About: I’ve taken care of cats my whole life, from kittens to seniors, and since I was 12 I’ve watched my friends and neighbors dogs as well. I’ve given both cats and dogs medication as well as bottle fed them if they were too young for solid food. I have an incredibly flexible hybrid work schedule! The upside for your dog is that I'm home most of the day and can provide plenty of supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and attention. I live in a first-floor duplex in South Minneapolis with a fully fenced yard. I share my home with two friendly dogs: a senior blind Boston Terrier and a playful 3-year-old who loves having the right playmate. Because we've welcomed so many foster dogs into our home over the years, both of my dogs are comfortable meeting new canine friends and are adaptable to different personalities and energy levels. My younger dog is a swimmer, so during the summer we love visiting the dog park at Minnehaha Falls. If your dog enjoys adventures, has reliable recall, and you'd be comfortable with it, I'd be happy to bring them along! I want visiting dogs to feel as comfortable as possible, so I try to maintain the routines they're used to at home. Dogs are welcome on the furniture, and I'm flexible when it comes to crating, sleeping arrangements, and daily routines. If your dog normally sleeps in bed with their people, they're welcome to sleep with me too. While I do take my dogs on walks several times a week, daily walks are not part of our regular routine. If your dog requires daily walks, please let me know at the time of booking so we can discuss their needs and make sure we're a good fit. I provide regular photo updates so you can relax knowing your dog is happy, safe, and having a great time. A few things to know before booking: • While I am home most of the time, there are occasional events or commitments that may keep me away for 4+ hours. I will do my best to communicate this ahead of time, but please let me know if your dog cannot be left alone for that length of time so I can confirm my schedule before accepting a booking. To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, my home is generally the best fit for dogs who are: • Comfortable in a relatively calm household. Very high-energy dogs can be stressful for my senior dog, who is blind. • Reasonably quiet when left alone. Normal barking at delivery drivers or unfamiliar noises is completely fine. However, because I live in a duplex with shared walls, I am unable to host dogs who bark continuously when alone or throughout the night. My goal is to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away, and I'm always happy to answer questions to help determine if we're the right fit for each other. “We were very happy with our first boarding experience with McKenzie for our two golden retrievers. We met with McKenzie before our boarding date. It was very obvious she is caring and has a passion for the dogs she cares for. She is organized, and good communication before and during our dogs stay. Definitely recommend and will return for future boarding.”
“Our pug LOVED his 4-day stay with Brenda and her family! Our little guy got along great with her two pit bulls and really bonded with their little boy. The dogs played and ran together in the fenced in yard. Our pug came home happy and ready to nap. Each day, I received a couple of photos with a brief update which I appreciated. This was a short-notice booking, and I am so grateful that Brenda was available. We will definitely arrange dog-sitting with Brenda in the future.”

“Would rate ten stars if we could. We have never had to board our pup for longer than two days and we put our full trust in Timm for our nine day trip. It was also our dog's first experience with a cat and Timm made sure that experience went smoothly. Timm also set up a video call well in advance of our pup's stay to assure us of the other pets he'd be staying with and the home he would be staying at. When we arrived, he ran right up to the house and made himself at home. We got several updates throughout our honeymoon and enjoyed all of the photos and videos. We are so grateful for Timm and plan to book with him in the future.”

“I felt so great about leaving my dog with Emily. We did a meet and greet a month or so before my booking and at the time she was caring for another, older dog. My dog is not as spry as he used to be and knowing that she has experience with other older furry friends gave me additional peace of mind. She was always very prompt to respond during the booking process and scheduling drop off/pick up times. My dog seemed so comfortable and happy in her care, he seemed like he didn't even want to leave when I went to pick him up! I could tell how much attention and care Echo received based on the detailed updates. One of the highlights was how well Echo got along with Carolina's dog, Olivia.
