About: I'm a lifelong dog owner and have enjoyed the experience of teaching my daughters the joys and responsibilities of caring for our dogs. As lead parent, I've been passionate about opting for daily outdoor adventures with my daughters and dogs and have often heard, "Boy, you have your hands full!", to which I have always replied, "I need to keep everybody happy somehow." Romps on the beach or marsh, trail running, and biking or rollerblading the Eastern Trail are just a few of our favorites. Over the past few years, we've said goodbye to our beloved Boss and Kona. We're still craving dog energy around our home and outdoor adventures, and want to assist other families in the Scarborough community to achieve "a tired dog, a happy dog" experience that we've known and love. We feel blessed to have a doggy daycare buddy, Finnegan, with us most weekdays and he is dog friendly. I work from home while my daughters are in school and am off with them during the summer months. We are available to care for your dog throughout the day and evening, and love boarding dogs for overnights. Summer hours are very flexible for walks. During the school year we can walk your dog weekdays after 3:30PM; or as scheduled outside of those hours upon request. My Mondays and Fridays tend to be light on my primary work and I carve out time for doggy adventures and exercise. We can accommodate based on your needs and recommendations specific for your dog(s). When Amanda’s not caring for her sweet group of five-year-olds or Austen’s not out playing tennis, we’re spending time with Mazie, chasing seagulls at the beach, hiking in the mountains, or snuggling up on the couch after a snowy play session. We live in a quiet neighborhood with a fully fenced-in backyard that dogs love to explore. Austen works from home full-time, so your pup will get plenty of attention throughout the day, and we share responsibilities depending on the care your pet needs. Whether it’s a weekend adventure, daily daycare, or a cozy overnight stay, we’re here to make your dog feel happy, safe, and loved. We offer care throughout the week and are happy to accommodate weekends, holidays, and special requests as our schedule allows. Austen works from home and provides consistent weekday care and supervision, while Amanda handles most weekend walks, drop-ins, and house sitting when needed. Between the two of us, your pet will never go long without company, playtime, or a potty break. “Overall, our dog did well at Heidi’s house because he loves to be a pack animal and wishes he were at the dog park 24/7. This is not the place to go if your dog gets overwhelmed by other dogs. Although Heidi I was nervous when dropping Benny off at Heidi’s because about 30 dogs were staying at her house and it seemed very hectic upon arrival. I thought there were going to be way less dogs, and assumed from her profile photos that she had more of a kennel set up in her house. However, all went well and Benny came back safely. I was impressed by Heidi’s ability to keep up with all of the dogs she was watching, while maintaining communication with owners. Benny came back super exhausted and overstimulated, but I was thankful that he had a very active time and was distracted from being homesick. Heidi’s outdoor space for the dogs is huge and looks very secure, so her place would be perfect for the summer.”
