“Lindsay was so amazing with our St Bernard. This was the first time we ever left him with a sitter and she kept us in constant contact. She sent us daily updates and pictures and if we had any questions she replied immediately. We will definitely use her again and highly recommend her service.”

“Phoebe had a wonderful time staying with Pat. She played and played and played. Pat has a really good arrangement where the dogs can hang out freely downstairs and have access to a fully enclosed yard with a tall and secure fence. Recommended! Thanks Pat.”

“Melanie provided a safe, nurturing environment for our Lucy. She was warm and welcoming when we met, and clearly gave Lucy lots of love while she was in her care. She has a large yard for dogs to play. She sent me pictures every day, both of Lucy playing with the other dogs, as well as relaxing. I felt completely confident that Lucy was in the best of hands!”

About: Currently I am between caregiving clients trying to decide what my next move is. I was born into an animal loving family, extended family, etc. I am 59 years old and have never been without at least a cat or two. I've also had 2 of my own dogs since 2005. My last senior dog passed the rainbow bridge in 2024. Born in Connecticut, lived for 45 years in Maryland and now I am living in Maine where I love it! One reason I fell in love with Maine is you can bring your dog almost anywhere here. They are a pet loving no-kill state! I have administered just about every kind of pet med out there. Every single pet has their own personality and I am very patient to learn that personality so we will become friends. I have a pretty open schedule with no real deadlines, so when ever your pets need walks, feeding, medications or just spend time with them, I am there. My own pets get feed twice a day. The time varies depending on my pet sitting schedule. But usually Its about 10am and 7pm. Whatever instructions left for me for a pet sit, I will follow to the letter. I will ask questions or text later to make sure I understand everything your pet needs. I've never run into an animal not liking me, but I am very aware of them not be comfortable with me at first. That can be stressful for them of course, so its very important that their care instructions are followed to keep them as anxiety free as possible.
“Lizzie and Brad are wonderful!! We didn’t have any worries leaving our new puppy with them. They are dog lovers and great people who take fabulous care of our furry friends. It gave me such a peace of mind leaving Ruby with them while I took care of my elderly mom. Huge thanks 🙏”

“Storme had a good time with Chyna. She was very responsive to texts while Storme was with her. She saved us with a last minute holiday booking when our booked sitter backed out. We will definitely use her again when we are in Maine!”

Between my boyfriend and I, there is always someone on property, so potty breaks can be provided frequently!
“Ellie and Sarah are great! Their house has a great setup for dogs with a fenced in area in the yard. They were super responsive to my messages, provided pictures, and asked questions of their own to make sure they provided my pets with excellent care. They were also flexible with my pickup time when my travel plans changed due to weather. Would book again!”

“I am so grateful for Bethany and her family for the loving care they give to my Australian shepherd, Remi. They care for her and treat her as part of the family. My affection and confidence may best be expressed by sharing that Bethany is listed in my contacts as “ Remi’s Rover Mom. “ I highly recommend 🙂🙏🐕”

“Jacki took the absolute best care of my golden retriever. Her dogs are also very friendly and do well with other dogs. She and her family were also able to adapt to all my dog's particular needs. When I picked him up, it was clear to me that he had a great time in Jacki's home and would be happy to go back some day.”

“Lacey and Jeremy were absolutely fantastic with our pups! We have an older dog and a young puppy, both of whom need to have frequent potty breaks. This was no problem for them. They were so welcoming and loving with our guys. Lacey carefully listened to all our concerns and directions about the dogs but I didn’t need to worry because everything went so well. They had a long stay and had such a wonderful time that I wasn’t sure they would want to come home. Lacey communicated with us regularly and sent adorable pictures. We were surprised and delighted that both dogs were given baths and looked and smelled great when we picked them up. Lacey and Jeremy definitely exceeded our expectations.”
About: I'm a work at home pet mom with a large yard, lots of toys, and a calm and welcoming house. I've always had large dogs from mixed breeds to Great Danes, but love and appreciate all types of well mannered dogs. My house sits well off the road, so its quiet and I hike or trail walk almost daily. I am adept at giving medicine, cleaning wounds and dealing with incontinent dogs, but I will only board dogs who are respectful of my cats. I am currently working from home on my own schedule. Boarded dogs who enjoy car rides can come with me on errands or outings. While each day may different, my activities will be built around the needs of the animals I am caretaking, especially if separation anxiety is an issue. I will care for your animals as per your instructions and the capabilities of your pet. I do not have a fenced in yard, but have installed a run line in the past. If a dog is used to being crated, receiving treats, or sleeping on the couch - no problem. Conversely, I don't give animals people food, and if you want your pets to stay off furniture I will strictly honor that as well. My house is small but open, so it is easy to keep an eye on them.
About: I had beagles growing up and was totally fascinated by them and they brought a big smile to my face with their antics. Later on, I adopted a red Doberman female dog and loved her to pieces taking her on all sort of outdoor adventures - she was highly athletic! I had a poodle who was a bit shy but nevertheless I gave her a great life with endless throwing of the ball for fetch and taking care of her when she went blind - older poodles have that tendency. I have a 11 year old cockapoo who is lean and trim and well loved! Yes could have used more training but what an awesome, well adjusted dog who is super friendly as I my two year old female cocker spaniel who is an absolute joy of sweetness. I have integrity, I think quick on my feet and am very responsible having raised a family and pets. I am a dog whisperer who can tune into all different kinds of dogs and dispositions. I am a semi retired man and so have much more free time. I love outdoor adventures and sunshine and I know dogs do too! First off, every dog is different and has his or her own quirks from dietary to social interactions with other dogs. It’s great to love dogs but it’s also important to provide them structure and pay good attention to their health needs. Not every dog is cut out for lengthy walks so I tailor the experience to whatever brings the dog most joy!

“Claire is the best! I no longer feel bad leaving my cat when I have a trip to go on. I know he is getting just as much love and attention from Claire. Thank you so much for watching Samson he and I both really appreciate it.”

“Hayleigh did a wonderful job with our cats. They were adopted litter mates at the age of 3 months. They have never been without us, so they were a little shy about showing themselves. Everything was done as asked, feeding, litter box, etc. Would use again if the need arises.”

“Beth is fantastic! We were away for more than a week and she stayed with our cat (a sometimes challenging cat!), and he was incredibly cared for. She went above and beyond, and we will definitely have her care for our kitty again should the need arise. I can’t recommend Beth highly enough.”

“Thank Ann! She was everything we hoped for and more. We have a cat who can be a challenge, with his funny ways and she rolled with it - even turning him into a friend. Can’t thank her enough! Also, she left the house as near or neater than when we left! Truly grateful!!”

“Gillian was an amazing sitter for our two little kitties- she played with them and made sure they were happy while we were gone! I so appreciate Gillian’s communication, kitty updates, and photos! She is an exceptional sitter!”

“Melanie was great! We were nervous leaving our cats for two weeks but she was very reassuring and kind to our pets- giving each the individual care and attention they needed. She sent regular updates and even communicated with our daughter as we were out of the country. Would book with her again!”

“We were away visiting family for a month and it was the first time in a long time that someone besides a good friend of mine stayed at our house with our 3 cats. Of course I was a bit nervous with having a new sitter but Jill quickly put my concerns at bay. She was wonderful with communicating and sending photos of the cats so I was ensured that they were getting great care. Jill was also fantastic with keeping me up to date on other house issues. When we returned home, despite her being there for a month, the place looked like nothing had happened! Jill left the house so clean and had also take very good care of the outside areas. We could not have been more pleased and grateful with her stay and help!”

“Amanda did a great job, sent many pictures and updates and was very clear about her availability ahead of time! Came home to a clean space and a well taken care of kitty. We were lucky to have her!”

About: Just a college kid missing my pets while at school and willing to give an abundant amount of attention to everyone else's. Have had dogs , among other animals, all my life. All of the dogs that I have owned have been on the bigger side so I have no problem handling large animals. I also volunteered at the MSPCA for a short amount of time walking and caring for dogs and other animals there. Have recently moved to Portland and am looking for some new dogs to walk and love! If you need someone to look after any kinds of pets, I’m you’re girl! Very comfortable with any animal whether it be furry, scaley, feathered. Or anything else. Look forward to meeting your pets!

About: Dog care shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg! Whether you’re going on vacation or need some help after surgery, I’m more than happy to do anything and everything in between to help you and your pup(s) during your time of need! I work Mondays and Tuesdays 11p-7a so I can check in on pets late at night or early in the morning! Wednesday through Sunday I *only* do Rover, so I can focus on helping pet parents. I make sure to ask clarifying questions during meet and greets, then follow them to the T during visits in the future. Chores are done first if needed (cleaning litter box, letting out pups, food/water, etc) which I try to keep to under 10 minutes in order to give the majority of my time to the pet and spending time with them.
“My feisty pitbull liked Shelly immediately, as did I. I had to make quick dog sitting arrangements while visiting a friend out of state, and was relieved to have connected with Shelly to care for my pooch. Was very happy with the arrangement and recommend her highly.”

“I think that my dog Elsa can sense Melanie's love for dogs. During our earlier meet and greet, Elsa, a fairly shy dog, seemed comfortable with Melanie, going back to her for treats and pets. For this visit, Melanie showed up right on time, followed the plan we talked about, gave updates with photos, and gave a great, informative summary of the visit. We've rarely had carers/sitters for my dog, so I was very happy to see that Elsa seemed relaxed and calm when I got home. I would highly recommend Melanie with the experience and sense of responsibility she brings to the work. Thanks Melanie!”

“I am very grateful to Gillian for walking my dog last minute on a holiday weekend! They had a great time and Gillian's communication was perfect. Arrow is reactive and there were no issues on their walk, would definitely book again”

“Marisol is great! She is communicative and reliable. She takes extra time for cuddles and treats. And she gets along great would my pup. Would gladly recommend her to anyone :)”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family had a dog and two cats that were truly part of our family, and I loved caring for them. As a teenager, I often house sat for neighbors with pets, which made me realize even more how much I enjoyed being around animals and taking care of them. Now as an adult, I have two beautiful golden retrievers, Sam and Penny, who bring so much joy to our family. They are spoiled and very loved; my family jokes that I love the dogs more than them sometimes, and honestly, they may not be completely wrong I work a remote job, I am always around for plenty of attention, potty breaks, play time, walks, and most importantly treats! When weather is warm enough we spend a lot of time on the lake. I have two friendly, loving, playful Golden Retrievers who are always looking to make new friends. We enjoy playing daily, taking walks down to the beach, and belly rubs with treats!

About: Belmont, Maine | Experienced Pet Sitter | Farm Animal Friendly | Reiki-Calming Pet Sessions Hi, I’m Geoffery—a lifelong animal caregiver with 20+ years of hands-on experience caring for pets and farm animals alike. I grew up on a farm and have spent my life surrounded by animals of all kinds, offering everything from basic pet sitting and walks to drop-in visits, long-term fostering, and livestock care. I specialize in daytime house sitting, split AM/PM visits, and care for farm animals, senior pets, and anxious companions. Whether I’m tending to dogs, cats, pigs, or cows, I approach every animal with calm presence, kindness, and deep understanding. ⸻ I offer: • Drop-in visits (20–60 min) • Day-sitting at your home (9am–5pm) • AM/PM split visits • Light livestock care (pigs, cows, goats) • Medication, special diets, senior support • Walks, enrichment, snuggles, and updates • Optional Reiki-Calming Sessions for anxiety relief, post-surgery recovery, or general well-being My clients often say their pets are calm, happy, and tired after time with me—because I don’t just stop in, I bond, I engage, and I treat your animals like family. I also send photos, updates, and notes to keep you in the loop and reassured while you’re away. ⸻ My Background: • CNA with 10+ years in professional caregiving • Raised on a working farm with animal husbandry experience • Foster caregiver for struggling families’ pets • Comfortable with reactive or high-energy dogs • Reiki practitioner with gentle touch and energy healing experience • Available for last-minute or weekend requests when possible ⸻ What Sets Me Apart: • I provide extended care (not just 15-minute visits) • Comfortable with non-traditional animals (livestock, senior, special needs) • I work with clients to create custom plans—every pet is different • I’m home full-time and focus solely on animal care and community healing ⸻ Let’s Connect: Send a message with your pet’s name(s), needs, and ideal schedule. I’d love to meet them—and I’ll treat your home and animals with the same care I give my own. Schedule I run my own full-time pet care and healing business based out of my home in Belmont, Maine. This means I’m highly flexible and available throughout the day for visits, walking, house-sitting, and last-minute requests. Because I focus solely on this work, I give your pets my full attention, energy, and presence. Safety, Trust & Environment I care for animals in their own homes, where they feel safest and most comfortable. Every animal deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and intuitive understanding—and that starts with meeting them on familiar ground. When I enter your home, I bring a calm, grounded presence. I follow your pet’s existing routine as closely as possible while gently introducing enrichment, affection, and companionship. Whether your dog loves fetch in the yard, your cat prefers a quiet window perch, or your livestock need a gentle hand and clear communication, I adjust to meet their energy and needs. I specialize in tending senior pets, anxious or reactive animals, and pets with special diets or medications. I also offer Reiki calming sessions—gentle energy work that helps soothe nerves, balance energy, and promote well-being.

I have been very reliable to my close family members and friends to take care of their dogs and cats when they are working or away on vacation! Aside from Rover’s guarantee , I am also separately insured to give you an extra ease of mind when choosing me for your sitting needs! Pricing: Please understand pricing is non-negotiable. I do not offer discounts at this time, thank you for understanding! House Sitting Requests: Please keep in mind that I am catering to repeat clients I have throughout the week day as well! Depending on my schedule, I may not be at your home 24/7, however, I guarantee your pets won’t be alone longer than 5-6 hours. Typically I limit leaving to 2 times a day to accommodate these clients. (I won’t be gone 5-6 hours each time) My coming and going schedule will be provided prior to sitting! Constant Care: Constant care is applied to any sitting that doesn’t allow me to leave for more than 4 hours of the day, per day. Constant care rates start at $175/ night (additional rates still apply) and increase based off of pet’s needs. Please understand this service may not always be available and interferes with ongoing mid day clients. Price reflects alternative arrangements I need to make for existing clients. If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out! I currently only allow one family for boarding at a time. Prices reflect solo care and not having to worry about exposure to other dogs during their stay. I currently have one cat in the home - a 12 year old Maine Coon mix who is very relaxed and tends to mind her own business.
