the fenced in yard. Our pug came home happy and ready to nap. Each day, I received a couple of photos with a brief update which I appreciated. This was a short-notice booking, and I am so grateful that Brenda was available. We will definitely arrange dog-sitting with Brenda in the future.”
