About: I grew up with dogs and I miss the pure joy they have for this world. I can't own one with my current situation, but would love to look after yours. I'm a working professional who is kind and courteous. If you want me to know anything ask, feel free to ask! -Alex I work a full time remote job, with easy morning and evening walking times. The afternoon tends to be a bit busier for me so I may not be able to take an extended break but can make sure your pup has plenty of bathroom breaks and long walks. I am kind and courteous of other people's space. I offer sitting in your space or walks, because my apartment doesn't allow me to have dogs.

“Rose was a wonderful caretaker for my diabetic cat. She administered her insulin and gave very detailed updates with lots of pictures! “Hanna was WONDERFUL! She took such great care of my cat Peeper. In fact Peeper runs to the door/window when she hears someone coming up the stairs and I know she is looking for Hanna to come and play with her. Next time I need a sitter Hanna will be my first call. THANK YOU HANNA!”

“Words cannot adequately capture how superb James was. I had so much anxiety leaving my babies to take a vacation, but it’s clear I had nothing to worry about with James. He was kind, caring, and attentive to the intricacies of managing my four pets. I’ve had a lot of people pet sit in the past, including friends and family, but nobody has done it better than James. I cannot recommend him highly enough!”

“Lily has been absolutely wonderful as a cat-sitter for our two cats over the last 3 years - - dropping in on them for visits from a few days to a few weeks. Always reliable & responsible, our cats love her. She clearly loves them as well. We watch them bouncing down the stairs to greet her & then play with her on our Ring cameras. Lily is warm & personable, and also very responsive...so we feel very comfortable leaving them with her, and know they are in good hands. I recommend Lily strongly!”

“Sera was more than we could ask for! I was apprehensive leaving our cat for two weeks, but right away Sera made us feel very secure and made sure our cat felt very loved. Surely our Rusie can’t wait for us to take another vacation!”

We received detailed updates after every drop in and I never worried about the level of care that he was receiving. Madeleine is the best!”

“Briana always takes such good care of our high-maintenance cat! She’s one of the few pet sitters able to give him his insulin injections (he’s sassy). He’s always so happy when we get home.”

“Justine took great care of our kittens. We really appreciated all the photos she added to the updates and the extra effort of taking our packages inside. Would definitely book again!”

About: I’ve been a dedicated cat caretaker since getting my first kitten at 10 years old. Over the years, I’ve consistently cared for my own pets and stepped in to look after friends' animals across NYC. Today, I'm a proud parent to August and Ivy, the absolute loves of my life. I know firsthand that pet care isn't always glamorous, and I am entirely comfortable with the messy, high-maintenance sides of love. I expertly manage one of my cat's asthma and daily medication routine, and I regularly handle sanitary trims and cleanups for my long-haired cat. I will treat your pets with the exact same patient, deep, and detailed care I give my own.

About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.
“Emily and Kieran took a very good care of our dog! They were very accomodating even on the last minute notice, and were very flexible on the timing, which we really appreciate :) They took Ohsam out for a walk several times, gave lots of loves and cuddles. I can see Ohsam had a great time with the family! Would recommend them during our next visit in Portland. Thank you!!”

“In NEED of a dog walker while recovering from foot surgery, I found Alejandro here on Rover. I chose Alejandro after reading many walker profiles and one review stood out which ultimately helped me make the decision. Alejandro has been very easy to work with, I booked for reoccurring walks for the time I am incapacitated, he has a planned vacation in the middle of my needs. We worked out a schedule that would meet both of our needs. After a few days of being laid up, no one was helping with my pups morning walks. Asked Alejandro if he was available to do mornings and he could! What good luck?! Communication has been great, pup is panting and happy when he gets home, and the rate fits my budget. Thank you Alejandro! Enjoy your vacation and we will see you when you return!”

“Anna made Nahla fall in love with her in about 90 seconds. I think Anna has a presence and a command that is so comfortable around dogs, I love that she gave us notes and pictures via the Rover card, we haven't had that level of communication before.”

“Matt was great! He was communicative from the meet and greet through a full week of 2x day walks, he always provided an update on how things were going. He was caring and patient with my dog and punctual for all walks! Thank you Matt!”

I have a fenced yard, though my cats are indoor only I have taken care of my neighbors dogs and enjoy playing fletch for round after round after round. I am organized and will have notes based on what you need for each drop in, will supply pictures, be there on time and stay the whole time. Having used rover myself I know how integral these things are!

“Even after the front door locked Nicholas out, he and his wife still stayed with cooper until I was able to come home. They did not accept my cash tip I offered for being so patient, and they only had things to praise cooper for. Great walkers and great people!”

About: My first job was at Mainely Dog, a doggy daycare where I fed and entertained groups of dogs-all sizes and personalities. I’ve grown up with many dogs in my family. About: I have cared for animals from dogs to horses to chickens since childhood. My dog is used to 3 walks a day in the neighborhood and an before-bed potty break, with some trips to trails and parks to keep things interesting. I live on a quiet dead-end street. If your dog likes car rides, we can also go for adventures on other trails. I have a friendly, 6 year old greyhound, Turtle, who gets along well with medium and large dogs, so any boarders must play well with others and be up to date on shots, including kennel cough, and parasite screenings!

About: Growing up with dogs all around was and continues to be a fun and deeply rewarding experience. I have cared for dogs (and cats, etc.) since I was a kid, and still often take care of family and friends' pets. I am available all day most Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with some availability on the weekends. During the school year, my availability will mostly be on the weekends, though I will be available during school breaks and holidays. As a dog walker, safety is the most important aspect.
