About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.

I understand different animals have different needs and routines. Here to help look after your animals for dog walks, drop in visits, potty breaks, babysitting! About: I have been a pet carer since I could hold a spoon and scoop cat food onto a plate. My family had two cats for my entire childhood; they lived to 18 and 19 years old! I have cat-sat for friends and family for all my life and through this have become extremely comfortable with cats—from the grumpy to the cuddly. I have given cats medicine in most forms that don't require a certification (pills, syringe, in food, inhalers, ointments... just no injections!) and have sitted for kittens, cats with illnesses like chronic respiratory issues, cancer, and severe skin allergies, and have no queasiness when it comes to the realities of life with cats! With dogs, I have more of the proper pet-sitting experience. That has really ramped up in the last year, since we moved to Portland and into an apartment that is pet-friendly. I have loved getting to know each dog and adjusting so they have the best time possible (it can't be easy leaving home for a stranger's house!). For example, one dog tends to have a much better, more peaceful day if I get him out to the woods for a run/walk in the morning before work (who wouldn't!) Another loves to cuddle, so we put a blanket on the couch so that she can snuggle while we watch TV at night with constant pets. Another is whip-smart, so I try to make sure we do extra enrichment/play time. With all animals, I try to go above and beyond and see them as individuals with distinct personalities and needs. :) I am a work-from-home journalist who would absolutely love some company, playtime, cuddles, and more reasons to get outside during the day. Sadly, I travel too much right now to adopt a pet of my own. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to bond with and share my space with an animal! My work schedule is incredibly flexible, but in general I am home all day, with some sort of exercise in the morning that I would be happy to make part of the pet sitting experience, a remote work day wherein I have a lot of freedom to take breaks. I also have a small porch, a medium-sized fenced yard, a larger non-fenced yard, and a beautiful suburban area to walk with nearby parks. I am often away from home for a few hours in the evening, but I am flexible and happy to stay home with an animal if necessary. Flexibility is the name of the game! We live in a very safe area, in a pet-friendly home. It is just my partner and I, two young professionals, in an apartment that regularly hosts animals for boarding. About: I’ve had dogs my whole life (labs) but love all breeds and cats as well. Grew up with senior dogs and currently have a 2y old puppy that I train and have taken care of since he was 2m old as well as a 8y old that I’ve trained since she was a puppy. This was my first time using her services for my dog Chloe, and I must admit, I was initially very nervous about leaving her with someone, as I had never left her in the care of another person before. However, from the moment I met Natalie, I could immediately sense her genuine love for animals. Chloe, who is a rescue and has a history as a breeder dog, is typically very cautious around new people. But, to my delight, Chloe was calm and even allowed Natalie to touch her, which was a huge step. When I expressed my concerns about Chloe potentially feeling abandoned, Natalie reassured me with warmth and confidence that Chloe would be just fine. Throughout my time away, Natalie was quick to respond to my check-ins, sending pictures of Chloe happily interacting with her children and another dog. It was evident that Chloe was having a wonderful time, which allowed me to relax and fully enjoy my vacation. I will definitely be using Natalie’s sitter services again in the future. About: I recently lost my 14 y/o Coonhound (Jazzy) She was the bestest girl in the world, and the best friend anyone could ask for. I am not ready for another dog just yet, but I would love to have another heartbeat in the house. My schedule is very flexible, in the event that I have to run some errands, I am happy to take your dog for a car ride with me. I live in a quiet neighborhood with a large backyard and in close proximity to trails for long walks that I often frequent. Also, I could not be happier to have your dog hang out on the couch with me while I read or work from home.
