She would ask questions about his behavior to see if it was unusual and asked how we would handle it so that she was responding to Oscar in the same way we would. She wanted things to be as normal as possible for him. As she described his bedtime ritual I knew that Oscar felt safe and loved because he doesn’t snuggle up like that with just anyone. Oscar even gave her a snuggle good bye when we left. I will use Kristi for all of our short and long term care needs. We are an active household that enjoys many days outside, but also equally loves cuddling up on the couch for a movie night. At night, your pet is welcome to sleep wherever they find it most comfortable. We have had personal pet ownership experience with blindness, deafness, and separation anxiety in dogs. In addition to our own pets, we have also opened our home to foster dogs for several years, specializing and dog reactive dogs, as well as hospice/end of life care. My career consists of over a decade of hospital-based pharmacy experience, and I am now fortunate to currently work from home. With my career and volunteer dog hospice foster experience, I am comfortable and knowledgeable in administering any oral, subcutaneous, and IM medications. - We provide care to one outside family at a time to ensure a stress-free experience for everyone. I do allow exemptions for multifamily households. - Your pet will have an adult with them for at least 20/24 hours per day. Most updates are sent with morning breakfast, midafternoon rest, and before bedtime. You are also encouraged and welcome to reach out anytime outside of that. - If your pet does require a crate at any point, please ensure one accompanies them to drop off. We are a home-based boarding experience and do not have commercial kennel runs. - If your pet has been excused/banned from a commercial boarding facility, I do require a no-cost meet and greet for introductions before confirming the booking. It is my priority to ensure your pet feels safe, and I am confident in their needs before confirming commitment. - Privately insured for household companionship pets, which covers both care during boarding and any agreed-upon transportation. Keywords: home-based, medical needs, special needs, reactive, medication administration. I am generally available to accept same-day bookings as someone who works from home. At this time, my employer allows me to set my own hours, meaning I can easily adapt to your pet's schedule and any medical needs. Bathroom breaks are averaged at every two hours and anytime outside of this at your pup's request. If your pet prefers to spend afternoons in the sun, then that is where I am happy to work that day! Any pets boarded in our home can expect to have a human home a minimum of 20 out of the 24 hours in a day. We welcome your pets to rest and sleep wherever they are most comfortable- couch, pet bed, human bed, etc. If you request or your pet requires kenneling at any time, please ensure a kennel accompanies them to drop off. Our home is carpet-free (stress-free!), and we understand accidents happen. Please inform me if your pet is working on potty training, and we can reduce the number of rooms initially accessible. Our acreage is unfenced, and dogs have access to the backyard of the property. If your dog is not off-leash trained, we provide a pulley tie-out to allow them a greater range of access. If you are most comfortable with leash walking, that is also just fine with us!

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with animals. I grew up on a farm, caring for dogs, cats, cattle, and other animals, so I'm comfortable with pets of all sizes and personalities. As a Health and Physical Education teacher, I'm active, patient, dependable, and have summers off, allowing me to provide flexible care and plenty of exercise for your pets. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or just extra attention, I'll treat them like they're my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I love staying active, spending time outdoors, and giving animals the attention, exercise, and love they deserve. I believe every pet deserves to feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owner is away. In your home, I'll follow your pet's normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of affection. I'll also respect your home by keeping it clean, secure, and treating it with the same care I would my own. I understand that every pet is unique, so I'm happy to adapt to their individual needs and personality to ensure they have a fun, stress-free experience.

“Andrea was great! We would highly recommend if you have a high energy dog. She was the first one to ever care for our baby. At the time he was an 11 month old, in tact, Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. He is A LOT to handle. We got daily updates and pictures which was awesome. He appeared to be having the time of his life and not missing us at all. She allows her dogs on the furniture but we don’t. We asked her to keep him on the floor. We received pictures where her dog was on the furniture but ours was on the floor. We appreciated not having to retrain him.”
