Personalized care for your dog or cat - East End

Highly-rated overnight sitters - East End
“I had a last minute booking need come up and I’m so glad I did so I could meet Elisabeth! Elisabeth was so wonderful and caring to my dog. I was really excited to see she has other small dogs, and Louise had a blast running around with her crew. Elisabeth was incredibly caring, she sent really thorough updates and made Louise feel right at home after I left. I felt so at ease knowing my sensitive little dog was so well cared for and had some friends to play with. I would absolutely bring Louise back and highly recommend Elisabeth!”

“Claudia and Jason are truly amazing dog sitters. They took excellent care of our large Aussiedoodle , who never likes to be separated from me. They took him on many varied walks and on one of them even got him a pup ice cream, had cuddle time, time for play and rest. He returned home calm, confident and tired. I fully trust Claudia and Jason and am so grateful to them.”

About: I grew up with dogs and I miss the pure joy they have for this world. I can't own one with my current situation, but would love to look after yours. I'm a working professional who is kind and courteous. If you want me to know anything ask, feel free to ask! -Alex I work a full time remote job, with easy morning and evening walking times. The afternoon tends to be a bit busier for me so I may not be able to take an extended break but can make sure your pup has plenty of bathroom breaks and long walks. I am kind and courteous of other people's space. I offer sitting in your space or walks, because my apartment doesn't allow me to have dogs.
“Neil and Abby were great. Good communication and our dog was very happy there - lots of good play time with their dog Molly. Would definitely have Delta board with them again in the future!”

“Viva is an amazing Dog Sitter. She took care of a relatively elderly dog with lots of medication’s beautifully with excellent communication and I plan to work with her again many thanks.”

“Christine is a new favorite dogsitter! I left one of my dogs with her and her canine crew for five days—she came home happy, healthy, and tired after romping around the big fenced yard, dipping in the pool, and snoozing on the couch. Worry-free dogsitting from a true dog lover. Thanks, Christine!”

“Vicky was the best I could’ve hoped for. My dog was excited arriving into her home, and that’s not like her, she’s normally pretty nervous. Daphne was thrilled, and the photos and videos that followed showed that she was living the good life! Chillaxing and running=her happy life. Vicky lives in an amazing spot with trails in the forest that are dog heaven, I can only assume!!!”

About: Longtime dog lover and owner, current parent of a 9-year-old Siberian Husky service dog whom I trained to myself. I love dogs of all sizes and shapes and personalities and I can't wait to meet all the wonderful furkids that I'll be looking after in the future. I'm always telling people "I may have trouble remembering your name, but I will always remember your pet's name." Though I am small in stature I'm actually quite strong and can handle large/muscular dogs (and the occasional feral cat when necessary), because I just know how to move with them/guide them. I'm also not intimidated by aggressive behavior in animals, nor do I meet it with aggression in return. I always try to calm the animal and figure out the issue, putting myself between them and anyone/anything that might upset them further. I have a personality/presence that dogs seem to love, from the timid to the social, the calm to the active. I'm a fast walker, so your dog will certainly get a workout they'll love as they keep pace with me, but I can also meander when needed for the older dogs and fumbling puppies. I have experience doing basic grooming for dogs: bathing, brushing, shaving away mats, clipping nails, trimming the fur between pawpads, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears. I do not have experience doing "style" cuts for dogs. I know snake pet care as well, so feel free to inquire if you need someone to look after your danger noodle! Pet care is my primary work focus right now as I work through completing my online schooling towards getting my degree and Vet Tech licence. I have a backyard for your dog to play in alongside my very friendly Husky. It's not fenced in, but I keep a spare long-lead on-hand, same kind as I use for my girl, for guest dogs. If your dog is an especially strong one please let me know and I'll make sure to have an lead appropriate for your dogs weight strength available. Inside the house is dog-friendly and spacious, and I can crate your dog if needed. My dog is allowed on the couch and my bed, so do let me know if those are no-go areas for your dog. If your cat likes outside time I can provide walks and/or put them out in the backyard on the spare long-lead.
“Sri could not have cared for Murphy better! She sent us daily updates with photos and videos. They went on walks and played daily and it was evident that Sri loved Murphy as her own. We feel so lucky and greatly appreciate Sri!”

“Lexis was great with Rocky during the 2 days. Pictures were sent and you can tell that she enjoyed her time with him too. She was so sweet to walk Rocky before we arrived for pick up for a smooth drive home. Definitely recommend Lexi’s moving forward! Thank you!”

“Katherine did an amazing job with Boone. He was well rested and not anxious at all when I picked him up. She was very flexible and communicative during his stay. I was very happy!”

“Julia was great and I will be another booking with her again. Very communicative and time great care of my two cats (one of whom is kind of a jerk 😑) Thank you Julia!”

“I really appreciated Lauren's care for our cat Mimi while we were away. I felt at ease knowing that she was in good hands in our absence. Leaving your pet can be nerve-wracking, but Lauren made sure to keep me updated on how Mimi was doing and made sure to give her adequate playtime during visits. I highly recommend.”

“Katrina did a great job taking care of our kittens for the weekend--she came over for an introductory visit and then checked in to confirm timing of her visits while we were away. The kittens were well fed and happy when we got home, even though we returned later than we had planned.”

“Barbara was a fantastic friend to our cat while we were away! She was communicative, thoughtful, & sweet, and I really appreciated the daily updates she sent. I will gladly book her again.”

“Lindsay was so fabulous! Super easy to communicate with and provided great updates and photos. Our cat Charlie can tend to be nervous around new people but he warmed up to Lindsay right away and seemed to love her. We’ll definitely book with her again:)”

About: While dogs have always been at the center of my life, I also have solid experience caring for cats. Growing up, I regularly helped care for family cats and learned the basics of feline routines early on—feeding schedules, litter box maintenance, respecting boundaries, and understanding that cats often prefer calm, predictable care. I may not be a “cat person” in the stereotypical sense, but I am reliable, observant, and attentive. I understand that cats have distinct personalities and that their comfort often depends on consistency and low-stress interactions. I follow instructions closely and make sure your cat’s routine is respected while you’re away. If you’re looking for dependable drop-in care with clear communication and thoughtful attention, I’m happy to help.
“Maureen was so great! She communicate with me at every visit and sent plenty of photos! Even of my cat who doesn’t like strangers, she would always find her in her favorite hiding place and snap a photo for me :) would definitely use her again!!”

“Jess took great care of my 2 kitties when I was away. I got a daily photo with a cute snuggle picture of my friendly cat. It felt good to know they were so well cared for.”

“Brianna is a fantastic worker! She’s friendly, professional, kind and reliable. She’s experienced at giving subcutaneous meds, which is a huge help as my kitty gets weekly immunotherapy injections and it’s always gone smoothly. I trust Brianna with my Little Sophie 100%.”

“She is my cats’ favorite sitter! She’s able to get them to take their meds and they love her still! She was also able to adapt and still take care of them after a personal issue while I was overseas, which really soothed my worries about them.”

“Katey took wonderful care of my senior cat. I feel very lucky to have found her. She was very communicative, sent great pictures, and seemed to enjoy spending time with her. I would highly recommend Katey for pet care!”

“Jesika was a fantastic, caring, and communicative cat sitter! I really appreciated all of her updates, especially because my cat needs two daily medications. She even cleaned up a huge mess my cat made in between visits, not to mention she watered my plants because they were looking thirsty!! It was such a relief to have someone trustworthy and thoughtful looking after Rey while I was out of town for Thanksgiving. I highly recommend Jesika and look forward to booking with her again in the future!”

“We really appreciated Marna's communications; letting us know when she arrived and how Alphie greeted her. Alphie felt comfortable enough to give Marna some lovings, which was what we were hoping for. It felt good to trust our little man to Marna.”

“Thank you Madeleine! Maggie loves spending time with you and I know she’s well taken care of while we are away. We appreciate your thorough photos and can tell that Maggie has had a lot of love. Thank you!”

“Lindsay is fantastic. She has been a lifesaver with our new pup. He always comes home happy and tired, and Lindsay always gives great updates so I know exactly how our pup has been throughout the day. I couldn’t recommend her more.”

“Absolutely wonderful pet sitter. Marna was calm and patient with our little chihuahua, Miika. Miika was happy and relaxed when she was picked up. I highly recommend Marna and will definitely be using her services again.”

About: I have been the go to dog sitter for my friends and family for years. I am experienced with small/medium sized dogs of all ages. I'm very flexible and will do my best to accommodate special requests that are within my skill set. I also like to form long term relationships with pets and their families to ensure consistent care and the best experience for all involved. I am currently available 24/7 for my dog, we like to go to the beach, walks in the woods, naps and daily training exercises. I am flexible to work with your dogs needs and schedules! I'm happy to accommodate to the best of my capabilities the care and routines to which your pets are accustomed. Feeding, walks, meds, certain special care and sleeping arrangements will all be tailored to your pets needs to ensure the least stressful experience for your four legged friends!
“Alma was great with Reynard and sent photos and updates throughout the day. Reynard and Birdy got along well. Very happy that Alma was able to accommodate a last minute booking and we will certainly book her again!”

About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.
“Emilia took great care of my dog Louie who is a bit nervous around new people. Communication was great and I could tell my little guy felt very comfortable with her. Would 10/10 recommend!”

“Christine was a terrific sitter for our dogs and we look forward to using her services again for boarding later this month. She was attentive, kind, and understanding. Above all, she’s an excellent communicator. I would definitely recommend her.”

“i would definitely book simon again! he was lovely and very accommodating. he gave a thorough report when i picked up my pet who came home calm and taken care of. i was also impressed by his own lovely, and nicely trained dog. that says a lot!”

About: I’m a reliable Portland dog walker with 20+ years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I genuinely enjoy working with dogs and building trust with each one, and I’m patient and calm with dogs that need a little extra time or attention. I provide safe, fun, and structured walks and am very comfortable handling multiple dogs while making sure each one gets the attention they need. My goal is always to keep your dog happy, exercised, and safe. You’ll receive updates and photos after every walk so you know exactly how things went. I’d love to meet your dog! I have a fully flexible schedule. I’m available throughout the day to walk, feed, and spend quality time with pets, adjusting my hours to meet their needs. I’m passionate about caring for dogs and can dedicate the time needed to keep them happy, safe, and loved! I own two Italian Greyhounds whom are very friendly and cuddly, and my home has a fenced-in yard where we love to play. We take daily walks on the local trails, and visiting dogs are welcome on the furniture. When it comes to bed time, we have cozy beds in every room. I have one younger child who is great with dogs so there will be lots of love going around for your pet!
“Emily and Kieran took a very good care of our dog! They were very accomodating even on the last minute notice, and were very flexible on the timing, which we really appreciate :) They took Ohsam out for a walk several times, gave lots of loves and cuddles. I can see Ohsam had a great time with the family! Would recommend them during our next visit in Portland. Thank you!!”

“Our pup was very happy at Kylie’s house. It was totally puppy-proof, she was attentive to our dog’s needs and she was easy to communicate with. Kylie and John seem like great people and we would be happy to use them again sometime.”

“Victoria was wonderful and it was clear when I picked him up how comfortable and happy my pup had been with her. She was responsive when booking, communicative during her time with him including sending a photo, and flexible when I was a bit unsure of my timeline. I will definitely book time with her again!”
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets, and I’ve worked with all ages, from playful puppies to gentle seniors and occasionally some reactive dogs. I’m patient, dependable, and treat every dog like my own. I cannot accommodate dogs that are not crate trained. I have a 5 month old puppy, so dogs must be puppy friendly. I’m currently working part-time from home and getting my master’s degree, so I have plenty of time to play with your pups! I’m available for boarding on weekends and weekdays. I love including walks, playtime, and snuggles as part of my daily routine, it’s the best part of my day! I have a small yard and live near a park as well as access to many trails. I make sure all pets are safe, supervised, and comfortable at all times. I can crate your dog if needed and will always follow your specific feeding, walking, or medication instructions to ensure your pet feels right at home.
About: I have been a pet carer since I could hold a spoon and scoop cat food onto a plate. My family had two cats for my entire childhood; they lived to 18 and 19 years old! I have cat-sat for friends and family for all my life and through this have become extremely comfortable with cats—from the grumpy to the cuddly. I have given cats medicine in most forms that don't require a certification (pills, syringe, in food, inhalers, ointments... just no injections!) and have sitted for kittens, cats with illnesses like chronic respiratory issues, cancer, and severe skin allergies, and have no queasiness when it comes to the realities of life with cats! With dogs, I have more of the proper pet-sitting experience. That has really ramped up in the last year, since we moved to Portland and into an apartment that is pet-friendly. I have loved getting to know each dog and adjusting so they have the best time possible (it can't be easy leaving home for a stranger's house!). For example, one dog tends to have a much better, more peaceful day if I get him out to the woods for a run/walk in the morning before work (who wouldn't!) Another loves to cuddle, so we put a blanket on the couch so that she can snuggle while we watch TV at night with constant pets. Another is whip-smart, so I try to make sure we do extra enrichment/play time. With all animals, I try to go above and beyond and see them as individuals with distinct personalities and needs. :) I am a work-from-home journalist who would absolutely love some company, playtime, cuddles, and more reasons to get outside during the day. Sadly, I travel too much right now to adopt a pet of my own. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to bond with and share my space with an animal! My work schedule is incredibly flexible, but in general I am home all day, with some sort of exercise in the morning that I would be happy to make part of the pet sitting experience, a remote work day wherein I have a lot of freedom to take breaks. I also have a small porch, a medium-sized fenced yard, a larger non-fenced yard, and a beautiful suburban area to walk with nearby parks. I am often away from home for a few hours in the evening, but I am flexible and happy to stay home with an animal if necessary. Flexibility is the name of the game! We live in a very safe area, in a pet-friendly home. It is just my partner and I, two young professionals, in an apartment that regularly hosts animals for boarding. As a previous long-time pet owner and sitter, I am aware of the best practices regarding animal safety (depending on the animal). I prioritize comfort and respect with animals. I think of animals as a member of the family, and will care for their interest and safety as I would a child who was in my care.
“Annie was fantastic! Winnie is not the easiest of dogs and Annie was gentle and patient with her. She found ways around things that Winnie doesn't enjoy, like being picked up, which is necessary because she can't do stairs.”
About: I genuinely love cats and dogs and I would own more if I could! I currently have two cats (Han and Solo) and a dog named Ollie. I understand different animals have different needs and routines. Here to help look after your animals for dog walks, drop in visits, potty breaks, babysitting! I currently work from home and can be fairly flexible and available for your pets needs. I can do early mornings, evenings and drop ins/walks during the day. As I have animals at home it will be best if I look after your pets in their own home. I walk my dog often and he loves other dogs so we would be happy to add another to our daily walk!

About: Hi, my name is Michael and I am a proud owner of a beautiful King Charles Cavalier Spaniel and my dog and I would both love to have your pups company. Please let me know if you have any special instructions and I promise your pup will have a comfortable stay with many fun walks. Thanks! I provide 5 walks a day for my own pup and would love for your dog to join. I work from home so your dog will have ongoing company throughout most of the day. I have one friendly dog in a quiet calm environment with no children. I will feed and walk your doggy as requested, and can provide lots of pets as well.

About: I love animals! I have had my own cat for 12 years, grew up with both cats and dogs, and have dog walked outside of Rover for some time! It is a pleasure to help other pet owner's with their babies while they are away or busy. As a pet owner myself I understand the trust needed when allowing someone time with your pet and always keep that top of mind! Looking to assist with dog walking and cat/dog drop ins to feed and take care of pets while owner is busy. Would love to set up regular walks/ drop ins. I currently work full time from home and am able to take breaks for walks/ drop ins. I am also typically available on weekends as well for walks and drop ins. I am happy to drop in and take care of your pet in your own home, or take your pup for walks! I live in a dog friendly apartment with my own cat but prefer to take care of your pets in your own space.
“Lindsay is the best! Poppy our Cavapoo has bonded so well with her! Provides great comments on walks and is always so flexible and prompt. Thanks a million Lindsay!”

About: I am a pre-vet college student looking to spend some time taking care of people's furry friends this summer. I have basic animal first aid training, I am pretty well versed in senior care in cats (having had a few of my own), and I LOVE working with/training puppies and young dogs. I'm happy to work with any age, size, energy level, and temperament of animal -- just tell me their favorite treat and we'll get along great :) I'm available for pet sitting, house sitting, and dog walking! My rates are negotiable, especially since I'm new to Rover. Message me if you have questions! I'm home for the summer, so excluding a few one-time conflicts, I'm free and clear! I would be happy to set up a repeating walk schedule. I'm happy to work around any comfort level your pet has with new people. I'd prefer to do a meet and greet before taking them out for the first time, just to make sure that your furry friend is comfortable with me (or has at least met me) before we spend some time together.
“Anna made Nahla fall in love with her in about 90 seconds. I think Anna has a presence and a command that is so comfortable around dogs, I love that she gave us notes and pictures via the Rover card, we haven't had that level of communication before.”

“Meagan is awesome! She was so excited to meet Knox the first time and went above and beyond with him on their walks! We really appreciated the pictures and notes from their time together. Meagan also shows up promptly and left me with a tired and happy puppy! Highly recommend!”

“Jesika was such a huge help, always showed up with a smile, my puppy was overjoyed to see her and she was very communicative through our time. Would definitely hire her again.”

“In NEED of a dog walker while recovering from foot surgery, I found Alejandro here on Rover. I chose Alejandro after reading many walker profiles and one review stood out which ultimately helped me make the decision. Alejandro has been very easy to work with, I booked for reoccurring walks for the time I am incapacitated, he has a planned vacation in the middle of my needs. We worked out a schedule that would meet both of our needs. After a few days of being laid up, no one was helping with my pups morning walks. Asked Alejandro if he was available to do mornings and he could! What good luck?! Communication has been great, pup is panting and happy when he gets home, and the rate fits my budget. Thank you Alejandro! Enjoy your vacation and we will see you when you return!”

About: Growing up with dogs all around was and continues to be a fun and deeply rewarding experience. I have cared for dogs (and cats, etc.) since I was a kid, and still often take care of family and friends' pets. Providing enrichment and engagement, anticipating and caring for needs, wrangling wily actors, managing space and time in a positive attitude, and thinking and acting flexibly, attuned to diverse and changing needs, are not only things required from a good dog walker - these are tasks I complete daily as a middle school teacher. I am available all day most Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with some availability on the weekends. During the school year, my availability will mostly be on the weekends, though I will be available during school breaks and holidays. As a dog walker, safety is the most important aspect. I am a very perceptive individual and take care to be aware of all of my surroundings. Any and all information you can share about your pet is greatly welcome.
“Katey was fantastic. Our dog is anxious around new people and she made her feel very comfortable. Highly recommend! Responsive and great experience with animals.”

“Viva truly understands dogs. She absolutely adores them, and they absolutely adore her!!! She exudes positive energy. She asks thoughtful, thorough questions and communicates really well. With Viva, you know your precious dog is in the best possible hands ❤️”

About: Animals have always been the center of my world, from growing up with pets to pet-sitting countless dogs and cats across NYC. My two cats, August and Ivy, are the absolute loves of my life - My goal is simple: to provide your beloved pets with the exact same high standard of care, safety, and affection that my own two companions receive at home. I work in the office 3 days a week, but I have an hour for lunch and live only 7 min from my office. If close enough I will be able to check in midday as well as morning and after work. I have a fenced yard, though my cats are indoor only I have taken care of my neighbors dogs and enjoy playing fletch for round after round after round. I am organized and will have notes based on what you need for each drop in, will supply pictures, be there on time and stay the whole time. Having used rover myself I know how integral these things are!
“Destiny took great care of Sophie during her pop in walk visits. Sophie can be a bit high maintenance and Destiny was very patient with her and truly went above and beyond.”

About: I grew up with three dogs, a cat, and a bird, and am very comfortable around all animals. Additionally, I have worked with anxious dogs and reactive dogs. Currently, my family owns two cats, and I enjoy hiking, crafting, and exploring new places! I am an upcoming senior at USM studying ASL/English Interpreting. I look forward to meeting your four-legged family members! I'm currently working part-time and am flexible regarding my availability - we can work together to make something work! I do have a couple of trips this summer, one in mid-June and one in late July. o In your home, I will follow your pets' typical routine and make sure to give them extra love while you are away :) I enjoy walks and hikes, and would love to bring your dog along! I have a large car and will happily take them on an adventure.
“Andy has been walking my dog fairly regularly for over 6 months now and I can’t recommend him enough. He is always timely in his response and communicates very clearly. I would recommend him to anyone who’s looking for a loving and responsible dog walker.”

About: I have been caring for my cat Minou for about 3 years now. Outside of my experience with her, I help to take care of my parent's dogs back in upstate NY! We have always had dogs, and I will help to feed them, take them on walks, take them to vet appointments, and take them outside. We recently adopted a rescue named Luna, and I have been helping to care for her which has been an absolute blast! For the remainder of May and the month of June, I am free every day! Come July, I will be a 3rd year medical student, so my availability is primarily limited to weekends. We could always discuss a check in, or short walk for your animals on weekdays, but my schedule is a bit unpredictable in terms of when I am let out. Ensuring the safety of your loved ones is my utmost priority, and I would always be sure to follow instructions on how you would like for me to care for them so that all parties can feel safe and supported.

“Alma took such good care of our pup while we were away for the weekend! He got lots of exercise and had so much fun playing with Birdie. Alma had a great setup at home and her communication was top notch.”

“Jules was great with my puppy. She took him to the beach and my dog was clearly having the greatest time based on the photos she sent me. Jules did a fantastic job communicating and sending me updates while I was away. I would totally trust her with my dog again. Thank you Jules!!”

“Kelly was a great sitter for my dog, was very caring and patient and made him feel at home. He likes a lot of attention and she was great with him and sent daily updates. I highly recommend Kelly!”

“Kylie & John watched my dog Kate for two weeks and I could tell by the photos and text updates that she was relaxed and comfortable in their home. They are very easy going and caring; real dog lovers who understand dog behavior. When I picked up Kate, she was calm and seemingly happy. I was too, knowing that she was in the best of care while I was away. Thank you Kylie and John! Kate hopes to stay with you again.”

“Christina was great with Molly and treated her as if she was her own. They bonded right away and Molly was very happy and comfortable. It gave me great peace of mind to know she was being so well looked after. I will definitely use Christina again!”

“Grace is a fantastic sitter. Chewy, my Labradoodle, loved staying with her. He has had two separate stays with her and when he saw her the second time, he simply rushed in to greet her with such joy. I definitely recommend her if you need a dog sitter.”
